A little bit about friendship

I have never, in all my life, ever approached someone to ask them to be my friend. Point in fact, I've been told I have the tendency to be standoffish and it often comes out as unfeeling and cold. Yet, despite that glaring fact, all the friends I have today are people who, at one point in my life, took the initiative to come to me and ask me to be their friend. Literally.

I have no idea what it was that made them want to approach me in the first place but I'm really glad they did. They're the people that made me realize what great friendship was like. The type that, when they do something bad and you call them out on it, they thank you for it instead of getting all defensive and hate you for life. What I appreciate more, is that they do that to me too. I consider myself to be a straightforward person so I appreciate it when somebody tells me if they have beef with me. Of course, I do the same but I at least have the sense to not do it to someone who I'm not close to.

As for those toxic people I once considered as friends? I have enough shit to deal with in my life and I'm not stupid enough to keep 'friends' who do nothing but make my life miserable.

      @BlancFrost @Pyoo You two are sweet :X3: Thank you. Just had an urge to write this one down after chatting with one of my closest friends who now lives in Japan. The distance is daunting but technology is amazing. I appreciate that I still get to contact her everyday :D

      @NiQuinn That sounds lovely \o/ Simple pictures are the best. Especially everyday life shots. I've seen pictures of people taking the train and during peak hour everyone is squished like sardines onto the train XD

      @BlancFrost She sends me pictures of stuff she cooks. Rarely food she eats outside. Also, rather than the scenic photos, she takes pictures of the normal streets and whatnot which I appreciate more :D Recently she sent me a picture of the school building she lives close to where they have a row of wisterias and it's so beautiful :) Even that simple photo was a treat.

      Wow Japan? Does she send you pictures of her eating good food and going to all the lovely scenic destinations? I want to go to Japan one of these days. It sounds and looks so amazing, and I heard the people were very friendly too~

      It is always hard to make friends and be able to keep them at your side. You are a lovely person though NiQuinn, your friends can see that and that's why they decided to stay. We want to be able to be surrounded by the people who like us for us and not need to say useless words or do excessive things to keep the friendship together.

      I never asked someone to be my friend nor other ppl asked me and i have few really good friends.
