The Journal Of The Traveling Alchemist Young Hie Though The Archipelago Of Far East - Part 1
Enjoying a bit of tea, you pay attention
To the Priestess cheerful talk with an old man,
Who is telling about the things he saw and discovered while traveling.

On the strange Archipelago called "Far East" exist many forms of "Cultivation", and no I am not talking about those people that cultivate the land and plant vegetables...
The "Cultivators" I am talking about are a group of people that seek a power and immortality, it's said that they "cultivate" a strange power that exists inside each of them...

This is what I learned about these "Cultivators" while I traveled that strange Archipelago:

- Cultivators

These are the most common type of Cultivators, and those the name of the whole group was named after them (Note: maybe that is why they think so high of themselves?)

These Cultivators seek Immortality by absorbing and condensing a kind of power which they call "Immortal Energy"
they can use that to protect their bodies, and power up the thing they call "Divine Abilities" and which is a form of magic which can use both at long range or melee depending on the technique

- Bodily Cultivators

These people are one of the most curious people of the Archipelago, they power come from their bodies, but don't think they are simple muscle heads.
The strength they can achieve with their so-called "Ki and Blood" is as powerful as any of the other forms of cultivation, and if you take into consideration that their very bodies are stronger than most weapons,
and as tough as the best of the armors, they are some of the most difficult things to kill, and fearsome opponents.

- Demoniac Cultivators

On "The Far East" exist a curious form of energy that is called "Demoniac Ki". well don't think of it as something evil, no it's far from it, it has absolutely no relation with the demons and devils we know.
But I can fully understand why it's called as that.

The "Demoniac Ki" is a form of energy in which only some few beasts and demons can perceive, and these beasts can absorb it, and "cultivate" that energy like Cultivators cultivates their "Immortal Energy".
and the most astonishing of all is that once they reach a certain threshold, these beasts can turn into a form of Humanoid being. (Note: each of them looks different from each other, most of them keep familiarities with the race they had before the transformation)

- Samurais
Through all my wanderings, I have met few warriors as outstanding as these. Like knights, the samurais have their codes, and while it has some few differences between each of them, it's a strict code that should not be broken.
Now, why I am mentioning these amazing warriors? that is simple, Samurais aren't like the warriors and knights from other places... they are also cultivators.
but what makes them so fearsome isn't just that, it's the fact that unlike other cultivators, they don't cultivate a kind of power or energy... they cultivate their own will.

The Samurais are known for their unshakable will, but that isn't just a Speech expression, it's a literal thing, their will is so strong that its able to alter their surroundings in a way similar to magic.
each and all of the Samurais undergo a harsh training to strengthen their will, and unlike knights whose code is something made out for keeping honor and status
Samurai's code is made to strengthen their wills even further.

They are able to use their will to generate a form of "Aura" that can strengthen their bodies, or cover their weapons... some say that the older ones can even create weapons completely made of that "Aura"
if you couple it with their outstanding mastery with weapons and melee combat, it makes them something to fear.

- Ninjas
There is no person that had gone to "Far East" and haven't heard about them, but it's even funny if you compare how little is known about these Assassins, Saboteurs, spies and their fame.
Fortunately I had the pleasure to met with one of their chiefs or better saying have one of them coming to me to ask for my services. (NOTE: I sincerely don't know how they discovered that I was in that place, as I had even disguised myself at that time)
in the time I expend with them I managed to uncover some few facts about them.

like other cultivators, their power comes from a for of energy or power, in that case, the mysterious "Chakra" it's a form of energy that exists inside of them and not outside.
The so-called "Chakra" is an energy that is very difficult to sense, and perfect for their line of work.
they told me that they can use it to enchant their bodies or make a kind of cloak to make their already excellent hiding techniques even better, it also said that "chakra" can be used to make some magic, though they insisted that it's not magic but a special technique.
(NOTE: their magic isn't really powerful like the ones of a mage, at most mid-level... but the fearsome way they can cast it instantly, and its usefulness in battle is not something to take lightly)
following the rumors another use for "Chakra" is that if it's infused into the enemy body it can disrupt their senses... well they refused to tell if its true or not so I think I will never know if it's real.

- Beast Channeler
Some of or maybe even the oldest form of cultivation known through "The Far East" The Beast Channelers share so many characteristics with Shamans that it's even possible to say that what they practice is actually a shamanistic art, and it's a practice in which only those that have the affinity can use
(NOTE: they believe that the talent to use it is a gift as only the ones born with that power can use it)

Their Legends say that the Beast God, that was one of the most powerful gods, was Mortally wounded when he arrived on these lands... to ensure that everything was safe for the other gods, he alone flew through all the lands of "the Far East" for 21 days, and from the blood that came out of his wounds and fell on the earth the beasts were born, and the people which were touched by his blood became the Beast Channelers.
(NOTE: Their description of the Beast God, is totally different from everything I heard... they say he had a giant humanoid body, but he had thousands of heads with different shapes... it said that each race of beast was born from the blood that came out of each of these different heads, and the beasts assumed a form similar to the one that heads used to have)

Maybe because the kinship they share for having the blood of the Beast God, The Beast Channelers absorb the soul of the beasts they defeat or reach an agreement with into their bodies, and them they reach a state of symbiosis, the Beast Channeler will feed the Beast soul with spiritual power, and as return he can summon that beast to fight for him.
and the Beast Soul will grow stronger and have its physical limitations removed as compensation.

The Strength of a Beast Channeler depends on how many Beast Souls he absorbed and how strong each is.

- Onmyjoudo
This strange groupe of people may be the ones that hold most resemblance with their continent's counterpart, the Priests, but even so, they are a far cry from each other.
Much like the priests the Onmyoudjis as they call themselves, are responsible for religious celebrations and also events, with rituals being a big part of their powers.
But Unlike the priests, their powers diverge to other direction, the Onmyoudjis aren't strong adepts to healing magic like most priests are, but their barrier magic is far more complex and developed.
another difference is that the Onymous uses spiritual powers instead of sacred or holy energies, and while using that spiritual energy they can commute with the spiritual world and connect both, by doing so they can use the power of divinations, summon and control spirits to help them, and also use their strongest and most important weapon... Seals.

- Mana Cultivators
it said that originally the Far East almost didn't have mana, but after it feel in our world, the mana that filled the planet rushed in, and latter following it, some groups of mages found their way to far east, its said that these mages had a hard time and were almost extinct, but for those who survived what they found in far island changed them forever...
while it is unknown how much of the legend is right or wrong, some parts of it are facts recognized by all, first being that this clan really wasn't originally from Far Island, second that their power is strong enough to place them between the most powerful ones, and lastly what these mages from the legend found... it was cultivation.

But what is the difference between the mana cultivators and cultivators? well besides the obvious fact that they cultivate different types of energy, their principal difference is their ideals, Cultivators strives for immortality above all, but mana cultivators path is different, in fact, they path completely ignores immortality, and while they may achieve long lives, their cultivation has given up immortality,
But instead their aim is power, pure and simple power, the path of mana cultivation is hard and thorny, maybe even more difficult than normal cultivation, but apparently giving up immortality brings them a unimaginable power.

I had the opportunity of talking with them, and by what I saw they are by far the most open clan towards people from outside far east, probably because they themselves had been outsiders in the past, obviously they didn't shared the secrets of their cultivation (thought they said that I could join them, and learn it)
But they agreed in showing a demonstration of their powers, and it is something I won't ever forget, unlike most outside mages, their magics aren't made to affect the outside, but its made the affect within themselves.

- The Enmas
These cultivators are shrouded in misteries in which even I don't dare to search too deep, the Enmas are feared and loathed by all other cultivators of the far east, there are few places where they are treated as equals, but in fact, no one has the courage to buy the enmity of these strange persons.
I never had the opportunity to approach one of them (in fact part of me is glad for that), and there are a vast number of rumors, legends and such things about them, so it's incredibly difficult to distinguish what is real from the imagination, or from the words full of disgust...
While talking with some people from other clans and the few masters I managed to contact, I managed to find some of the truths that are hidden in the middle of the rumors.

Apparently the hate they incurred from the entire far islands, come from the fact that they use a strange and nefarious cultivation technique which was supposedly banned.
That technique allows them to steal the cultivation base of another person (or being).

These cultivators can create a thing usually called "puppets" or "soul constructs" which they use to avoid the backlash from stealing other person's cultivation base.
These "puppets" aren't just a tool for that, they are also a powerful weapon and armor, which will protect the Enma.
Another fact which I managed to proof truly is that the Enmas emit a strong aura of death which is impossible to hide probably a result from their techniques.
