THE BASICS OF MAGIC - MAGICAL ENERGIES 1 (PRIMAL ENERGIES)
The Priestess slowly enjoy drinking her tea and eat her cookies,
As she analyzes her plans for the magical class
Till a sudden thought comes up....
"Would teaching the real concept of magic do more harm than letting them use the wrong concept?"

What is magic? a question which is frequently asked by young people and even by the grand Sages, There are many different definitions of what exactly is magic. But which one is right? which one is wrong? one of the definitions of what is "magic" which is very good is [Magic is the act of using your will to influence the world in order to cause a specific phenomenon].

While we won't go too deep into it since today the topic is different, as the quote says, in order to use magic you need to force the world to reproduce what you want. But in AG world one more thing is necessary to reproduce magic and that would be the [Magical Energies] or [Mystical Energies]

WHAT ARE MYSTICAL ENERGIES?

Like how science define that in the world has specifical forms of energy like Kinect energy, Heat and others, the mysticism as that the world has others, the so called Magical or Mystical energies, in AG those energies really exist and they are what "fuel" the use of magic.

The most well known mystical energy is [Mana] but there are many magical energies, and each of them has different characteristics. While there is a really big quantity of them, you can basically divide them into 2 main categories, The [Primal], and the [Non-Primal].

There are many Non-primal energies in AG, and they vary a lot in characteristics and origin.
What categorizes them is that while certainly powerful they not essential for the omniverse itself, and also that they have an origin be that origin, a place, an item, a being, or even a mixture of energies.
some examples of [Non-Primal] Energies are:

  • Divine Energy - An energy which comes from the divinity of beings which ascended.
  • Demonic Energy - An energy which comes from the planes commonly called "Hell"

On another hand, there are few Primal energies in AG Omniverse, and each of them is necessary for the Omniverse very existence, they exist since the beginning or even before the omniverse and represents a crucial aspect and concept, not only that, each of the Primal Energies has a form of a will of their own, which are the so-called [Entities].

Unlike the other mystical energies, the Primal ones exist everywhere, only having their concentration changed depending on the place. An interesting aspect of the Primal energies is that they normally come in pairs which balance each other creating a form of equilibrium.

The currently known are:
Chaos - The essence of Destruction, Creation, Madness, Mutation, Unknow.
Order - The essence of Organization, Control, Sanity, Known
Life - The essence of Life, Improvement, Probation, Learning
Death - The essence of Death, Experience, Reparation, Justice
Nature - The essence of Growth, Expansion, Flourish, Prime, Increase
Corruption - The essence of Decrease, Compression Decay, Weakening.
Elemental - The essence of equilibrium between magic and physical also spiritual.
Banality - The essence of stagnation
Mana - The essence of changes
Darkness - The essence of Unification, Concentration, Consumption
Light - The essence of Separation, Distribution, Purification

Its said that the Primal Energies create a cycle where Chaos Creates, Order Control, Life Improve, Death Repair, Nature Grows, Corruption Weakens, Elemental equilibrates, Mana changes, Banality stagnates, Darkness Aggregate, Light Purify and send it again to the cycle.

Another Interesting aspect of the Primal energies is the dual aspect of their interactions.
While they contain contrary concepts many times they don't conflict with each other, but instead, they help and support the other, most which can be placed under 4 types:

Symbiotic - a real close relationship between each of the energies, in which each provides a very important function/tool/power to the other.

Equilibrium - A relationship in which both each energy provides something important for the other, but at the same time cause some sort of loss.

Neutral - There is no direct relationship or a relationship in which there are no gains or loss.

Conflicting - A relationship in which both energies constantly conflict and repel each other.

Energy: Relation
Chaos - Order: Symbiotic
Life - Death: Equilibrium
Nature - Corruption: Equilibrium
Banality - Mana: Conflicting
Darkness - Light: Conflicting

      hahaha~
      Don't worry @JinVodka ~
Magic is a very open subject on AG
and you don't need to worry even one bit about having to the change it~
the Primal ones are the part of magic which we took to make a lore about so the players can use as a base while developing their own magic system~ ^^

you can still develop your lore in any way you wish~ ^^

Thanks for doing this bit of the priestess corner @Bielt, it's much appreciated~!
I was wondering, would elemental spirits come under elemental if there is a ruler over them? Like my pact-spirits have a queen/goddess who rules and protects the spirit realm...would that fall under the primal elemental magic, or the divine magic?
