@hilexcruz recently made a blog asking about this. Here are some of the methods that you can adopt. Things may get a lil real at the end. Not my usual kind of jk posts.

1. Dog and owner method : In this method you are the dog and you are your own owner. The novels are the treat and youre a good boy when you study. Just like how you give treats to your dogs when they are a good boy you can let yourself read novels when you study a certain portion you yourself decided. This method can be very effective when done from the start. But not so much when the exams are near.

2. Binge streading : This is the method i adopted but its not at all recommended. This is only to be done when you have no other choice. In this you will binge read the novels you are reading till the part where the story is not at a cliff hanger and will not make you want to read more. And then you will binge study the stuff you have for exams. The side effects of this method includes slight hallucinations, exam time problems of tension and also you may be irritable.

3. Goldfish reader : Side effects of this method includes loss of interest in novels and also socialising and also renewed interest in reading in some cases. Make yourself so busy for a while that you dont have time to read. After a while you will either lose interest im reading novels (the interest will return after some time )or you will come back with more thirst. This method is unpredictable and you are your own judge of what the putcome will be.

4. Spoiler bomb : Warning, very extreme method. This is to be employed only and only if you are ready for it and after you have thought things through. If you know that you cant do any of the steps above and wants to study then you may do this. Read the spoilers of all the books you are reading till the latest chapter released in the raws. Doing this will make you lose all interest in reading the novel. And you will be free to study.

So, above all this you could just stop yourself from reading and just study. Consider it as a challenge of your will power or for all the chuuni guys out there a tribulation that you will have to overcome to succeed in your dao. Just remember that at the end you decide what you do.

i often read after reviewing or rewriting my notes (studying). I'd read for an hour and then give myself a pop quiz to check if I retained anything from what I've studied. It works for me. Distracting yourself is an effective way to retain what you learned. :blobparty:

      And what about agenda method??
You know the one where you can only read at set intervals or during times when you can only read or wait?(like in transports)
I think it is a good way for your reading to not impede on your studies.
