Leaning against the wall near the bed, Speer gazed aimlessly in a daze.

All the events of the pass few days came back to her in a rush. Finding herself thrown into a cave out of the blues, being made a dungeon master, meeting Ecquira, seeing a monster for the first time and fighting it ……

She had even killed two humans.

Though she had not directly killed them, it was by her orders that they were killed. She did not regret it. They had been scums, well beyond any point of salvation. If she had hesitated, she would have been the one that ended up dead. She had had no time to even think of being lenient with them.

Still, killing someone was a taboo. By Speer’s measure, it was the worst crime that could be committed. Even as she realized the standards of this world was different, she could not help but feel an aversion for what she had done. She felt a decisive change had taken place within herself. She had changed from what she had been just a little while ago.

“…My hands look like they’re soaked in blood……..you’d think it would be visible like that, but I guess not, huh?”

Speer continued to look intently at the palm of her hands.

Her eyes shimmered, casting a red glow. But as she took a deep breath and blinked her eyes, they returned to the black calmness of before.

“Yeah, I shouldn’t just say - act like it couldn’t be helped. I made the decision, after all, to take a life. I need to face that fact. And with that firmly in mind, I’m going to go home, no matter what!” declared Speer. Her intentions renewed, she stood, her hand clenching into a fist.

She started stretching to chase the sleep away from her still sluggish body. As she stretched, she finally took note.

“They changed my clothes for me. Was it Miss Ecquira? Or maybe one of the maids?”

She was currently wearing nightwear consisting of a shirt top and bottom pants. The white material was soft to the touch. An abundance of frills was used to decorate the nightwear; along with the round buttons, it presented an adorable picture. Loosening the buttons at her chest she checked and saw she was still wearing the same underwear.

The flat hills were still bound by the soft cloth and she still had her spats on as they probably mistook it for underwear.

“Guess it’s all right to stay dressed like this for now? It’s certainly comfortable to move in. Now all that’s left to do…”

Vocalizing her thoughts, she started to leave the room, intending to wash her face.

The hallway was also another unfamiliar sight, but she continued ahead anyway. Not too long after, she saw someone at the end of the hall.

“Good morning.”

“Oh, goodness. You’ve awakened. My apologies for not noticing earlier.”

It was the housekeeper from last night. She stopped in the middle of her cleaning and primly bowed her head. Speer was currently being treated as the guest of the Duke. Though she may only be a child, it was natural for the servant to treat Speer as her superior and pay her respects accordingly. By custom, there should have been a servant in attendance from the moment she had awakened.

From Speer’s view point, it seemed an extravagant welcome already. Especially given the times; though if it had been during more normal times…..

“Please, pay me no mind. I mean, you do seem to be a bit shorthanded, after all.”

It's been hot, busy, and still looks to be busy - at least until mid-September for a while. Guess you have to work when you're at work? Even if it is your break time.
