Oooh! The plot is getting interesting in the latest raws. Ilya wants to find out the truth about Silvia's murder in the first lifetime, as she realizes that someone was aiming for Silvia's life. Recap of the latest arc:

Silvia's mother was actually the princess of a distant country, and her father her escort knight. These two were in love and came to this country to escape civil war, but in fact, the princess returned to her country. However, she didn't want her lover to marry someone else, so she had her maid, Ilya's mother, marry him to serve as her substitute (basically to keep an eye on him). At some point however, the princess returned and had a child with Ilya's father. All this was kept secret I believe, but Ilya eventually learned the truth in one of her lives.

Ilya's mother was stressed all this time due to being abandoned in a foreign country. When she was pregnant with Ilya, she felt more stressed than happy. Also, she saw her husband happily with the princess and their newborn. She promised the princess that she'd love and protect the princess's child more than her own, and that's exactly what she did, something about her husband loving Silvia (or more precisely, Silvia's mother). I guess it was her own way to capture happiness.

In fact, to 'protect' Silvia, Ilya's mother has been poisoning Silvia all this time so Silvia would be sickly and unable to leave the home (uh...). Ilya recognized the medicine from one of her past lives when Silvia shared some tea provided by her mother. It's actually medicine, but when used by someone healthy, it affects the organs, so Silvia's condition isn't natural. When Ilya confronted her mother, her mother killed herself. She then repeated the scene and prevented the suicide, basically what Rink0 said on page 5.

Eventually she had a talk with Marianne who talked to her about 'Fate'. She decided that the starting point of all this is not the tea party, but Silvia's first death, so she's determined to uncover the truth. She tells Soleil about Silvia's background, then tells him that someone is targeting Silvia's life and made him promise to protect Silvia. She then has Soleil accompany her to where the first 'robbery' took place. They go alone, because Ilya doesn't know who else could be involved. When they arrive at the scene, it turns out the mastermind is someone they know, who in fact came from another country.

It turns out the country where Silvia's mother is from had been divided since the Queen died, because there is no successor. As Silvia's mother is the younger sister of that Queen, Silvia herself became an eyesore, so they aimed for her life. Worst, at that moment another person shows up, and it turns out that he's Soleil's best-friend (now confirmed to be a traitor). The chapter ends there.

So basically, there are a bunch of things going on. What's also interesting is that there are two other people besides Silvia who may be aware of what's going on, Marianne and... that traitor friend of Soleil apparently? I'm a bit confused because of google translate, but either that friend or the guy from another country visited Ilya in prison in her first life and told her to give up fighting against fate. It also raises the question, have the people besides Soleil been manipulating him (or just bad-mouthing Ilya, for example) so they can push the blame onto her after killing Silvia.

Anyway, I'm a sucker for these time-loop stories where the protagonist starts confused, but ends up uncovering a whole plot.

Yeah, it's the fiance. Soleil means 'Sun' in French.

Hmm, this chapter seems to imply that no, Silvia is unaware of the time loop. I thought Silvia recalled things from her previous lives, which is why she was afraid of death and clinged onto Soleil, but if she recalled things clearly, she wouldn't be returning to this spot a second time. She also called out for help, so it means she didn't go to a trap on purpose. If she does recall anything, it's very limited at best.

Poor Ilya. She obtained information now, but she can't exactly go straight up to Soleil in her next life and say 'Your best friend is aiming to kill Silvia.' I suppose she could arrange for more people to interrupt the attack, but if that person really is aware of the time loop as well, then he'd change his plans in the next loop. Still, why does he bother since everything will loop again? >_<

I'm not sure that Marianne knows about the loop thing. She seems possessed when she talked about that "fate". Though I don't know about Soleil's friends.

Basically there're this two guys who was said to be friends of Soleil (and both betrayed him). The first one is the red hair guy whose name I don't know. This red hair was supposed to be Soleil best friend even from the first life. If you already read the dream that Soleil see, he was the one who told Soleil "do you want to be a murderer" and also the one who visited Ilya in jail.

The other one is Saion (I'm just reading the katakana). This guy, it seems Ilya only met him in this life if I read correctly. And he came from the neighbouring country. Also the guy who I want to smack in the head because he was teasing Ilya a lot.

And is it only me or Soleil actually think about Ilya more than Sylvia now? Like how he said he didn't reply to her when she was sick was because he wants to tell her directly. And that they have much time ahead to spend together. And when Ilya was raising the death flag he also noticed it and said "it feels like this will be the end", and he actually search the Ilya before the tea time. And when they both walked in the forest. I get the feeling that he was going to do or confess something to her but distracted by Sylvia's scream.

Anyway Ilya's really raising the death flag now isn't she :(

Edit: I bought the novel and... there's an extra chapter written from Alfred's PoV (Ilya's knight who killed Soleil in the first life and run away with Ilya in the nth life). I hope he will get more role in this 'final' life xD

About Marianne, well, Ilya noted at the start of the series that Marianne's situation changed a lot: she went from not liking her fiance to being completely in love with him, and even became good friends with Ilya. That along with the mention of fate makes me think she retained some memories of loop, but then again, it could be at an unconscious level, like how Soleil dreamed about the first life... Did she sound possessed? Huh.

lol Soleil sucks at surrounding himself with good people. He had this crush on Sylvia and all this time his friends were plotting to kill her (wtf).

And yes! I wanted to remark on the fact that Soleil seems to care more about Ilya too! In this chapter, he said he believed Ilya when she told him about Sylvia being targeted, and he seemed quite upset at Ilya putting herself in danger. I wasn't sure though, since Ilya noted from the start that her husband usually acted perfectly like a gentleman to her (it's just that he doesn't really care about her like he does Sylvia), and in Soleil's dream, he did intend to treat her properly. That said, I didn't make out most of the stuff you just said (when using google translate), so I really need to try going over those passages again. I wonder if Ilya still loves Soleil at this point though?

Thanks for clarifying the bit about his friends by the way. Now that I re-read Soleil's dream, the 'friend' seemed quite upset at how Soleil treated Ilya after the false accusations. Was he the one who saved Al, who then went on to kill Soleil in that first life? (so messed up x'D )

I feel bad for Alfred there. Ilya did try to run away with him in one life, and they both got caught immediately and he was killed. And Ilya thinks he doesn't really love her and is just excessively kind, I mean is that actually a thing? >_>

Well Ilya noted that Marianne seems different when she talked about those fate and a minute later Marianne seemed to already forget about the talk. Though I agree that their relationship change as the life repeated. But it's not only her as Ilya also said.

The other one was the red hair dude. Ilya and this dude never interact with each other in the previous lifes, but in the current life he saved Ilya from falling on the stairs and show concern at her. He asked if she was sick and all. Even trying to touch her cheek to make sure she wasn't sick.
This red hair was the one who cried for Ilya in the first life and the one who was bad mouthing her too. In the first life he visit Ilya in jail and said sorry to her while crying.

My speculation is, he said sorry because he was one of the murderer or because he might actually has a feeling for her and can't protect her. Maybe he badmouthing her to Soleil was a way so he will break the engagement. I don't really know. But his attitude towards her in this life is a bit strange. If he actually hate her, why would show her concern like that (chapter 11 of the last arc). But then again in previous life he also praise sylvia instead of Ilya on her wedding day. That's rude to praise the lil sister instead of the bride.

And Soleil, yes he always act like a gentleman but... really I think he changes too in this life xD maybe he is not completely in auto mode like the previous ones. I'm liking this 2 new chapters because the two interaction is so intimate! And ofcourse Ilya's character development which makes me love her even more. I guess she still loves him. Though currently she doesn't hope her feeling will be returned.

About Alfred. He doesn't live his own fiance for sure. As he choose Ilya over her. And he mentioned it himself that he doesn't hold any feeling for his fiance. As for his feeling to Ilya.. I don't know. Might be pity, loyalty or maybe affection. He doesn't mention it.

One thing is, Alfred is a hottie!! More than Soleil lol

    > One thing is, Alfred is a hottie!! More than Soleil lol

Most important information for last? :p

Oh-hoho, now I'm curious about the red haired dude. There's no chance of him being the crow or anything, is there? A very interesting point is that he talked about fate during Ilya's first lifetime. Is it possible that he had lived through several lifetimes before Ilya started being aware of the time loop? If so, could it be that these time loops really weren't about Silvia, but about Ilya? I could see this guy avoiding Ilya if he tried to approach Ilya before and it caused Ilya's death, for example. And perhaps he'd been unable to prevent the love relationships from forming (Soleil being in love with Silvia, and Ilya being in love with Soleil). In fact, it'd be ironic if he orchestrated Silvia's death the first time to give a chance to Ilya, though a bunch of things don't really fit in that case...

Well, I appreciate that he seems to care about Ilya, but eeh, the way Ilya's first lifetime turned out... it's not really enough for him to try to talk sense into Soleil about Ilya not being the murderer when in fact, He is the murderer, lol.

Regarding Soleil and Ilya being more intimate, it sure is nice, but it'd be nicer if it weren't over trying to save Silvia. xP

I do like Ilya's character development too, by the way! She's quite determined now to get to the bottom of things, even though there's no guarantee of a good outcome for her. In fact, I like her character. Even though she can't help but resent her sister for taking away her fiance, her reaction isn't to try to hurt her sister, but on the contrary to keep her sister safe (and I doubt it's just a matter of not making Soleil hate her). I find that makes her a really good person deep down.

I only read the translated chapters, it is kind of confusing to me when it suddenly jumped from her current life(?) to the first life without noticing. So to sum it up, it is like this:
    - 1st life: Illya engaged to Soleil => Soleil got in auto-mode => tea party thingy => auto-modeSoleil and lil sis fall in love => Illya and automodeSoleil married => lil sis died => automodeSoleil dumped false charges on Illya => Illya died in jail => automodeSoleil used the service of brothel(?) => Alfred killed automodeSoleil
-2nd life: Illya got engaged to Soleil => tea party thingy => the shameless two fall in love => Illya changed from quiet (1st life) to aggressive to please Soleil => they married => Illya got pregnant => lil sis died => Soleil doubted the child's blood => Illya died after giving birth
-3rd life: engaged => tea party => Illya remembered her previous lives => got in confusion and acted as crazy => the crow appeared => Illya asked the crow to protect lil sis => Illya got married to Soleil => Soleil and lil sis shamelessly made a kid => Illya got locked up => the crow spilled mysterious words => Illya hung herself to death.
    Am I correct?
Wah... this novel is so depressing. I thought the most suffering character I've known would have been Kaneki, but now Illya has shared the same place ( ̄- ̄)
Though I've read the translated chapters of Soleil's POV, I still cannot put a liking to him. Auto-mode or being possessed or what, he was still the main cause of Illya's suffering. But at least he didn't hate her really.
Anyway, the knight guy is great, I hope Illya can just kick Soleil's ass and choose Alfred instead. I have the feeling that the happy end for everybody would be when Illya can overcome her painful unrequited love for Soleil

If you only read the translated chapters then you are missing out on some bits because I think there are some missing chapters from between the latest translations, which is listed as v5 and the previous chapters in v4. Also mentioned is the reason that Illya cares about Silvia is that Silvia saved Illya's life once by preventing her from being kicked by a horse.

After she dies in the Third life, there is a section that I am not sure if is her remembering or the life directly after the 3rd one, but it talks about Illya trying to run away with Alfred and Alfred then dies. Then Alfred's fiancee was introduced and talks to Illya a bit and blames her for Alfred's death, so Illya resolves to run away alone next time.

And so next time, Silvia somehow has made a recovery and so Illya thinks that it would be a perfect time to run away because Silvia is already set up as a replacement for her. Ans so Illya runs away alone, but gets robbed and then enslaved (I believe that was what happened). After that happens (several years I think) Alfred comes and rescues her and takes her back to the Marquis house where she meets Silvia, Soleil, and their two children. However, they have a hard time verifying that it is Illya that Alfred rescued. Then Illya dies shortly after from illness. After this section comes the Soleil POV chapters. It should also be mentioned that during this time is when she learns about the poison that the mother is feeding Silvia.

Forgot to mention, but I am hoping for not Soleil as the final character. I am also interested to know more about the Crow.

No new chapter yet. Guess we just have to be patient xD it's nearing the ending. At this point I'm not even sure if in the ending Illya will be paired up with anyone. She might finally have a peaceful death... as in not looping anymore. Whatever it is hopefully she can finally be at peace :")

This is the only novel I'm currently... "reading"... where I don't even hope for a happy ending, but at least a peaceful death. (I say "reading" because, yeah, no, not brave enough to actually read, haha.) But despite how masochistic this novel is I think it says something that the readers root for Illya's happy ending regardless. Good job, author! Now write more please sob

    And... the story updated...
Prepare some tissues before you read this chapter! I don't want you guys covered by tears and snots like me.

So the red haired friend (finally named Edward), nearly betrayed soleil because I guess his family was put into hostage by Saion. The first half part was just Saion talking crap about his country (mostly about the previous chapter in which Sylvia is a noble from his kingdom and next to inheritance). Saion explained that Sylvia being targeted was mostly because of Ilya. First she brought Sylvia to academy which make Sylvia more eye catching to the noble and targeted. This actually can be prevented if Sylvia was married by Soleil, so her name will bare Soleil's family name and thus she became permanent resident of this country and cut all connections to Saion's country. Saion always recommending marrying Sylvia to Soleil, but he always replied with "Ilya's the one for me/it can't be anyone else but Ilya" (damn I can't hate him now). Saion goes crazy and edward suddenly betrayed saion by taking care the two subordinate and explained, his family love him, so no matter what he did they will always love him. That's why he can't betray his best friend (Soleil), or else his family will get angry.

Then another subordinates came out (about 7 if I'm not mistaken). Edward take Sylvia away from Saion and he joined Soleil to fight the jerks. Soleil's shoulder got pierced, but he finally managed to land a fatal wound at Saion. What he fails to do is not noticing that Saion actually take the blow just to put an opening for his subordinate to kill Sylvia. Luckily Ilya realized this and put her body to protect her sister. A knife was stabbed thriugh her chest and she hear Saion laughing "No matter how much you protect your sister, she will always be targeted", before she lose consciousness.

When Ilya regain her consciousness, the battle was already over, edward and soleil got some wound but not fatal. Ilya then asked edward to carry sylvia first as she has something to talk about with Soleil.

Guess what? Yes, Ilya asked Soleil to leave her behind because her injuried are so grave that she will only hinder them. Soleil was persistent not to leave her behind, but no matter how he wants to carry her, his wound prevent him to do so.

Ilya tells him that he should just leave her because he doesn't really love her. And she lies to him that she doesn't love him either. Than Ilya remember when her mother died (the scene where her mother commit suicide), her mother must felt the same like her now. Because if she doesn't love her why would she desperately keep her eyes open and look at Ilya's face straightly. Just like how she look at Soleil now. She wants to remember him. And maybe, what her mother really want to said at that time was, "I'm sorry to never be able to love you properly" instead of "I never love you".

I guess it's obvious that Soleil know she is lying and she just says that so he can move on. He moves his face closer to her and close his eyes (did he just kiss her?), before finally let her go.

And as Ilya consciousness fade away, she can hears Sylvia screaming, that she believed Ilya actually love her. That Sylvia knows from the start that Ilya does love her. If not why would she protect her to that extend. Ilya thought that if her selfishness can be called love than that would be great. She wants to apologize to her but her voice won't come out. Everything is starting to get dark around her. She then recall how she wanted to be loved by her parents, how she wanted to be just like her sister, getting married to Soleil, be his wife and support him. But then she thinks, even if this is the last time and she never acquired what she wanted. This life is not so bad. If it is like this, it's not that bad.

And at the end of Ilya's consciousness, a voice was heard.

    "I finally found you."
    "My Princess."

THAT'S RIGHT PEOPLE! THOUGH IT'S NOT MENTIONED I GUESS WE KNOW WHO SAID THOSE LINES. THE FRIGGIN CROW FINALLY MADE AN APPEARANCE ON THE CLIFFHANGER!

God this chapter makes my heart goes up and down and my tears flow a lot.

OOH... wait, all this could basically have been resolved if Silvia married into a high-ranking family? (according to the raws, Soleil's family is famous and a marquis family, so if Sylvia marries into his family, it would basically be seen as pledging allegiance to this country, so I guess she couldn't just marry anyone else)?

But this chapter certainly does explain a lot...
    - Soleil's friends were badmouthing Ilya and praising Sylvia so he'd marry Sylvia instead (... jerks)
    - Ilya's mother might have been at least vaguely aware of the problems occurring in that other country, so poisoning Sylvia and keeping her out of sight might really have been for Sylvia's safety (even if she weren't aware of the details, if Sylvia's mother had told her that Sylvia may be targeted because of the uncertainties back home, she may have decided that she had to hide Sylvia at all cost). I wonder what went wrong and caused Sylvia's condition to worsen in the second life though...
    - The life where Soleil and Sylvia got married was the life where all ended relatively well... except for Ilya, of course.

I wonder what makes Ilya think this would be the last life though? I mean, there was already a life where Soleil and Sylvia ended up together. Though truthfully, if Ilya Still reincarnates after all this, it'd be pretty awkward (then again, which reincarnation wasn't?)

    It's a cliffhanger aaah!
