    As I see it, alot of novels here focus on murdering, stealing, tricking and finding fourtious items in the pursuit of becoming stronger and noticed that in every novel the is basically no set standard as there is always a hierarchy situation that ends with the mc thinking that he would be better suited for power than everybody else. In a sort of wishful thinking setting where there is no chance of them becoming worse than what they hoped to replace. Playing with the notion that to lead is to be powerful and to provide benefits more so than to have ideals on how the world should be. Vilification of what is the norm, while the cycle repeat like a beaten track where everything fades to black and the things that stand out from the darkness catch our attention, we assume that it is a light, a way out but is only a different shades of grey.
