News volare Halts: PtW, EEWC, HM, CCG, GDK

    Hello everyone,

    Given the large amount of announcements we just dropped in 24 hours, I wanted to make a post and collect everything in one place. Speaking as volare's site owner now, the ones mentioned above are yes, all Qidian novels. All translators involved have seen what has happened in the last 36 hours and reached their own conclusion on the way forward. I support them in whatever they choose.

    I myself am apologetic as I dearly wish every novel on volare could be seen through to completion. Nothing is more satisfying than the final page of a delicious novel. These are all wonderful novels led by fantastic translators (& teams!), much <3 to them for sharing these fabulous stories with us for so long! I understand these decisions can lead to frustration and nonacceptance, please feel free to express all that at me and send the remaining nice thoughts to the translators.

    I will not be actively recruiting translators to pick up these novels, as I have done in the past. Given the general uncertainty of the situation and understanding why folks are phasing out their novels, I don't think it'd be a responsible move to place another person in the same situation and get reader hopes up that it might be finished. If any changes to the situation are decided upon, I'll be back to quickly update the post. Please send your love and support to translators making this tough decision!

    Well looks like its back to Google translating/ MTLing those novel... Qidian move on WW more like banning English translation of their novel than supporting it...

    i miss those times when i feel like a young kid excited about the soon to be translated chapters, i miss those days where translator only care about translation, like a kid doing their assignments before playing,. but its sad to know that time make people grow up,. and time changes everything,.

    No worries, I/we as community will respect all of translators decision. But i will curse the one who make all of this happen.

    I'm boycotting Qidian. Wishing for more to join me. I'll quit reading Chinese Translation if Qidian is putting a paywall on their site. I am not currently reading any Qidian novels, but the people Qidian are targeting are my favorite site/translator. So fuck Qidian, fucking garbage.
