I did not say Alyschu was a mod. I said OverTheRanbow, who works with Alyschu is a mod.

The burden of proof is on qidian, until the litigation is done it should be assumed that the truth is how it was before. The translator had the rights, and they say they didn't give them away... Simple as that. Until qidian proves that the translator is wrong, it should be assumed that the legal right is where it has always been.

Which is why NU is keeping the links to WW and not linking to QI postings of those novels.

Anything beyond that breeches their neutral stance.

The point is QI say their agreement with WW allows them to host the 20 novels that WW licenced and since the TL gave permission to WW it should carry through to QI. WW disagree thus legal dispute.

Seeing QI act like ancient era wokous, I will read QI novels on aggre sites. Nada traffic to QI.

If we're assuming that qidian indeed is aggregating, I still think it should be a site ban. That being said I've been made aware of wuxiadream and know it's not a qidian specific exception. So while I disagree with the action, I do understand now that @Tony is in fact keeping his modus operandi and maintaining neutrality. Sorry for suggesting otherwise. I disagree with his punishment for this kind of situation, but that's his decision

Fact is that it's public knowledge we doesn't take the translators rights and just hosts. Ww wouldn't have the ability to give others host rights just because they can host it. It'd be like asking to host your friends novel, and the selling your host right to others... Not a thing.

On the other hand, WW isn't authorized to make such an agreement, and the Translators need to be directly involved in such a deal.
We know from the translators themselves that no such deal exists and that they've not authroized the use of their works on QI.

So from that aspect, we can say that QI is certainly hosting those illegally.

The trouble with that is that by taking a stance for one or the other, even if one side is obviously in the right, you're not staying neutral. Which is fine for us readers and forum users, but it's against NU's policy.

Unfortunately they've already displayed that they will host original work from aggregators so it is in fact neutral. Stupid and wrong imo, but they are in fact remaining neutral :/

hmmm can't really say the translation that was poached/stolen or something could be removed from NU but the other translations which aren't should remain 'cause 'twill broke the neutrality stance

To my understanding, partial aggregration has never caused a site ban before. The rule isn't "no aggreagtors" but "don't advocate piracy".

Only total aggregators have been banned, and the typical action has to been to only link to the source that the translator approves of.

That said, I can respect your stance.

I just wanna say... taking side and showing support is fine, but don't be a cultist.
Maybe keep it at reddit or something...

Not to mention there's already exclude group feature.
