Xie Lian is a run-out-of-luck person, extremely unlucky. But he has to roll the dice highest score to save a fellow god who was stuck on the air by Hua Cheng cuz he had made a rush in the (demon) casino. Since he is very unlucky, u can guess the score haha :3 but HC realized him and said that he would teach XL how to roll the dice correctly. Xl came over and met HC, HC took advantages by holding XL's hands and pretending teaching him how to roll. XL had to roll many times to get the highest score while HC still holding his hand lmao, took him a while to realize that HC had tricked him lol. Its sooo hilarious that all the demons that were there had asked :" If not now then when will he count the score? " (basically XL rolled 6 mark, he lost but HC didn't count that, he said :"don't worry, this round doesn't counted, let do it again, i will teach u ^…^ so the demons were very shock lmao), so when XL rolled 12 mark, HC be like:" A, i lost" pffffff
And the question has had an answer: it won't be counted as long as he (XL) doesn't win :3

It hilarious that in the casino, u suppose to bet valuable things u got, even your life-span or life, but XL didn't have anything with him (he is very poor) he bet his half-eaten dumpling lmao, HC likes: okay, the demons like: WHAT????!!

Nope, i don't think so, they even think that HC's current appearance is faked, since he never showed them his real form. But XL knows, cuz HC said that he would meet XL in his real form.

You know how poor MC is when as a god, he has to run his own temple... Other gods have their followers do it for them...... It's like a CEO running a street stall lol.

On a more serious(??) note about the most interesting things that happened in ch 50:

Bit of catch-up info, there's this (Green?) Demon of the West?/East?/Some direction who wears a green open-sleeved jacket and goes by the name "Qi Rong" - he's someone ML was looking for, MC tagged along I think after ML kidnapped(?) MC back into his arms from the heavens (sorry for the vague details, my brain's exhausted lol)
This guy called Lang Qian Qiu used to be a kid MC had taught sword-fighting in the past but there seems to be a misunderstanding?? between them because LQQ thinks MC killed the Xian Yue imperial family(??) which MC didn't deny. :0

It’s reasonable to say that people are unlikely to be aware of their figure from the back, however, that is not the case for Xie Lian. Towards how he looked from the back, he is more familiar than anyone else.

That year, after the defeat/destruction of Xian Yue country, in order to vent their frustration, the populace burnt down his Ba Tian Crown Prince Palace hall1, overthrew all the portraits of the Crown Prince, plundered the sword hilts of their precious stones and scraped the gold off of the clothes2. Yet they still harboured undissolved hatred. Consequently, there were people who’d gradually thought out a new kind of punishment and that was custom sculptures - the type of kneeling stone statues.

Taking the former highly worshipped clay model of the Crown Prince to become one that was kneeling in guilt (of a crime), the people responsible spread far and wide/to numerous places, enthusiastically promoting that these simple stone statues could disperse calamity when spat upon with saliva or flogged. Even going one step further by directly turning the model to prostrate in a kowtow position; in order to replace the doorstep (statues), thousands of people to ten thousands of people were supplied. In the one or two decades following the destruction of Xian Yue country, these stone statues could be seen in many towns and villages, how could Xie Lian not be familiar with how his own self appeared kneeling down from the back view?

    --skipped stuff

After he (Qi Rong) spoke, he sat down on the Zhang Hua Li bench, legs raised with a pair of boots placed on the shoulders of the stone statue. Going as far as to use the stone statue as a footstool.

Xie Lian directly clutched Hua Cheng’s arm, sensing him move forward faintly with one step and promptly pulled him to stop. Still feeling that pulling his arm to stop was insufficient, and thus traced a word in the centre of his palm: “Thanks”.

Hua Cheng recognised this word, bowed his head before glancing at him. Xie Lian’s gaze was full of gratitude, thanking him for his kind intentions. Following this, Xie Lian also softly shook his head as he wrote the words: “Listen” and “Heaven”.

Hearing Qi Rong’s words, it appeared that his servants that were sent to go about doing something, and the Heavenly law court - both had some relation to the deity government. As for the sculpture acting as a person’s footstool and so on, thinking back to how it’s acted as even a doorstep, naturally he did not feel that it was a big deal. In any case, that was merely one stone nothing more, it wasn’t like that was the person himself. Although it was simply to briefly write those three words, but the two’s gaze joined, Xie Lian soon became aware that Hua Cheng understood his meaning. Hua Cheng slowly grasped the hand tighter, turning his head, the expression on his face could not be seen.

    --skipped more stuff

Since he came to find the Qing/Green Demon, now that he met Qi Rong, he ought to have shed his disguise. Xie Lian couldn’t help but greatly suspect that with his strength alone that could kill in all directions, no person could possibly obstruct him. Yet, Hua Cheng did not transform back into his original form at all, rather, draping the skin of a common juvenile instead and strolling forward over.

A few Qing Yi small demons one by one suddenly brandished their weapons, asserting with vigilance, “Halt! What have you come to do?!”

Qi Rong tilted/raised his legs while speaking, baffled, “What’s with this youngster? Seize him.”

Hua Cheng nevertheless, said laughingly, “Xuan Rue’s royal kin is present, aren’t you all going to pay a bit of respect?”

Hearing these words, not only Qi Rong, Xie Lian too was startled speechless.

In a flash, Qi Rong abruptly sprung up, under the mask uttered a voice seemingly laughing despite the extreme fury, “You have great nerve! Appearing in my presence and starting this sort of joke?! Why don’t you tell me, which branch of the royal family are you from?!”

Hua Cheng said unhurriedly, “An Le Wang.”

Suddenly, Xie Lian felt that the Lang Qian Qiu tilting doll in his mind appeared to struggle from its crooked angle.

An Le Wang, together with Lang Qian Qiu were in the same generation of the Xian Yue imperial household’s descendants. An Le Wang himself, together with Lang Qian Qiu could be described as friends.

Qi Rong’s contemptuous laugh passed through the mask, “An Le Wang? I see that you’re courting death! Who told you to come to my place here to pick a fight? Did the person who told you to come not give you a patched up history book? An Le Wang is already a branch Xian Yue imperial family that could barely survive, moreover this branch already died out long ago! What are you, to dare try passing yourself off as Xian Yue’s royal kin in my face?”

Hua Cheng’s brow ticked upwards when he spoke, “Oh? Died out? How did he/they die?”

Qi Rong ordered, “Capture him! Capture this eccentric fellow!”

From this one command, some ten Qing Yi small demons from caverns all around rushed forth, shouting unendingly. Among the disordered herd wielding magic, Hua Cheng smiled faintly.

--Cue violent intense fighting scene or smthg.

Just hearing a loud thumping noise, that gorgeous Hua Li bench front, in a split second, sand and stone flying as smoke and dust surged forth. Xie Lian grabbed the child to protect behind his body, blocking a few stone pieces and waited for the smoke and dust to disperse when Qi Rong had unexpectedly vanished. Cautiously looking around again, it was not that he had vanished so much that Hua Cheng had slapped his entire head deeply into the ground with one hand/sole of his foot.

Within the cave, every person and every ghost/demon shrieked, scattering in all four directions as Xie Lian spoke, “Don’t run wildly!”

If by any chance the demon flock in the cave were to be alarmed into killing people on sight, how would that be any good? Of course, as usual, there was no one who would listen to him. Xie Lian withdrew his hand, without a choice. He currently cannot manage the bystanders anyways. At the side over there, Hua Cheng slowly crouched down, one hand grabbing the hair on Qi Rong’s head. Taking hold of the head dripping with blood and pulling it out of the wide hole split in the ground, he successively lifts up the body to observe for a moment, then, as if considering it extremely interesting, laughed out loudly.

Although smiling, but the emotions in his eyes were serious and deeply disharmonious, making one feel absolutely terrified. As if a nefarious evil flying out, Xie Lian turned his head, instinctively perceiving the turn of events not going too well, “Young Third? Young Third!”

Qi Rong’s mask had split from the top, almost cracking, splinters falling piece by piece. Spitting out a mouthful of blood, he shouts loudly, “Guards! Quickly obstruct him! Everyone come over and block him!!”

Hua Cheng just now had been violently beating him towards death, yet now seemed very leisurely and carefree as if he was taking part in a chat talking about this and that on trivial matters, giggling, “Ah, you didn’t know? There are some things in this world you can’t obstruct/prevent. For instance, the sun setting in the west. For instance, ants trampled on by an elephant die. For instance————Me demanding your life!”

After saying this sentence, his sinister and fierce expression revealed itself completely as he took Qi Rong’s entire body lifted by one hand, and suddenly flinging him down!

Once more with a huge sound, Qi Rong’s body is thrown down onto the floor such that you might as well say that he was being toyed with like mud on the beach. And so, the Zhang mask on his face, with a soft sound, shattered into pieces and exposed half of the face.

No matter who looks at that half-exposed face, all would discover one astonishing fact:

Qing Demon Qi Rong and Xian Yue’s Crown Prince - one a ghost/demon and one a deity, both are heavens apart and yet unexpectedly, share a striking resemblance!

    /END CH 50.

omg, almost forgot about the footnotes lol numbers to give extra details but 0 info given :
1 - 八千太子殿 dunno what to call it, but its a palace hall for the crown prince.
2 - it said clothes but my mum told me that it could also refer to those golden statues in temples maybe? Apparently that's what happened to the statues in temples near poverty-stricken towns/villages. People would scrap gold flakes off of the statues/clothes and collect them to boil into a small chunk of gold to sell for food/provisions/etc. Have no idea if that's true so if anyone's aware, please do clarify if you'd like (thanks if you try)(y)

    {Please once again note that I'm not focusing too much on tenses and am paraphrasing a lot because going by exact wording is too high-level for a procrastinator relying on a dictionary and Baidu lol ( ╥ω╥ ) - Rant time: so many sentences came up cringey when I tried to phrase it into comprehensible english - my heart hurts to read those words now OTL and even one of the sentences was incompletely translated and ended abruptly because I was so confused, I'll try to clear that up later. I actually cntrl C+V'd this straight from a document with the full ch that still needs to be edited so if the spoiler with stuff skipped seems really dodgy - that's because it is. Sorry, that's my best crack at translating chinese. I'll link to a copy of the doc when I'm completely sick of it if anyone wants? Beware eye-watering wall of text. Seek medical attention immediately upon feeling the slightest bit nauseous, headaches or any other symptoms of consequent ill health.}

Anyways, big plot twist at the end of that chapter- my brain's pounding but my heart's so happy. MC, you should know that you can't really keep yo' yandere husband back from fighting for your honour lol.

@alexfilia Thank you very very much for tagging me in the other thread!! - I'm off to bed before I can enjoy the new addition to my BL obsession. <3

ARGH! Someone's already rated the novel one star!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW FAST THOSE TROLLS WORK! I don't understand how a novel can be rated so badly when only one chapter's been translated???
Not even mentioning the story, even the translation quality was good too so what's up with all that dissatisfaction with a novel that's not even completed yet?? The story's still establishing the setting!! At least give it a couple more chapters before giving a one star rating because that's demoralising to see off the bat, yeesh...

As a poor n00b on this site, how does one go about rating a novel? Are the stars from a review counted?? Is it a must to review to rate the novel or are those two separate? Any generous user out there willing to enlighten this hopeless case? (´;ω;`)

Both just rating it and rating it with a review are the same.
I just gave it a five star and didn't write a review. My stars didn't go through yet though lmao

Cough. Don't know if anyone still wants spoilers but I can't help swooning over the latest chapter (54) so...excuse my word vomit:
    CH 51-53

Turns out though Qi Rong looked very similar to MC, there were still some minor features that were a bit different that made him distinguishable from the MC overall (narrower eyes I think? And general meaner look to him, lol) - the reason for this is because QR is MC's younger cousin from his mother's (?) side.
He's also the one who had led and helped the people to vandalise and destroy MC's temples + also the one to come up with the kneeling stone statues of MC.
ML's "Luke, I am your father" "I am An Le Wang" announcement was actually a fake-out which was part of his scheme to get QR to admit he was the one behind deaths of Lang Qing Qiu's parent's deaths(??) while LQQ was there to hear about it. (Dunno how LQQ appeared out of nowhere into the cave but he did and heard + interrogated QR while also roasting MC a bit regarding that incident).
What happened was that ALW was not actually Yong An country's person but actually Xian Le's person and more specifically, QR's subordinate or at the very least, obeyed QR. ALW was sent to purposedly befriend LQQ to later betray, making LQQ lose his family and "friend" since ALW later ran to QR for cover and was given sanctuary(??).
This was sad because that made LQQ lose faith in people - in particular, XL people - upon realising. He now also thinks that MC's words, guidance about how XL people and YA can possibly overcome their differences to join hands together and coexist peacefully someday (something that MC really wanted LQQ to believe in) was all bulldust and pile of rubbish.
It didn't help that in earlier chapters, when LQQ first recognised MC he or some other higher-up had questioned MC on whether MC had truly killed LQQ's parents that day as he had witnessed. To which MC had replied with a resolute 'yes, it was me'. Combined with how much MC hid from him, LQQ lost his trust in MC.
Hearing LQQ say that YA and XL living in piece is a pile of dog shoop + his reply to MC when MC tries his hardest to convince that things have indeed changed and for the better too between the two countries is heart-breaking because LQQ's a bit of a puppy in my eyes. Can be headstrong but still trusting until QR's words screws him over so it hurts the feels a little + LQQ cried during that conversation/interrogation (I might have a thing for crying puppy-like disciples
    coughLBHcough)
Another sad thing was ALW was the one to kill LQQ's dad. QR was mocking LQQ for putting MC into the coffin and condemning his own Shifu ( MC) while the actual perpetra(i)tor was making a smooth getaway to safety.
    Ouch.
QR is quite cynical about MC's wish for both nations' citizens to live and mingle happily together because he saw it as the YA emperor wanting to actually "step on XL people's heads" while parading around as if he truly accepted XL citizens. (Bit foggy about that part but I think that's somewhere along the lines of what QR was sneering about to MC and LQQ)
In fact, QR was a bit of a sad case too because no matter how crazy and wild he presents himself as (he was really crazy, bruh. Especially when he recognised MC), back when MC was still loved by everyone and the XL country hadn't been ravaged by MC's actions (interfering in mortal matters as a god), he really admired and worshipped MC - apparently whenever he opened his mouth, he was always calling out to his "cousin-brother"
After the incident of XL's destructions, he went thoroughly mad and did everything he could inflict (emotional) pain to MC. MC always tolerated his behaviour and when it was too much, simply hoped to never see him again. which was why after years of not hearing about/from QR, MC had even thought he may have died - facing QR again as an enemy, was still reluctant to beat him since QR is the only other blood relation to MC that is still hanging around on earth but MC couldn't stop LQQ either due to guilt.
(MC even told ML later after that ALW and QR were originally very good people)
LQQ is all grimly resolved, slashes QR in half and dumps him into the pot QR uses to cook and eat humans with. QR's all laughing madly saying how whatever LQQ did it didn't hurt because it's got nothing on MC's hits. (QR at one point got punched for the first time in forever by MC when he was blurting out mean stuff to LQQ) And even goads LQQ to do worse as he melts into literal nothing in that boiling soup pot of acid. ML who's been angered several times during the course of this convo whenever QR was spitting vitriol to MC and calling MC names (he had to be calmed down by MC - ooh, MC's hand on ML's shoulder hoho), was quick to tell LQQ how to get rid of QR permanently which is to get his ashes. All the while MC's reeling from how different (more vicious) LQQ has become after hearing the truth and hardening his heart for revenge. LQQ leaves after slicing the soup pot and vowing to retrieve QR's ashes to offer to his parent's grave, also challenging MC to another duel or smthg
Once LQQ's left, MC upset, questions whether the truth about that matter was important or not and why LQQ had to know it.
ML answers that it is very important that LQQ knows the truth, about what MC did and didn't do.
MC blows his top a bit but is quick to apologise to ML to which ML admits he was wrong (for how he went about it - I don't think he regrets clearing up the misunderstanding) and the two are so cute because there are no hard feelings and MC just sighs (talked a bit more where you realise that he truly feels guilty about the matter and how he felt that he needed to suffer to repent. That he will never forget LQQ's expression in that moment) just sounding so tired and sad while ML stands there and quietly listens.

CH 54 - Welcome the Warm Fuzzies

MC and ML locate and release QR's live pantry (Loling at "fresh ingredients cave") aka the captured humans, setting them free.
While doing so, MC asks how ML knew QR was the guilty party and MC admits he didn't know. MC knew because he figured out pretty early that it was something QR would do because of his hatred towards YA is kinda obvious with all the provacations he threw left and right. ML actually thought the Guo Shi ("country division" courtesy Google-senses) was someone QR sent over until LQQ revealed that MC was that very same Guo Shi so ML promptly eliminate that Guo Shi from list of suspects and quickly deduced using clues.
When MC asks how he found out that QR was the one behind it when he wasn't the one to commit it directly and ML replied that he didn't know QR was the mastermind but rather, he didn't believe MC was the one to do it.
    (//∇//)
Another point in the convo I was so happy to read was when MC says that he feels in this world, it's best not to have any hope in people. When you look at people in such a beautiful light, and then when you gradually get to know them/ the more you get to know them, the more disappointed you'll be when you realise how different they truly are from how you'd initially perceived them to be.(´;ω;`) poor bby
Hearing this, ML disagrees, saying that what MC thinks is not neccesssrily the case. He doesn't care whether other people are disappointed or not but for a small number of people, that a certain person is on this earth, it is a form of hope to them.
Upon hearing this, MC paused speechless and stares at ML, his heart floating. ML stops and looks back at MC when MC asks him after a long pause, "Young Third, in the end just who are you?"
"You know who QR is. You know that I am the crown prince. And you know me like the back of your hand. You know a lot."
ML answers with an eyebrow raised, "Don't I always know a lot?"
    MC: "That's not the same."
MC takes out his Thinking Cap, strokes his imaginary goatee, musing aloud that he's always felt that ML was somewhat familiar, like someone he's met at the time he first "soared" or even earlier. But he can't recall ever seeing him before.
"Who are you? Have I met you before?"
    ML smiles without replying
MC remembers that ghosts don't like to reveal their true name and apologises.
So timely, an acquaintance MC's been hanging around throughout the novel arrives. That aquaintance sees ML and is quick to brandish their weapon. MC tries to cover for ML, pulling ML behind him but ML pulls him back and gets injured. That acquaintance freaks a bit.

    /End of chapter
AHHHH I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK THAT HUA CHENG IS
the kid who fell of the wall during the procession MC was doing back when MC was 17... WOAH, WILL WE GET A YOUNGER!ML topping again??? //ecstatic \(//∇//)\

In other news, I've been heavily procrastinating lately which explains my somewhat increased activity on NU forums lol hell it long

First, they were sooo unsatisfied with the Mc 's way of dealing everything. Haha gosh i don't fuking care they weren't satisfied or not, this novel was written by the author, NOT THEM AND NOT FOR THEIR SATISFACTION . They have the right to feel unsatisfied but they DON'T have the right to call it trash and force author to pls them.
Second, cuz this novel has many details that involved some policy problem like country territory border. Yes it does have that kind of elements but they just over reacted and drag Chine-Japan policy problem to compare. I was like :D ???? What's wrong with them??? Can they just enjoy the novel?? Or they want to show how knowledgeable they are?? Author herself has said that she wrote this novel not to bash any thing, she just wanted ppl to enjoy her work, read it and discussed in peace. Like it, pls enjoy, don't like, pls gone. No hard feeling.
