What came first the egg or the chicken ? I am calling upon all brothers, sisters and unspecifieds to help me solve this Ancient riddle.
If we're being funny, the egg, since dinosaurs laid eggs. In truth, the life form always comes before the reproductive system, which in this case is the egg. Before that life forms would reproduce in different ways, and eventually become chickens. Unless you prefer believing in an alternate reality where bacterias or whatever evolved into an egg and magically became a chicken afterwards. (while the egg would be unfertilized since there's no hen either).
There isn't a question to it. Its the egg. Whether you are talking the individual lifecycle, it starts with an egg. Talking by species, the first animal to be able to be called a chicken would also be born from an egg, and going even further, eggs in general predate chickens by millions of years. Or a humurous answer. the egg is had at breakfast and the chicken is dinner, so the egg.
Dinosaur, as "The present scientific consensus is that birds are a group of theropoddinosaurs that originated during the Mesozoic Era. A close relationship between birds and dinosaurs was first proposed in the nineteenth century after the discovery of the primitive birdArchaeopteryx in Germany"
My answer is the chicken. Why? If it was the egg it wont survive long to predators and environment. Meaning the egg came later as the previous generation produced the egg. As the chicken was able to survive. Then again if we go into more detail and include.evolution and only pertaining to chickens then egg might really be the answer since the previous generation might not be a chicken and produced the egg. So...im contradicting myself and might change my answer to egg...
The road came first. See "why did the chicken cross the road" and "what came first, the chicken or the egg" actually answer each other.
Pretty sure incubators do that all the time. Doesn't actually need a chicken to do that. It just needs to be warm... and not eaten....
