so I use a ad blocker it works everywhere for awhile usually a month or so. then it stops working until i install a new ad block. Is this usual? It must be that both ad blocker and ads are trying to out do each other right? because I go in a loop eventually going back to the same ad blocker and it suddenly works again.

It's not a big of a deal tbh, if you notice an ad then just install it again, but since QI appeared I dont adblock on the sites I read anymore. The best solution is to buy adblock

adblock stops the script of adverting site, to do that they have to be able to identify adsite.
adsite see that they are being blocked , so they change their script to pass adblock
    adblock need update...
    rinse and repeat

personally i use noscript, which let's me choose which script any site uses manually, counterpoint any new site i use, i have to decided which script are the minimum requery to run normally

just update your adblocker from time to time.

and yes- some ads evolve to beat adblocker- as adblocker evolves to beat ads.
and obviously, the ads just evolve faster- since they are trying to circumvent the current adblockers.

thanks, what a crazy endless cycle between the two. honestly sounds like the ads lose though if theres always at least a single successful adblocker around. (at least in my case)

Which ad block are you using? For example ublock origin has 3rd party filter lists which can be auto updated. You can also easily create your own filters via the drop tool for those that slip through.

There are fake adblocks on the web that will instead open up different webpages. If your adblock doesn't seem to work, check that you are using a legit version.

Well i do believe that the use of your extensions are out of date or something to do with error in proper use of your browser...
