Isn't Kafka the guy who wrote 'The Metamorphosis' or something...

Where the main character is turned into a gigantic cockroach and how the people around him treat him as a cockroach.

Like DiCaprio but instead of Oscars, in Nobel prize.

I think the most famous novel is Tokyo Blues, worth read.
He has a novel c alled "Kafka on the shore" and the protagonist is named Kafka Tamura

Kafka is... Kafka is... Kafka is your worst enemy!! Don't know how much you talk about him in your country, but here in Germany... he scares every student. Exams about him are worse than your worst nightmares :sweating_profusely::sweating_profusely:

Yes, not too sure about what is the correct name in english, but it should be something like that. A writer of my country. He is more popular overseas than here though. He wrote quite a bit. His books are usually dark, grim and full of feeling of helplessness. Also, most of them are unreadable (as deemed by my former class teacher and nearly every teacher I have met when I still studied on grammar school). Metamorphosis is one of the decent ones, or that is what I have heard... Well, read it for the leaving exams and it is ok. Lot of connections with his life in that book (as in nearly any one of his books).
As for personality, it seems he was way more beta than beta males in japanese isekai stories.

The bug that he turns into is not specified. The character and the work itself is an existencialism question / metaphor

    Yeah, Kafka wrote 'The Metamorphosis'.
He's an austrian writer that lived from 1883 till 1924.
The Metamorphosis isn't only about the main characters change, but more about all of the casts changes.
And Murakami is a japanese author.
In a lot of his novels are surreal elements and references to Pop culture.
He also wrote a book about running and there's a café themed about him (I think it's in Korea).
Murakami said that Franz Kafka is one of his Idols.

btw i also bought one of his books called 1Q84.

Tbh, at first arc i thought his details are too repetitive and just reading it is a tiresome work, but when its enter the second arc I started to think its interesting, and certainly want to read more, but because that time i am having final exam i postponed it, and idk why now i didnt continue reading it.
