Time to get some original books on shamanism from this family though. I wonder if shamanism is frowned upon in the East or something.

 

I bet it is a girl. I'm just glad the author is pacing himself now. Then again some big ass fight will happen soon he can't let Theo rest in chapters long. He does it just in time skips.
So if semi understand correctly. When you go to the 7th stage or master level you have to create your own understand or path? So Theo is trying a fusion of too OP magics but now adding eastern martial arts to it.
I just hope he breaks through in a non fight so sick of breakthrough in fights in all novels.

 

Fire/ice - balance / synergy - eastern. Sounds like the typical Yin-Yang or that symbol, Taiji or something? He'd probably end up balancing body and magic too.

 

Hmm i see maybe he can go a step further and unique some martial arts style with certain elements. Fire and Swordmaster looks like a match while Ice and Eastern could match.

 

Now that he's becoming more and more proficient in fire and that he's the master of that fire grimoire he should be able to learn that original copy of the fire spell that nobody could learn, the one in the library of his kingdom that Veronica told him not to choose. Now he just needs some more ice/water related forbidden stuff/grimoire/original books.

I'm wondering though, since he can pretty much 'master' anything his mind understands after studying the theory and then consuming the books, would he be able to master all these things you mention or would there be limitations on the human body with having to choose one power system, i think it'll end up being this way yet he'll overcome it and become a dual user or something.

You know, this is the first Korean novel I have read where the Chinese are civilized and respectful... I'm pretty shocked. Usually it would be like "China thinks of their people as sacrificial pawns".

Well Arena had once chinese guy who was decent but he was an exception and ran away from china... it could be that too.

 

I was thinking that too...maybe they were driven out because of their different beliefs. Lee's family seemed more typically depicted types.

and I get the feeling that the enemy kingdom with swordmaster is Japanese people depiction

 

There's no similarities to Japanese there, the entire society they have more closely resembles the western medieval / savage countries than anything oriental, not to mention that the people he met from there happened to be blondes.

The whole 'i lost so my life is yours' isn't limited to Japanese culture.

 

Chapter 160: more original books for Theo to absorb. But how many are there and how will he get them all? Offer to buy them or take them in exchange for lessons. Wonder what the rate will be~

 

He can probably just have them all since it's 'looked down upon' in a culture of martial arts. I wonder if battle song can be taught / used as a shaman though.

I wonder if at some point in the story he'll write his own original book on something he created, possibly even for the new version of shamanism he'll develop for the kid, to replace the lost ancient scrolls and stuff.

He can just make copies of the book using magic and eat the originals. Remember, the books aren't precious because they are original books, but because the magic to copy them doesn't exist in China. They probably wouldn't care whether the books are copy or original as long as they get to keep there collection.

 

Isn't the student only a few years younger than Theo? Lol. Don't tell me the others would think he had a child as a child himself? xD
