"Again! Again! Promise me you'll accompany me next time!" Aevhera giddily shouted in her language.

The mermaid happily swim mid-air, even though it's my telekinesis doing the work. I've picked her off the wyvern, then was about to fly back when I saw Eun-Ha stepping into the clearing with mouth agape.

"Eun-Ha!" I greeted. "We're going to have some lunch, care to join us?"

When I reached the place where the dead wyvern was flying around I reached a clearing and as I expected, Reachii was the one making it fly, the thing is that the wyvern was bigger than I thought making me unable to close my mouth.
Seriously, she is too strong.
Besides Reachii, was the mermaid, Aevh if I remember correctly, who was swimming in the air, it's Reachii who is controlling her right? But if mermaids in this world are supposed to swim in the air that would explain how she appeared in the forest... No it's definitely Reachii, I can even feel the mana coming from her towards Aevh. Since she was swimming so naturally it scared me a little for a second.
Reachii stopped controlling the wyvern and she saw my stupefied face and casually greeted me and invited me to have a lunch with them.
"Hi Reachii and (said in rough mermaid language)Hello Aevh (said in rough mermaid language)."
It seems that Reachii is taking good care of Aevh, I am glad, she even gave her my ring... wait even though I already learned this language I'll need that because I heard that many races are going to come here, oh well let's ask to return it to me after I make Aevh learn to speak human language. Oh wait the lunch invitation.
"Yeah, I also want to lunch with you two, but before that let me look for my alchemy tools I left behind the other day when you suddenly send us back to town flying."
After saying that I started to look for my portable alchemy tool set.

 

Spoiler: The Inter-Species Meeting

The sound of footsteps filled the guild hallway. Of course, those footsteps were mine as the whole hallway has been emptied. The reason for that is because most of the guild staff is inside the big hall in front of me, attending the guests there. I was only a few steps away from that door and I stopped. Sound of paper flipping could be heard as I recheck the list of guest in this important meeting.

“This might be a bit more difficult than I expected.”

The number of participant, although not that many, is still more than I expected. So, what can I do? Just go with it, I guess. And judging from the loud chattering from the other side of the door, they are getting impatient.

I took a deep breath and then pushed the door, creating a creaking sound. What greeted me is a complete silence as I moved onto the podium. After that, I looked to the participant of the meeting that has seated themselves in front of me.

First is the representative from the Oakenlake Kingdom of the elf, Princess Emelelyn Oakenlake. She wore a dress befitting of a noble lady. She looked at me with eager eyes, clearly awaiting good response to her plea for assistance.

The second one is also an elf. But unlike Emelelyn, she wore a tribal dress that covers her entire body, leaving only her face to the open. She is none other than the Ithlon Tribe Chief’s daughter, Erdatiel. For some reason, she looked fidgety and nervous. Calm down, would you? I’m the one that is nervous here.

The next one is the emissary from the Mermaid race, Emissary Venn. For some reason, it still made me wonder how a mermaid can travel on dry land. Since it might be troublesome, I avoid asking for now.

Then next is the one I’ve also met, the Kobold chief, Kayla. She might be the smallest of them all. But I could feel her determination will not lose to any of them. I respect that.

And come to the second biggest guest of this meeting, the representative of the half-orc tribe, Gurukk the half-orc shaman. As expected, for one that dapped his life into magic, I could feel energy flowing out of him even from this distance.

Last, but definitely not least, is the Acting-Chief of the Tauren tribe, Chogan Cloudsnout. He is the biggest of them all. But although he has a large stature, I could feel a hint of gentleness in his eyes. As expected of a race that valued peace and tranquility.

And of course, the many adventurers of this guild, mainly the one that is involved with the mission regarding them. Gabriel the goblin @Evil_Ginger that escorted Kayla with the utmost passion. Khaos the mask maker @Zero300 that has escorted both the half-orc and the Tauren. Martial artist Villan @ForumObserver and the sleep knight @Napknight with his entourage that has escorted the mermaid emissary. And also the guildmaster himself @Ldyrdy .

With that many guest, I am feeling a bit nervous. But then I saw Erdatiel flashed me a thumbs up. That somehow relaxed me a bit. Thanks. I then took a deep breath and then looked straight at each and every one of them.

“Good day to all you, honored guest and honored adventurers. First allow me to give you my gratitude for gathering here with us. I am the guild representative, a tinker, Shadow. I will speak in behalf of the guild, not as a representative of the human.”

Just as I said that, some of them started to murmur. But I ignored that since I need to say it first to avoid any misunderstanding.

“I will get into the heart of the problem. At the moment, wild monsters have been roaming the land. In the beginning, they have been nothing but simple nuisance and pest. But as time went on, we, the guild, has found that their number has been increasing in an alarming rate.”

I stopped and looked at each of their reaction. So far they are still listening.

“At first, we thought that they are just a simple phase that will be gone as time went on. But unfortunately, that is not the case. We have seen them to be more ferocious and wilder than before, endangering everyone. I’m sure that each representative has seen the damage they have done.”

Both Emelelyn and Erdatiel nodded while Chogan let out a heavy sigh, probably remembering his father that is still in coma.

“Then we, the guild, investigate them and found that with each day, the problem has become much more worrying. Due to that, we have been sending our member to slay these menaces over and over again. But no matter what, we can’t completely finish the job. Sure, we managed to make our city and the surrounding safe and free of them, but for how long? We are also not able to help the refugee of our previous war with the orc to find a safe place for them to live. That is unacceptable.”

They all nodded. The half-orc nodded especially hard.

“Then a request came from the Elven kingdom of Oakenlake, and then also from the Ithlon tribe. Both have been suffering the same attack as ours.”

The two nodded with a saddened expression.

“And then we also heard from the Kobold clan who has tried to gather several races to defend themselves from similar threat. I have to applaud their honorable way of thinking.”

Kayla nodded while she blushed slightly. I could see Gabriel puffed out his chest, feeling proud. Why are you the one that is feeling proud?

“Then we also have the Tauren clan, which has suffered the same attack. Fortunately, the half-orc has been spared from that fate. Just as the Mermaid clan too, although they are a victim of a different threat.”

The three also nodded at that.

“And then we, the guild, felt that sending help will not be of help.”

Just as I expected, the guest let out a silent gasp. They were trying to say something, but I silenced them with my hand.

“No, we, the guild, are too weak to help them at the moment. Just look at us. We aren’t even able to help our refugee. How could we help them? But do we want to help them? We want! We desire peace! Why wouldn’t we want to? So what is the solution?”

I scanned the audience for a bit before continuing.

“The solution is to work together. We, the guild, propose an alliance with each and every one of your honorable tribe, kingdom, and clan. Alone, we cannot achieve that peace. Only by joining hand we can achieve that. Each and every one of us has their strength and weakness. We use what we can to help the other. Manpower. Fighting power. Knowledge. Everything. We, the guild, believe that it is possible to do that. We can achieve that.”

Then the guests started to become noisy again. I waited a bit before continuing.

“For starter, I will present you with this.”

I snapped my finger and the door opened. A crate was wheeled in by the staff and I told them to open it.

“Inside is a variety of equipment and tools that have been developed by the guild member over time and has proven to be able to repel and detect monster. We will give this for free to every one of you as our proof of friendship.”

Immediately after that, their eyes glittered with excitement. This is getting better.

“Before I ask you your answer, I will have to once again clarify one thing. I am talking as the representative of the guild, not the human race. The reason is that the guild accepted every race. We don’t discriminate, we accept everyone and anyone. I believe that if we, the member of the guild that is consisted of several different race can work together, we can also work together with all of you, honored guest.”

This time, the one that nodded is my fellow adventurers. I thank them for that.

“Our goal in the end is not only working together to prevent the monster outbreak, but also to increase our prosperity. We want to learn together, we want to exchange knowledge. We want to work together, we want to exchange culture. We want to coexist side by side with you. As friend. As comrade. Now, I ask you, will you join hand with us?”

“I, Emelelyn Oakenlake of the Oakenlake Kingdom of the elf accept and promise that we will work together! I swear it on my name as the kingdom’s royalty!”

She was the one to answer. She stood up with such strength that I was caught by surprise.

“I also accept. I, Erdatiel of the Ithlon tribe swear on my name that we will walk side by side with the adventurer guild!”

Oh, a magnificent display there, Erdatiel.

“The Kobold clan also accepts. I, the chief of the clan and newly build monster town, Kayla, promise that we will work together with the adventurer guild. After all, one of them has been very kind to me.”

Hoho, she glanced at Gabriel. Hahaha! Very good!

Then a gibberish sound filled the room. I looked at the source and find it came from the emissary of the mermaid, Venn.

“What’s that?”

“Ah, he said that he also accept as long as the guild will help the kingdom to find the one that has been kidnapping their kin.”

“O-Oh, thank you, Villan. Told him that we promised to help as best as we could. Investigation is under way even as we speak.”

Villan then translated that to …him? So the emissary is a he? I got to learn their culture soon.

“He accepts and will provide what assistant they can give.”

I nodded.

“Hahahaha! This Gurukk of the half-orc is very pleased to hear your dedication, Shadow. We will be a part of this alliance! Hahaha!”

With a very loud roar, the half-orc shaman gave acceptance too.

“We, the Tauren clan, have been avoiding the fight and we think this is the right time to join with our brothers and sisters so that we can achieve peace. Peace is what we really long for. I, Chogan Cloudsnout, swear on my name and on my ancestor name that we will be a part of this peace. We will take part in this alliance. May the great spirit be our witness to this vow.”

Then the biggest of them said with the gentlest voice I’ve ever heard, yet full of determination.

“I, Shadow, of the adventurer guild, gladly accept my brothers and sisters. Fellow adventurer, what do you say?”

“Oh, but of course!”

Gabriel shouted with a loud voice.

“We will fight for peace. I assure you.”

Villan added while nodding with confident.

“…O-Oh, I agree too.”

Sheesh. Good thing napknight companion nudge him to answer.

“I’m in. I can’t wait to see what we can do together!”

The mask maker then gave his answer.

The guildmaster just nodded in silence. Well, as long as he accept.

“Than my fellow adventurer, honored guest, brothers and sisters! Allow me to announce that the Peace Alliance is formed! May we walk side by side to achieve peace and prosperity! Huzzah!”

“”Huzzah!””

With that, the inter-species alliance is formed. This opened up a new chapter in our guild history. No. In our history of mankind.

I feel tingly after that meeting...hehehe...Kayla kept tugging my sleeves during it and I misunderstood it for something else. Apparently, she was intent on figuring out the new equipment her Town would receive. I decided to pitch in as well and toss in some beginner books on Mana control so there could be some mages that might be of help in the future. Don't worry, they are just some teachings I gathered over the years copied into books using my Copy and Paste. No need for payment. I could easily write down other books if need be.

#AB2 - Mermaid Burial Trench (B rank): The Mermaids are worried about the dark miasma leaking from their ancient burial site, a trench that is miles deeper than their city. You'll probably dies long before you get there due to the crushing pressure and the overall inability to breathe, but hey, got to humor our allies don't we? Get down there and check it out.
Mermaid Burial Trench Expedition (Part 2)
Recent discovery from Mermaid People that there is dark miasma leakage from their ancient burial site. Due to how dangerous the miasma is which could affect the mermaid people , the mermaid queen sealed the miasma by Using peculiar technology which covers the entire Burial Site inside a dome (Mermaid Capital really have a good technology developments huh).
3rd day in the morning, me and the Queen will be doing burial expedition to research the source of miasma leakage. Since I'm not a mermaid, the Queen gave me a peculiar looking Blue Cake. Insisting me to eat it, I ate the cake and the Queen explains the effect of the cake which other than dessert for mermaid people, it also grants an ability to breathe underwater and nullify the crushing pressure for maximum amount of 4 hours for non-sea organisms (I wonder if the Queen is a sweet tooth, judging by the mermaid weird invention).
As we are right at the entrance to the Burial Trench, the Queen suddenly released some of her limiter, which surprised me.
"You're a.......Mermaid Empress?!" (Villan)
"Ah, It got exposed. Ooops~."(Averus)
"Aaaaahhhh, whatever. I don't care anymore, let's get this expedition done as soon as possible."(Villan)
How the expedition progressing? Due to the Queen releasing some of her limiter, the expedition suddenly turned into walk in the park. Even though it is supposed to be B Rank Map, the enemies are no match for the Mermaid Queen (Who am I kidding, I won't be surprised anymore if she's a demigod in the future). As we arrived at the center of the Burial Site, there stood an almighty Mechanical Hydra (What the heck?!). Too bad the boss only have a majestic spotlight only to be frozen and dismembered by the mermaid queen in next few seconds, I pray for the poor Hydraloid for meeting a Mt Tai. With the boss out of the way we proceed inside the Centre of Burial Trench, there stood a peculiar looking Tech Dungeon Core . The Tech Core apparently is a new addition to the Burial Trench, not even the Queen knows why the Core is inside this Burial Trench (This also will aroused mermaid people curiosity in the future alongside with adventurers crazy researchers). Finishing our expedition, we return to the Mermaid Capital before the Aqua Cake Effect ran out.

Those mermaid that floated around is using somekind of wind magic. They can't do that for a long time if they don't have vast amounts of MP or a good control of it.
