    Racial/elf chain quest

today i go to the guild hall accompanied by new frien, Silver. He just recently get healthy, but he seems so eager to go to the wilderness again. When i check the notice board, i take quest to help the preparation of defending an elven village. Mom said she came from nearby elven village, perhaps it is hers? I don't know very much about mom's hometown because she never told me anything. Anyway, i take the quest and make necessary preparation. Since my rank is D, my first priority is to patrol the surrounding area, but because i can prepare traps, why not boosting the elf's defense while at it.

When i arrived at the village, everyone looks so busy. Aside.of the elves, there are some adventurers also help the building defences. I report to the village elder and ask him about my assignment. The elder looks young, you know, elf, they seems to stop aging when reach certain age and have long lifespan. For people like me, the half elf, we also have long lifespan, but the difference is that my connection to the nature is less sensitive than the elf, also regarding the use of spirit magic, I'm more like human. I mean elves have natural ability to connect with nature and spirit, but i who dont have natural ability to communicate with spirits have less sensitivity to the nature elements. Back to main issue, the elder tells me to patrol the northern area. The warn me to be careful, because the treants seem usually more aggressive. But before i depart, i help put some traps near the surrounding area. The standard trap is the pitfall. Then also i put some traps like bear traps and also some traps which when trigg will release arrows, some are coated with deadly poison.

So after helpin to boost the village's defense, i depart north with silver so patrol the surrounding area. Approximately one hour since i began patrolling, i encounter treants. While the have strong defense, but their movement is very readable and slow. Coating butterfly with corrosive poison is one way to deal with them, but by using this method, the quality and the quantity of the materials which can be harvested become lower. Since i don’t need many materials right now, i killed 5 treants after coating butterfly with corrosive poison. When i want to harvest the materials, i notice something strange with the treants. Their woods looks pale and brittle. Even if they are affected by the corrosive poison, it should not be like this, so i decide to investigate further.

About two hour later, i find a small hut. From the looks of it, the hut has been ransacked recently. There are a lot of medicinal and poisonous plants in where used to be garden and there's a small ditch behind it. I enter the house. There are many broken flask and potion container. I think, there was a fight and not a fair one, bandits perhaps. From the looks, the owner was an alchemist, perhaps bandits found the hut, ask for protection money or simply want to rob. There are also some broken flask behin the house, just scatter around. I dont know, perhaps the alchemist was panic and threw everything to bandits. Everything including poison? When i have this thought, i quickly check the water in the ditch. The water has strange smell. It seems that more than 5 type of poisons were mixed. And if this was the cause of treants corroded body, then i just can report it. Since i don’t know what kind of poison were mixed in, the easiest way is to have a water mage clear the water. So after this finding, me and silver come back to the village and report it to the elder. The elder was surprised to hear my findings. It seems an alchemist named Albert lived in that hut. Sometimes they do trading for poison or medicine with him. But in this last three months, Alberta never came to the village again. Then the treants also began to act more aggressive. After i got the approval stamp from the elder i head back to the guild to report today's quest.

@Ldyrdy heres the chain quest for B-rank:

After receiving the chain quest for B rankers from the guildmaster, I quickly called for Blackie and jumped on his back. We flew towards east towards Rainforest Vale. In a matter of minutes, we reached the forest. I scanned the grounds below and found the forest boss south of Oakenlake Kingdom. The forest boss was a chimera - a deformed flying beast of lion, goat, and snake hybrid. This creature was huge and could breath fire and spit acid. Currently, it was rampaging and eating a nearby herd of animals.

I summoned @Napknight, "Napknight, use Absolute Sleep!" I exclaimed.

Shiyo appears and cast Absolute Sleep on the giant Chimera. However, though the Chimera faltered a bit, it resisted the spell due to its strong mentality. I stared at the monster and thought up another solution.

"Blackie! Use Cry of the Nightingale!" I urged.

*SCREEEEEEEE!!* Blackie sounded out towards the giant Chimera, causing waves of Darkness-type sound attacks to invade the monster's mind. The waves poisoned its mind and caused confusion and dizziness among other mind debuffs. The Chimera faltered, its mind's defenses broken through and weakened. Then, seeing the Chimera's defenses lowered, I had Shiyo cast Absolute Sleep again. This time, the Chimera fell asleep. It seems that even though the spell worked, the Chimera could wake up anytime. So, I cast a fireball filled with Flames of Wrath at the Chimera. Just before the fireball reached the Chimera, it woke up and rolled to the side; however, not until the fireball hit its right wing. The Chimera tried to put out the fire but to no avail since the fire of Flames of Wrath will burn until there's nothing left to burn. The Chimera made its decision and bit the end of its wing and forcibly tore it off.

Without one wing, the Chimera cannot fly. Now, I have an advantage. I started firing fireball after fireball at the Chimera. The Chimera jumps to avoid, its mouth grinned as it thought about how simple my attacks and attack pattern was...but then it realized...that it was trapped in a encirclement of fire. There was nowhere to go and it could not fly away either. As it tried to determine a way to get out of its situation, Blackie hits it with a fire attack and a Darkness attack afterwards. Getting hit by both attacks, the Chimera collapses onto the ground. As it tries to get up, I fireballed it. The Chimera rolled around in pain but the fire kept burning...until the Chimera died and its body burned to ash.

Finished, I flew back to the guild and reported my success.

    @a101011 - heres your commissioned quest #CC1:
    @Ldyrdy

After turning in the chain quest, I once again jumped on Blackie and we headed towards Snowy Mountains, where an Ice Elemental was located. This Ice Elemental is very strong and can summon three minions to support it. Anyways, after a few minutes, we arrived at the cave in the mountain where the Ice Elemental was located in. Since we're fighting an ice-type monster, I reached in my bag and pulled out the Mask of the Fiery Demon. Putting it on, my fire attacks and affinity increases by a lot.

"You ready Blackie? Then, let's go in." I looked at Blackie.

We entered the cave and walked down the tunnel for around five minutes. Upon turning a corner, icicles suddenly shoots toward me. Quickly, I cast a fire wall in front of me which blocked and melted the icicles. It seems the Ice Elemental is close. Suddenly, Blackie looks to the left and breathed out a fireball. It seems the enemy is in that direction. The fireball hits in the distance and the Ice Elemental jumps out of hiding. As soon as it was in sight, I started casting fireballs at the monster. Some landed and some missed; however, even though my fireballs are mixed with Flames of Wrath which allows the fire to burn until nothing is left to burn, the eternal ice of which the Ice Elemental is made up of cannot be melted by any fire. Even without the fire's ability, the force of the attack still knocked the monster back.

I continued to bombard the Ice Elemental and Blackie continues to ram into it. Suddenly, the monster cast out a large amount of icicles towards my direction. I raised up a fire wall and was able to block many of the icicles...however, some still pass through and hit me in the chest. Fortunately, I'm wearing Mithril armor and added to my mask's special attributes that increase my Ice resistances, I was able to avoid most of the damage. We continued to attack without pause until a shield appears and surrounds the Ice Elemental. Three Ice Minions sprang out of nowhere and started attack us. These minions' defenses are high and it seems that they have health drain as well. While we were fighting off the minions, the Ice Elemental was recuperating. Thirty seconds later, all three exploded. The force of the explosion knocked me back and into a wall. Blood spurted out of my mouth as I reached in my bag and pulled out a small vial of Rhino+Giant Bear Blood Wine. Consuming the wine, I was able to regain some stamina, strength, defense, speed and vitality.

Getting up, I see the Ice Elemental dropping its shield. It seemed to have gotten gained someone of the minions' abilities as it started draining my health. Rushing forth, I started casting fireballs and fire waves at the Ice Elemental. The amount of health drained and the amount of health taken equaled. At times, I would drink some blood wine to replenish my health. Once I reached the Ice Elemental, I cast Melted Touch which melts anything I touch with lava and strong heat. The Ice Elemental takes the attack and weakens. Then, I cast Melted Touch on the ground and pushed the Ice Elemental halfway into the newly formed lava pit. Because of its weakened state, coupled with the constant heat and burning of the lava pit, the Ice Elemental could not escape from the lava pit.

Biting my finger, I drew a symbol of sealing with Maker's Essence filled blood onto the Ice Elemental and performed an powerful Blood Seal. Chanting continuous incantations, the blood fused with the Ice Elemental and sealed it in place. Once sealed, I drew a circle of blood around the lava pit and set the blood on fire. The blood filled with Maker's Essence won't run out of effectiveness and the fire made of Flames of Wrath won't burn out. After I've finished the seal, I jumped on Blackie again and flew back to report to client.

@Ldyrdy Guildmaster, this is the chain quest for C-Rank
    "This is quite a surprise."
I mumbled that as I rode my spider toward the Elven domain. Usually the guildmaster never post such an urgent task without any explanation. Just hearing that it is an urgent task worried me. Combine that with the various reports regarding the attack on the elven capital and their surrounding worried me even more.
With that in mind, I packed my weapons and load a crate of ammunition to my spider. It has become rather heavy, but my spider with its enhanced legs could easily take at least three times of those.
As I passed several elven villages, I could see traces of fighting here and there. Burnt houses. Mangled corpses of both monsters and elves. A lingering feeling of magic energy in the air that somehow sickened me, similar to those that I feel when I was scouting the orc demon's army. But somehow...the lingering magic has a sense of gentleness to it. I don't know. Strange.
Then suddenly my ears picked up a faint sound of scream. I quickly directed my spider to that place and readied my weaponry. Since this is a war, I need to give it everything I could.
A few second later I arrived at the source of the scream. I saw a group of elves being chased by a big tree. It was a treant. I then pointed my crossbow at the treant and then pulled the trigger. The drill bolt managed to make a clean hit, but since the treant has no internal organ, it is still chasing the elves. I then put a single explosive bolt into my crossbow and aimed at the large hole that the drill bolt left. The bolt managed to get inside the hole and it exploded. Due to being inside the monster, a crack appeared on its body and it started to fall down, and ceased to move seconds after that.
    "Are you all right?"
I approached the group of elves. They all looked at me with fear visible in their eyes.
    "T-Thank you, f-for helping us."
One of them stood up in front while looking at me with fear. The elf in front of me wore a thick green robe and carried a staff that seemingly made from twisted branches.
    "Don't mention it."
    "M-May I ask you something?"
    "Hmm? What is it?
    "W-Why did y-you s-save us?"
Oh, no. I know this pattern. And the ones behind her were trembling on their knees. Sheesh...
    "...Why are you asking that?"
    "Hii!!! I-I-I'm sorry! I d-d-didn't mean to o-o-offend a great Wiya'khiy such as yourself."
...Sheesh... I then jumped down and landed near her. As expected, she took a step back in a hurry. Am I really that frightening?...No, probably my spider is.
"I'm a human. A human that came from the Adventurer City, tasked to assist the elf to fight this invasion."
    "H-Human? You?"
"What? Do I not look like one?"
    "N-No, no, no! I didn't mean that. I m-m-mean I never sees a Beelee tamed by a human."
"Because it is not a Beelee."
    "Eh?"
"This here is a vehicle. A tool. I built it myself."
    "R-Really? W-Wow...it looks so real."
"Enough about my spider. Why are you running away?"
She then started telling me about the whole invasion. Apparently she is one of the mage corps that is assigned to guard the village. She said her name is Fafina Thehhona. The group behind her is the villagers. It seems that while they were evacuating, these villagers was ambushed by the monsters. Fafina separated herself from the others and rescued them. Unfortunately, a wild treant managed to track them down and gave chase.
I then offer to escort her and the villagers to the nearby elves post. I also said that I need to meet the guard's leader to send a letter from me to the capital. The force in the capital need to know the trap I set or they might hurt themselves.
Fortunately, we didn't come across any dangerous monster along the way. The only thing that approached us is the large insect. A single shot of the explosive bolt is more than enough to deal with them.
Due to that, we managed to reach their outpost quite fast. And, just as expected, they panicked the moment they noticed me. But thankfully, Fafina quickly explained the whole thing. I then gave one of the guards the letter that contained the matter about us planting traps to protect the capital. I hope the letter got there in time. If not...let's just say that I can't be blamed. I've send the letter, right? With that done, I think I need to get to my main mission. But Fafina grabbed my hand just before I could jump back to my spider.
    "Where are you going?"
"To the forest again. I need to investigate the cause. That's why I'm here."
    "Take me there!"
    "Huh?"
Is this girl all right? This is not a pleasure ride, you know? Besides, you were barely able to stand when the treant chased you. Of course, I didn't say all that loud.
"I need to redeem myself! I...as one of the mage corps, I...couldn't do anything. Please! Take me with you! I can give support magic!"
Hmm...having a companion in this foreign land might not be a bad thing. In fact, that might make my job a lot easier. Good. I then jumped onto my spider and then reached my hand toward her, helping her to ride with me.
Fafina proved to be a very good help. With her magic detection ability, I can shoot my bolt even before my enemies came out. I also alternated from between the explosive one to the drill one according to her direction. This is great! And at first I was going to reject her offer.
    "S-Stop!"
I stopped my spider due to her sudden warning. I then put a cartridge full of drill bolt while a cartridge filled with explosive bolt hung on my waist, ready to switch.
"I s-sensed a great magic power in front of us."
Then the ground vibrated greatly. I looked around and found the cause.
"Tch! Stay silent and keep your head down."
I activate the spider stealth ability and then moved away to look for a hiding spot. Unfortunately, we can't find any since the thing that is moving toward us can easily look for us. The reason? Well, the thing is a damn giant treant! It could use its nature's blessing and detect us instantly. Not only that. That thing is humongous! I could see the top of its leaves covered head eve from my location. Without any scouting device!
With escaping is not an option, I then changed to the next best thing I could think off. Placing trap all over the place. I hit the button on the spider and it opened up a hatch under its belly. Then dozens and dozens of saw spiders and explosive spiders creep from the opened hatch. They then moved onto the nearest tree and climbed onto the highest point. This process scared Fafina to the extent that she almost fainted. What is it with the elves and the spiders? Sheesh...
I then threw several antlion traps and also blade trap. This might not do much against it, but it will be able to slow it down. And then the next is the more lethal trap, the mines. I scattered them since I don't want them to produce a chain explosion when it only touched a small amount of it. I need it to blow up when it triggered the middle one.
Now, the time to lure it toward us.
"W-What are you doing!? That monster is there!"
    "I know."
"There's no need to kill yourself for this mission!"
"Sheesh...shut up for a while, would you? If you got time to talk, prepare something that can burn the treant."
"O-Oh, burn is it? Okay! W-Wait! The treant is not going to be hurt just by a simple fire spell!"
"Don't worry. I don't intend to finish it what that fire spell. I've got a new toy I need to try."
She looked at me weirdly for a few seconds. But after I ignored her and then proceeded toward the giant monster.
Wow, this thing is anything like a normal treant. It has a much darker color and somehow its eyes shone in red. Is it a variant? But no matter, I have way to deal with it. I nudged Fafina, asking her to release her spell. She then pointed her two hands toward the treant and then chanted the spell. Second after that, a large fire erupted on one of its branch. But just as she said, eh branch didn't burn at all. All it could manage is angering the giant monster.
At this point, Fafina is screaming for her dear life. I ignored that. As I emptied my whole drill bolt that was in my cartridge, I operate the spider to run to the other direction. Luckily, my bolt managed to do some damage. But it is not enough. The damage is too shallow.
I then switched to my explosive ones and emptied the whole cartridge. Loud sound of explosion rang in the forest that day. As the smoke dissipated, I could see that the giant is only harmed slightly. But it is an improvement. I kept using the explosives one over and over again. The damage stacked and I could see some of its skin has started to peeled off.
Then the thing launched out their twigs and branches toward me. But they are all destroyed by the saw appendage I pull from the spider. It is a walking fortress.
Then as the giant came to my designated spot, I turned around and saw the treant has hit the majority of the mines. At first, the one it triggered was not the mines, but the antlion and blade traps. They all started to carve onto the monster's legs, robbing it of its stability. Then it falls forward straight onto the mine field, exploding them to pieces. But even though it has sustained quite some damage, it was not enough.
Then I called my next performer. The spiders. As I gave the command, all spiders started to crawl onto the giant treant's body. The saw started chopping the monster's body while multiple explosions came from the exploding spiders. They all invaded the small crack thanks to the drill bolts and also explosive bolts. With them entering the body, they have created a much potent explosions.
I then took a distance from the fallen treant and then pull out the main cannon. I filled it with my newest creation, the flame bomb. When I saw that most of the spiders has been taken down due to the treant's defensive mechanism, I shot the bomb. The moment the bomb hit the treant's body, it exploded into several flame ball. Then it started to ignite the leaves and then also the branches. Why does the magic failed but my bomb managed to do that? Was it because it had protection against magic? I put that thought aside and continued to shot bombs after bomb. I even alternate it with some typical bomb.
Under the continuous bombardment and also the army of spiders tearing it apart, the treant finally ceased to struggle. I was about to put another bomb, but Fafina stopped me, saying that the treant has died. I then put away the cannon, but still ordered the spiders to saw it body up. I'll bring some of them back home. Might be useful.
Fafina then jumped down and approached the still burning treant's body. I readied my weapon in case the thing is still alive. Fafina knelt in front of the treant and then put her hand together. Light started to gather on her hand. It lasted only for a few seconds. As the light dissipated, she opened her eyes and showed me a stone inside her hand.
    "What's that?"
"This is a Nature Orb. It contains nature elemental energy. But...somehow it seems different."
"Let me take a look at it."
I took the small sized stone and looked at it....Yes, somehow among the green glowing, a small black cloud is often drifting from time to time. This is...worrying.
I then put it inside a sealed chest. Fafina started to complaint that she wants that stone, but I said that I need t investigate it. The sooner that I can know the reason behind the invasion, the sooner I can stop the war. Hearing that, she grew silent and nodded. After that, I went to send her back to the outpost and asked her to guide me again if I'm here. She agreed and then I went back to the guild. I've got a stone to research and also a lot of treant wood to store for future use.

As I get on Haruka, I tell it to head to Moonlight Lake and wait till the moon shines on it to get the Moonlight Water. I also tell her about the Winged Serpent I saw last time I visited Moonlight Lake for the very same quest. She sounded interested in meeting the winged serpent but who knows if its in the lake right now.

    20min later

    "This lake is really beautiful..."
"Hehe that's what I said once I saw it for the first time too"
"So I have no idea if the winged serpent is still here Haruka, or if we have to wait till midnight when the moon is shining on the lake to see if it comes out then"
"Hmm lets wait till then, If it is still here then it'd be a wonderful battlefield when the moon is shining on the lakes fitting for that winged serpent"
    "I see.."
"Let us continue on making you stronger Fang, you've become an intermediate on controlling my powers but you have a long way to go"

    4 hours later

"Go collect the Moonlight Water so before I try and see if that serpent is still in the lake"
"I know I know", I walk towards the lake and take out 5 empty vials for the water.
    Acquired:
    - 5 Moonlight Water Vials

"How are you going lure it out Haruka? The lake is pretty deep so who knows if its still there or if its hiding."
"By looking for it and then attacking it duh, I can form Mercury Orbs and send them into the lake to find that serpent. I'm able to see what the Orbs see so you just have to wait till I find it or watch with me, your choice"

"Of course I wanna watch! Who knows how it looks under the lake", Haruka manifests 6 Mercury Orbs in the air and orders them to go in the lake to find the serpent.
"Oh wow, it looks like ancient ruins that sunk into the ocean floor...so mysterious :cautious:"

    1 hour later

    "Well its definitely still here"

"Hmm, and you want to try and tame it?"
"If possible yes! I don't have a sea monster tamed yet so I won't be able to do quests that require going underwater"
"Well this is going to be fun then" *Grins*
"Glad that you're going to enjoy this Haruka but isn't this lake way too deep?"

"Nah, just petty details. Anyway, I've never seen a serpent like that before hehe"
"Yea me either but it's so beautiful especially surrounded by the underwater scenario, this is making me want it more and more..."
    "Lets get this party started"
"...", The 6 Mercury Orbs suddenly transform into 6 long swords that fly towards the sea serpent at high speed, the sea serpent is caught off guard as it never thought it would get attacked underwater. The 6 swords hit and fatally wound the serpent, the mercury also covers the parts where the mercury swords hit with some mercury entering its blood stream. Its gonna take a while before something like that can be affected by the mercury.
    Roooarrrr!!
    "Seems you made it angry"
Haruka is repeatedly summoning Mercury Orbs and slowly pushing the serpent closer to the surface but not without a fight, the Serpents tentacle-like things coming out of its head seem to generate electricity that destroys all the Mercury Orbs that were coming towards it. Due to being so deep underwater, Haruka can't remake the destroyed Mercury orbs back and so it floats away.

"Tsch, guess I gotta make ya furious to get you out of there"
As Haruka says that she starts glowing a silver color and in the next moment there's a ton of mercury around her...seems she's gonna use Mercury Nuke.
    "Haruka don't destroy the lake!"

"Don't worry, I made it to so the Mercury sticks to the serpent"
In the next moment, all the Mercury is shooting into the lake while Haruka is producing Mercury nonstop, that's gonna hurt... 15 sec later as the serpent rises from the lake covered in Mercury, the Mercury explodes almost making me, who had gone into the forest to escape the blast, fly off into the air. Man, that's a powerful explosion, hopefully, the serpent doesn't die or anything...that'd be pretty bad.
As I look up to see how the serpent took the explosion I see a couple giant trees flying towards me... oh this is not gonna end well but before I get hit I activate my abilities that I gained from Haruka's blood pact
    Booom

    30min later

"Ouch, my head..." I mutter as I slowly regain consciousness and try to move.

"Enjoy the nap?, Haruka flies above me as I notice her wounds all over her body.
"Haha very funny, I probably wouldn't be able to move if I hadn't activated your powers. So how's the situation with the serpent? Looking at your current appearance there must've been a serious fight" I say as I slowly get up.

"It was a lot of fun, the serpent put a challenge but it lost due to not being able to return underwater and because I was able to fly around." *Grins*
"Where is it then?" I ask as I start walking towards the lake
"Its trapped on the other side of the lake when it could no longer fight I trapped it in Mercury so it wouldn't be able to get away or anything. I went to get you after but you woke up before I was able to" ,As Haruka lands next to me
"Let's go then!" I yell as I get on Haruka's back and urge it to the serpent as it's a sea serpent it probably doesn't have that much time remaining

    Couple seconds later

"Oh wow, it is covered in mercury...its pretty wounded too" I mutter as I look at the serpent that struggles to break free of the hardened Mercury but to no avail.
"Yep, now hurry up and try to tame it" Haruka urges me as she lands next to the struggling serpent
I walk towards the serpent but as soon as it sees me it starts struggling even harder making it much harder getting close to it. Eventually, I'm able to get close to its head and put my hand on its head while its eyes are glaring at me while I start to tame it.

    30min later

I slowly open my eyes to see the serpent free from the Mercury and getting in the lake. I turn to look at Haruka as she says
"I let her free since I noticed the taming was a success", wait did Haruka just call the serpent she?"Noticing from your reaction you didn't know the serpent was a she haha, seems you have some luck in getting only female monsters haha", I sigh as I say" Its not funny if every female is like you its not luck"
"Oh? then what is it?" says Haruka as she grins.
"Anyway, let's go meet with the female serpent," I say as I walk towards the lake.
"So...whats your name? I say to the sea serpent that is emerging from the lake. It seems much bigger than when I first met it...

"I don't have one,"says the serpent as she stares at me. "Ah okay, then how about I give you one. How about...umm Reika?"
"Sounds interesting, why did you pick that one?"
"Because it means lovely flower..." My face starts getting red...
    "Oh...Ty"
Anyway...we chat for a bit to get to know each other

    20min later

"Shall we head out?," As I stare at Haruka and Reika. "Yep,"They say in unison
"Reika you should enter the training space(Space in Magical Pouch), I'll let you out once we get to the sea to look for some mermaids since i don't think you can fly all the way over there"

"Ok," says Reika as she shines in a bright light and disappears inside the pouch. "Shall we go?,"
says Haruka as she stares at me."of course" as I get on top of her.
I make Reika come out as we fly over the ocean west of Moonlight lake and she dives into the ocean with a big splash and then emerges.
"Haruka I'll send you into the pouch so you can rest like Reika and heal your wounds, I'll make it 10 times faster than here to speed up your healing process"
"Okay," as Haruka is enveloped by a shining light and disappears into the pouch, maybe I should've made Haruka drop me off on Reika...I'm falling.
"Are you okay Fang?," Reika caught me as I was falling." Yea, Ty Reika. Now we just gotta find 12 mermaids and the quest will be complete"
"Ok, hold on since as you are near me you won't need to breathe underwater nor get affected by the waters pressure"

    30min later

"There's a group of mermaids attacking a single mermaid ahead of us"
"Ok, lets observe first and see before acting"
A couple seconds later we come across 14 mermaids attacking a single mermaid riding what seems to be a Hippocampus...interesting.

    5min later

So apparently the attacking group of mermaids is attacking the single mermaid because they are from different clans and because she is riding a hippocampus which made the group mad...umm okay then, well they plan to kill her for no good reason so bad luck for them we found them...
"Reika attack the 14 mermaids with your electrical attack and make sure it doesn't hurt the mermaid"
"Understood", electricity starts building up on her long horn-like things on top of her head, no idea what to call them, and electricity starts appearing around her. A couple seconds later the electricity shoots out and hits all 14 of the mermaids in the head instantly killing them...damn. Reika swims towards the mermaids corpses so I can store them in my inventory. We greet the mermaid and tell her to be more careful next time, as we're swimming away she asks for my name so I tell her its Fang.

    2 hours later

"Here's the proof of slaying the 12 mermaids" As I give em to Shad and leave after getting the reward to tell Reika more about the training space thats in the pouch.

OOC: Warning: this will take a long time to read. Also, anyone wondering why I was annoyed you messed with my story, try writing something half this length. And of similar quality.
There are probably a few errors still remaining. I read through it a couple of times but I can't be sure even now.
It ended up being 5 days instead of 3, but as game time doesn't equal RL time I figured it didn't matter. She was blazing through things too quickly at the beginning, so I slowed her down when she reached Day 2
Please enjoy your entertainment for this evening: end OOC

    QuestLog: Alliuna's Exploration Journal

I woke up again for another morning of finding two sets of wings, debating which to keep out and which to retract, and attempting to remember my dreams. I dreamed of Father again tonight... I miss him. He always kept me safe, yet in enough danger to grow stronger. He was my teacher, trainer, guardian, friend, and champion for most of my life. I miss him a lot. Almost as much as I miss mother.... I want to go home so badly. I want to have a happy family again, I want to enjoy swordplay with father and rune-scripting with mother, annoying my older siblings, being annoyed by my younger, arguing over who's turn it is to do chores, competing to be the best in all our lessons, getting scolded for doing setting wrong, praised for doing something well... I miss it. All of it.
But I shrug it off and leave my room and lair. Treasures... Well, mostly trash has piled up in the outer room I use to keep my adventuring spoils. A few pieces of gold, several kilograms of Mythril and Iridium, Wyvern body parts, and so on. Nothing compared to what I have hoarded for over a century, and absolutely nonexistent compared to what I inherited from my parents. But still, I hold on to it. Just like all the other minor trinkets I've gathered from countless worlds. In the end, Alatum Unum Sephirim will be my souvenir from this planet. The blade I made for the purpose of destroying this world shall remind me of it, how ironic.
Or perhaps how fitting. Who knows?
I'm naked again as I leave, but this time I don't bother to go back to get a robe or cover myself with scales. I don't feel like going back to the guild yet, so I might as well go elsewhere. The Distant East seems like an interesting location to explore. I'll go there then. Off to the unexplored wilderness!
    -time-skip-
Well there was a small problem with my thinking right after waking up. You see, it's called the unexplored for a reason, because no one knows where anything is in it. So as a result, after an hour of flying aimlessly above the Rainforest Vale, I've ended up sitting at a table in the Oakenlake Kingdom, wondering what happened to my life. Fortunately, the elf in front of me gave me a leaf made robe to put over my body, probably more for her peace of mind than mine. I've heard that some of the adventurers may be coming here soon, and that the kingdom is under attack by Tyrant Ents from an unknown location. But I have absolutely no motivation to care about any of it.

"Are you better yet, Luna dear?"
And now this. Stupid annoying elf that thinks I'm a child wants to talk down to me like that, I swear... What's with this desire to pet the person smaller than you's head? It's annoying woman! Leave my hair alone and we can talk about the suffix later, so for the love of Perfection please stop your hand!

Ugh... Whatever. I'm just ignoring her until I cool down a bit. Now, let's figure out about these tyrant ents I need to slaughter for some reasons or another... Something about a quest. Yeah, we can turn them in when we go back to get some profit out of this useless journey. I'm so irritated right now.

"Miss, where are the Ents coming from?" That should do it. The right amount of cute and innocent mixed with killing intent to make her spill everything she knows. This will definitely succeed...
"Why would you want to know that? Don't worry little dear, the Warriors can handle it. We don't need any filthy humans dirtying our beautiful city, just you wait. We'll be able to send them packing and depose the useless princess who went begging to their lands in no time at all.
See, I got all emotional there little darling. Just ignore what mama is doing and sit there being adorable, just like that..."
Oh god please kill her now. You know what, screw it. I'll go figure it out myself.
I dash through the city and into a warriors outpost where I hide in the shadow and listen in on the commander. Apparently the Ents are coming from the north, specifically from beyond the Trent River. I don't know what Trent is, but I do know where the river is. So I dash off again and fly north north west to wards the supposed source of the tyrant Ents.

Well, would you look at that? A whole army of Treants and Tyrant Ents is amassed in this little glade, and more are being produced from the surrounding trees. Just north of the river through the rainforest, and a little bit east of the Elven kingdom's borders... Perfect. Now let's disorient this apparent cohesion.
I drop from the sky breathing fire and lightning in every direction. Treants are blown to pieces and several tyrant Ents burn to ash in the conflagration. Good. I grab a few of their branches and set off to the south again to return to the Elven Captial. Then I'll go back to the city, adventure prematurely ended.

Or I'll miss it completely. Seriously, how did I miss that city? It's massive... And made of trees. In a forest.
Ok nevermind, I get it now.
Anyway, I was flying south again and ended up above an overgrown fortress bordering the desert and mountains. This is somewhat unhelpful, but I mark it on my map anyway and start flying northwest. Let's go back now.
Or let's stop again. My route takes me close to that city of bones @a101011 supposedly explored. He claimed the existence of several high tier undead, and a Dark Dragon. There's no way I wouldn't have sensed another of my kind this close, so I go to check it out.
When I arrive, however, the city is crawling with dragons, fallen angels, elves, and numerous other beings living in a peaceful utopian cityscape. What the hell is this? These were not here yesterday, and they certainly weren't here when I saw it several days ago. Actually, I'm pretty sure they weren't even here until I was less than 10 kilometers from the city...
And then I sense it. Essence of something very very old and very very powerful, something which should be long since dead but who's children still reign in many worlds. Ignoring the cacophony surrounding me I walk boldly through the many beings and into the center of the city. Then I go straight down.

There I find a crystal which matches all of my senses, just like the visions above. Sight, sound, touch, taste, aura, magic, force... Everything matches what I remember of this sort of thing precisely. A summoning crystal which can conjure any type of being to counter that which invades it, except for a single tiny detail it cannot know but I do.
All of these crystal were destroyed a century ago. Every last one of them.
It cannot exist. Therefore it does not exist. And so I use my power, a unique ability only I possess, to unmake its nonexistence.
Reality appears around me. The city is empty, barren, and silent. Save only for a drop of pure red blood floating in a crystal orb in front of me. It tries to speak. I don't let it. Because I recognize this specific blood very, very well.

When Existence was created, the first beings were the Primordials or Entities. Formless and composed only of energy, they had power but no refinement, no control. So they created Demiurges or Creation Gods, beings with similar power but actual control to make their creations. And the Demiurges, realizing they still had the unrefined nature of their makers, made the first true beings. Most were weak. Humans, animals, beasts, even divines and immortals. But some were strong, far stronger than their creators ever dreamed. Those ones overthrew the Demiurges and Primordials and built a new order. They were called Progenitors.
This drop of blood is from one of those, the Vampire Progenitor Vladimir Tepes, founder of the illustrious Tepes Line and ruler of all vampires in every universe. Yet he also had a second rank, a rank even higher than Progenitor, a part of the third order which came after and persists to this day. An Infinite, limitless power over a single element. In his case, that element was Deception.

This is bad. I cannot be certain what is true or not true in the Presence of a Deceiver of this caliber, and nor can anyone else on this world or in this universe. It's illusions are as real as... No, more real than reality. Everything that I saw can kill me. But for some reason it doesn't... I wonder why?

I can warn the mortals to avoid it. But for some reason it seems to take the form of whatever the entering party wishes to see... In the former's case, a realm of darkness suitable for himself. In mine, a realm of my kindred holding together in peace. These aren't nightmares. They are dreams.
I bow my head in respect before the portion of an ancient Progenitor. To create such a beautiful realm, a world of pure imagination, is worthy of respect. I simply rename the city the 'City of Dreams' on my map. It will be very useful to the mortals, I am sure. A realm where anything goes, even reality itself.

And with that I am re-inspired. Enough laziness and weakness just because things don't go well at first. I'm going to explore, whether this world likes it or not.
Minutes later I'm flying south above Oasis Village. A quick kidnapping of a farmer gets me directions to Redon Cave, where I will start my real adventure. Now, let's go!
After interrogating several people from Oasis village and finally making a deal with the mayor where I sent his problems to the adventurer's guild for the location, I got to Redon Cave and started exploring. The first thing I noticed were the fact that the desert worms that surrounded the cave and the surface layers were minor problems. The legions of beetles that came for me afterwards were a bigger issue.
Hard beetles the size of dogs ran into me as much as possible, trying to deal charge damage before being cut to pieces by my claws. Worker insects rearranged the cave behind me, making this some sort of twisted labyrinth joke. And then there were the maggots.
I hated the maggots. They just kept spitting on me, and sure it was highly toxic but I'm immune to all poisons. So it was just gross, disgusting, and annoying. Plus they were around 4 meters long, mush larger than the other bugs, and kept laying eggs which hatched immediately into smaller versions which tried to bite me. I hated all of them.
I finally found a queen just before I left, a massive maggot with a bloated body and many poison maggot guardians. Yeah, not dealing with that. I got out as fast as I could. I had long since lost my plant clothes and was naked, and while I had successfully dodged all the poison until now I didn't really want to try to clean it off from my sensitive areas or my scales. The scales would be much, much worse as it got into the cracks and I had to wash them all out before retracting them or the stuff would get under my skin... Ew ew ew. No. I'm leaving. Forget this cave, I'm done with it. Next time I'll just tear it apart with hells gate and kill everything that moves. The stupid bugs deserve it anyway.

After I got out I spent a while cleaning myself off with sand, just in case the fumes in there had stained it, before covering my privates with scales and forming them into a bikini again, wrapping myself in my black wing as a robe. I then flew south towards Delta Town with my silver wings. I arrived less than an hour later.

"Hail, traveler, what brings you to our ruined town?" A guard asked as I approached. The he does a double take.
"Wait a minute, girl how did you make it through the desert? It's dangerous for a child to travel alone!" He continued once I got closer. Annoying mortal. So I approached quickly and slammed him into the wall with one hand, holding my wing as if it were a robe with the other. I simply whispered "I am no child," and he stopped being so annoying and grew quite respectful. I should have done this earlier.
"Want a ship" I said once he stopped trying to be helpful. But he shook his head sadly.
"Sorry, we've got too many problems here. Water spiders are raiding the docks every day, and leeches get into even the tightest hull. Half our ships aren't even operational, and we've lost more cargo to the depths than has made it out to sea. And the damn sharks make it impossible to retrieve.... We're in bad shape. Sorry friend, there are no ships here."
I nod in acknowledgement and turn away. He seems to call out as I leave, but I ignore him before I fly away and circle around above the town. His report seems accurate... The town is in bad shape unless something is done to restore its reputation. Fortunately I know a bunch of mortals looking for work with too much power. Let's direct them to help out. Make them useful or something. This stuff seems pretty easy.

I fly south across the ocean. I know due south are where the tropical islands were from my orbital reconnaissance, but finding islands from right above the ocean is not easy. Before I can, I end up seeing several schools of dolphins, a few lost fishing boats, and some sharks readying to eat swimming sailors. Of course I don't save them. Who do you think I am? I'm not that kind.

Should probably tell that lazybones master of the guild to do something about all this. I'm sure he can pull it off. Or tell someone else to... Like it matters which. Results trump means, after all.

Then I see the light smudge of land on the horizon. Sweeping my wings even faster, I reach the tropical islands in a few minutes.

My landing is greeted by cheers and shouts of welcome. Shopkeepers swarm me with free samples, and women are even crying. What the hell is going on?
Fortunately, I think I found the head women. She seems to be more in control and all the others are backing off from her. Might as well deal with the boss first.
"Welcome, welcome dear traveler. Those wings... Amazing that you can reach us here! Perhaps you can bring word of our plight to the rest of the world!"
"...what?" I answer, completely lost. Of course, miss exposition continues without pause. Good... Maybe?
"Oh of course you couldn't know. We haven't had travelers in so long! And what's a tourist village without tourists, I ask? Nothing, of course! So we need tourists to come and enjoy our lovely little village to get the economy going, and maybe some workers to help us with harvesting the tropical fruits, and a bit of hunting with the local fauna..."
Make it stop! I don't get it! Why the heck is she still talking?
"Why!?" I almost cry. Unfortunately, it was misinterpreted.
"Why are there no tourists? Well ever since the flood a decade ago the trade from Delat town has been decreasing, and Swamp city barely bothers any more. Plus the western trade from the holy empire has dried up since that Abyss to the west got wider in the great sea, so..."
Abyss to the west! Going there right now. Escape plan initiated!
"Investigate abyss." I say as I leap into the air and fly west. Somehow, I know she's still exposition-ing.

I find the abyss quickly, a massive maelstrom in the ocean which makes ship travel between the south sea and great ocean very treacherous. We'll either have to find a way to navigate it, or we won't be able to connect to the human kingdom except by land. Anyway, back to Delta town to let them know.
Or drop a note. I dropped a memo with the route to the southern islands, their request for tourists, and took another one to give to the Guildmaster. Building ships in Delta town. Plenty of quests there.

After Delta town I turn south again and head for the submerged Palace. Might as well explore it to see what's up with that.
When I get there I find something quite interesting. The palace is built from the framework of a Dead Sea Serpent, a very large one. The bones are sticking out around it for kilometers... A few of these should fetch a good price at the guild. I'll recommend a gathering quest.
Within I find a number of mermaids gathering spears and poison and being very irritating overall. So I kill them all and take the bodies. Quest number 2 completed. Plus the exploration ones... I wonder how many will be done when I finish? Enough to take that A rank promotion test and come closer to outranking that Guildmaster, I hope. But either way it's fine.
Within I find several twisted halls encrusted with jewels. Well, mostly glass by this point, but once it was probably quite beautiful. I wander through the watery halls, looking at the ruined art and lost treasures. Beautiful... Even half destroyed, still beautiful.
At the bottom of the castle I find something unexpected: Aquamarine deposits. That can be used to enhance water, ice, and nature magic; quite a valuable gem. Someone should go mine it. Though how they intend to mine underwater is a bit beyond me.... Not my problem anyway. I'll just make a note.

After that it's time to leave the submerged palace with my mermaid corpses in tow. There wasn't much more in there, except some serpentine sharks and rays which avoided me... Good instincts. Probably enhanced by the serpent bones or something. Interesting, but not very important. Time to move on.

I mark one more site as I head east from the palace, a submerged volcano still spewing Ash and lava even underwater. Fire and water combined make for interesting effects...I wonder what happens there? Even so, I don't have much time left in the day. It's getting on to evening. Especially as I fly away from the sun.
As the day darkens I find two more locations among the rocky sea: a nest of Element Turtles, who's shells are an extremely strong and durable metal enhanced by a specific element, and a set of constantly moving stones among white frothing water. I've marked them Element turtle nest and churning rocks on my map, and headed further south west to stay in daylight.

Soon I come upon another maelstrom very like the Abyss, but slightly different. At the bottom of this one is a giant mouth like monster... A Charybdis. Nigh invincible, able to eat anything sent at it, and devastating to sailors. I can see why this pass is not favored, despite the lack of other monsters. And yet even so, something is challenging the beast...
Leviathan. The ruler of open seas, a massive serpent with a few fins and dread water magic fights against the titanic whirlpool like Charybdis. Unstoppable force vs immovable object... Fascinated, I watch for a while before the Leviathan gets tired and swims away. I follow it across the great Ocean into the Sea of Serpents where it reaches a gigantic underwater mountain. Curious, I follow it in.
After a massive tunnel, I reach an even larger cavern that seems to dwarf the mountain. Within are countless Leviathans like the one I followed, and one even larger. It's so huge the tunnel I took can't fit it. And it notices me.
"Why are you here, mortal?" It asks in a deep and imposing voice. Even so, I'm a bit tired and easily offended. So I decide not to take this from a mere Paragon level Beast.
My black wing expands, uncovering my scaleless and yet impenetrable body, and I summon Alatum to my hand as my Dragonfear fills the cavern. The largest one flinches slightly, as the others cower and begin to flee. And then it begins to laugh. Even I am surprised, stopping my fear and waiting for its laughter to end.
"I apologize for misjudging so severely. You are anything but mortal, aren't you child?"
I nod in response as it still shakes with laughter. That seems to amuse it further, as those around it return to gather around what I assume to be their parent. It continues soon.
"Normally, I would challenge any who enter here to prove their strength to my children or perish. But I think that unneeded and undesirable with you."
"Truth." I respond simply, before dropping Alatum to my side. I don't think it will be necessary. I could swear the Leviathan King is smiling in his own way during this conversation.
"Indeed. Well, I am glad to have met the source of the power throwing this world into chaos..."
"Before me." I interrupt. I won't let such an accusation stand unchallenged; after all I didn't cause the turmoils in this world, bringing numerous powerful beings here. I was drawn as well. Though I am certain nothing else of my level has come close- And that nothing anywhere near my level of destructive power would even consider it- I am still concerned over the source of the turmoil. And apparently so is this being.
"Is that so?... Your power hides it from my senses even now, or perhaps it was always invisible. That just means I will have to search harder. As for you... Is there anything I can help you with while you are here? You owing me a favor would be welcome."
I hesitate slightly before shaking my head, then turning my legs into a tail. The tail flashes through a few forms before resembling that of the Leviathan's very closely. It sees and widens its eyes at the similarity. Then I speak.
"Bloodkin. No need for favors." I say.
"So it would appear. Then I will welcome you any time, cousin."
Bidding our farewells, I bow to the Leviathan ruler and retrace my steps to reenter the air. I mark the location of the Leviathan's home. It seems lonely, some challengers for its trials would fix that. Though it might be a touch dangerous, that doesn't seem to stop a certain group of mortals. In fact, I'm sure they'll love it.

Flying due north from the Leviathan's lair, I come to land at a shore covered in snakes, fish, and octopi. I mark it on my map, but don't spend too much time there before continuing north. I once more fly above the rainforest vale, but this time I am much lower and have some idea what I'm looking for.
Soon I find it. Something moves in the forest, a location where the trees are irregularly stirred to action. I cut a few down for the heck of it, before finding a struggling butterfly winged humanoid. Not quite small enough for a fairy, but smaller than a normal human. Fly people, I think they're called. Peaceful for the most part.
I take the injured one back to its village. I want some information about other locations in the jungle, so I need them alive.
The village leader gives me what I want after I take his list of requests for the guild. I'm tired of being a courier. Someone is going to get hurt for this, and it's not going to be me. I don't actually care who, as long as it's not @shad12ow who enjoys it or @DCLXVI who is actually useful. Maybe that village girl @LivingCorpse.... Or one of the ones who never shows. I'll figure it out later.
Anyway, they want Treants cleared out from their village, Alraune killed, Nectar gathered from jungle flowers, flower seeds gathered from the same place, and moonlight water from the Western Forest. Nothing too troublesome. I'm just not doing any of it.

Once I get what I need I set off east to a witches coven located in a valley near the distant steppes cliffs. I find it just after it turns from twilight to true night. The witches welcome me with several spells before I persuade them that they won't work (mostly by almost falling asleep and ignoring them) which makes them give me a bed. I sleep for a while, wanting to rest after my long, long day.
I wake in darkness in the witches' coven. As I do, I hear the sounds of something approaching from the undergrowth... Chimaera. Hybrids of many kinds of beast, they are considered A rank by humans. Even these witches are not certain they want to fight them. However, they have interrupted my sleep. And I do not appreciate that in the slightest.
Alatum flashes in the moonlight. Three heads per chimaera are removed, and then the hearts are cut in half before absolute ice freezes them into statures. I do not appreciate being woken this early in the morning. I can't get back to sleep now.

That being the case, I decide to explore the world some more in the darkness of night. The witches are much more open now that I eliminated their attackers, though from the looks of things they would have been fine on their own. All around I see a number of ingredients being used in potion crafting and poison making. They also have a number of spell books and skill instruction Manuals in their library. Magical tomes that will teach the reader to use the skills inscribed, they are quite valuable to those without every talent... Namely everyone but me. I'm sure someone at the guild will be able to figure out what they want in exchange. I'm going to be dumping a lot of stuff on them aren't I?... Good. That Guildmaster deserves is.

They also tell me of two more locations, the domain of the Jungle ruler and a cliff city filled with Arachne. I decide to go check out the ruler first.

Late at night I come upon a grove of extremely massive trees surrounding a movable hill... With three pairs of gigantic legs and huge claws larger than my entire body. An Earth Elemental Titan... A Ruler of Nature and Beasts. It is as powerful and ancient as the forest itself, and will remain so until that forest has ended. I can sense it's energy linked to the surrounding forest... It cannot die so long as any tree remains in this entire rainforest forest vale, nor can it even be wounded for very long. A monster such as this... Weaker than the Leviathan King, but not by much. And this one is undoubtably hostile. The chaos in the Elven kingdom has likely disturbed it, stirring it from its ages long slumber. Perhaps two more days before it wakes... I should get back in time to warn them to flee. It can't be stopped, only slowed. Maybe, with enough effort, it could be diverted once it sets its route. But for now, all I can do is watch in awe at its monstrous power. I want to fight it. I want to stand alone against it, the terrible one winged angel of destruction against the ancient Titan ruler of the forest... I know it's name. I know it's power. And I know my own.
One day I will duel it one on one, with Alatum Unum Sephirim exerting its full power against Morian the Ruler of Summer, I promise myself as I leave, marking it and it's massive Guardian Earth Drakes on my map. The magically charged plants near it will also be useful, if they can ever be gathered. Notes completed, I fly onward with one last look back at the still sleeping Titan.

I fly north some more, and come upon a city in the cliffs. As anticipated, Archne live there. They aren't hostile, and give me a few pieces of information before I continue to fly north. I find the first location they mentioned, a sharp cliff which they called Downfall Cliff, with mist gathered at the bottom. I'm sure there is quite a graveyard at the base, but for now it is a fascinating region. I then turn east to find a mine they also mentioned.

I find it at the end of the Barrier Mountains. I land and fold my wings before walking in. The first deposits are pretty tame, colored iron and copper, with hints of tin and nickel. But deeper in, I draw a sharp breath as I find a much more valuable metal.
Red Titanium, also known as Dragon Metal to mortals. So called because it is harder than a dragon's scales and as resistant to heat as they are. And also because...

I feel myself drawn closer and closer to it. My silver wings are already caressing the deposit, as unconcealable lust burns in my body. Red Titanium acts as a powerful aphrodisiac and drug to dragons of all types. I can resist its draw, but most can't. Even I feel myself getting warmer and warmer under its influence. I want it so badly... I want to take all of it, keep this mine for myself and roll in the metal for ages... Such a lovely red armor hugging my body, red coins forming my beautiful bed, running along my bare skin with such a perfect texture...

    Stop!

I force myself away, throwing all the red metal I see into my hoard. That was dangerous, but I successfully escaped.

Or so I thought until a roar splits the air and I see something vast and red moving towards me. Claws, legs, horns, wings, and teeth... A red dragon. Great. And powerful enough to hold onto this hoard against all challengers.

It will be a shame to kill it I think as I cut its head off with Alatum. But then again, now the hoard is...

Another roar interrupts my thoughts. The body is gone. And a nearby red deposit has changed form into... The same dragon?! What the hell?! I just killed you!

I cut off its head again and watch closely. This time I see the soulbinding... Oh hell no. The bastard bound itself to all the dragon metal in the mine! It will continue to consume it to reincarnate as many times as I kill it. This clever [redacted]! I hate it so much!

After killing it three times I start to run. It doesn't stop coming after me. I am forced to flee to prevent myself killing it again and destroying more of the precious metal.

I notice two things as I flee. One, it isn't normally respawning this fast. For some reason I pissed... Oh right. We're both dragons. It won't ever let me go with any of the metal, will it? Shit.

I can't come here any more once I escape. Goddammit all to hell.

Second, it dropped about 400 gold each time it died. I grab one pile, but the other 2 are left behind. A deception, to distract from the body long enough to recover it? I guess so.

So an invincible boss that respawns once a day and protects all the metal within the mine until it's 'death'. I'm annoyed as can be. I'll force some strong mortals to get me metal. Or I won't. I don't need to get addicted or anything, so I need to stay away from this metal as much as possible.

Sometimes I hate my life, I think inside as I escape the mine at max speed and leave the dragon in the dust, still furiously searching for me. Good luck with that, stupid bastard.
As I leave the dragon behind I fly west away from the rising sun towards one of the three great peaks of the barrier range: Crooked Mountain. It's time to see what lives on these slopes.

And five minutes later I have my answer: essentially nothing. Except for the rocks themselves. Giant golems are forming and unforming around the twisted rocks, as lightning strikes from above towards the rapidly changing polarities. It's an amazing sight to see, but neither useful nor interesting. There are several plants of interest within the caves in the side of the mountain, but getting to them between the fighting golems will be tricky at best, impossible at worst. Perhaps a small group on the ground could do it, but unless i feel like working much harder than I do I can't.

So I sweep south towards the castle which perches on a nearby peak and overlooks this mountain and its rocky guardians. It's mostly ruined now, but I can tell when it once majestically stood and overlooked the twisted forest. I'm probably finished with that forest anyway... Shadow mountain is far too deep and too dark for even my senses to map it completely yet. I'll spend a while there. On the other hand, this castle is already something I can see through to its deepest depths. Another elemental lair, though this one seems much more inclined to lightning than any other element. Storm elementals and lightning wisps dance through the halls. Metal is ill advised in exploring it, unless the lightning resistance can more than cancel out the vulnerability of easily induced charges.

Then again, the constant metallic network overlaying the castle gives them a massive homefield advantage. Even without metal, they will have access to enough that it won't matter too much. As annoying as it is, I just decide to leave the castle alone for now. I haven't been killing much anything recently... That's too bad.

I get a strange feeling that's about to change, though, as I turn south and head for the largest peak of the Barrier mountains: Shadow Mountain.
The labyrinthian tunnels that weave through the mountain itself are nothing to me, though I have strong doubts that most could pierce the feral vampires and demons that roam them. A ranks wander as fodder, while S ranks are in every group... Even a few SS ranks above that, too dangerous for humans to even consider fighting. Not that any of them pose any hinderance to Alatum.

I slice a vampire in half and Pierce its heart, burning it to ash to kill it. A twisted demon tries to grab me and is raining from the sky in cubes. An elemental of darkness hunts for shadows and ghosts... Any grabbed by its fangs will never escape. I am not so ethereal. It feels the harshness of my steel before long.
Deeper and deeper I dive, into the mountain of darkness, avoiding the dead ends and twisting passages that lead where I do not wish to go. Though to be honest, even I am uncertain if where I am heading now is a place I want to be...

Yet in the end I reach it. The underworld... Hell itself. The domain of everything that hates or fears the light, the living... Everything that feeds on darkness and death and despair. This is the realm of evil, the domain of the unholy. It feels like... Home.

Not one of the adventurers could survive a minute in this place. Not even the Guildmaster can tolerate such temperatures, such suffocating pressure, and such lightless darkness. Though my sonar allows me to see clearly even in this pitch black world, even my eyes cannot pick up enough light to distinguish shapes and colors. But it doesn't matter.

I begin forming a map of the underworld as I move north from my starting position. The first thing I realize is that it is massive. I would say half the central continent, if not more, rests above some portion of the underworld I am now exploring.

Tunnels crisis cross every which way, but I can only map the major ones in my notes. Smaller ones, some crawl spaces, some large enough to walk single file, are everywhere. There are no two cavern in this place which aren't linked in some way by those who know them well. And even with my abilities, I cannot say I do. Not yet.

I reach the first cavern I noticed when I was scanning with Sonar. It wasn't that far away, and even without flying I can still move exceptionally fast when I want to. Especially in circumstances such as these, where speed enhances my sense's perception.

Unfortunately for me, it didn't work quite well enough. As soon as I enter the cavern I am assaulted by numerous appendages which resemble the tentacles I gave to a demon Orc some time back. Extending my claws I manage to cut through them... Only, they immediately reform and try to grab me again. I change Alatum with power and use it to cut them all down.

In the produced light I see what I am dealing with. Tendrils extend from cracks in the floor and walls as far as I can see, innumerable and incessant. Figures are already caught and bound by the tendrils, whose ravenous hunger doesn't seem to be decreasing as they reach for me. It's not happening.

Or it wouldn't be if Alatum would work. Perfect immunity to physical and magical attacks... It's been so long since I encountered such a thing that I'm almost pleased. If not furious out of my mind at how they keep touching me while I'm dodging. Slippery and slimy tentacles across my skin... A most unpleasant experience. So I let my black wing ignite with fire. A dark glow reveals the countless waving tentacles before I am grabbed again by a pair of red tentacles, who seem to want to eat the fire.

That's impossible! I think to myself as I am pulled backwards for a while before I manage to break out again. To eat these flames you would have to not only be immune, but also absorb fire and darkness perfectly. And that can't be done by anything anywhere near this world.
And then I realize they didn't. The tendrils which attacked me have become blackened and corrupted, falling apart from within. So my fire works... Just slowly.
I don't want to be held by these things any longer than necessary. If I'm constantly being pulled around it will take hours to escape this cave. Therefore, I need to go on the offensive to teach them the error of fighting me.

My rampage begins with absolute cold. Ice freezes even the burning heat if the cavern, solidifying the most fluid parts of the cavern. But it quickly melts... This region's magic is too dense, too concentrated for such a minor strike to change its terrain. Further, several tentacles aren't affected by the cold at all...
I grown suspicious from that. I begin using the elemental abilities freely... Inferno, Tsunami, Earth Breaker, Absolute Zero, Electric Nova, Solar Flare, Windcutter, Spatial Tear, Miasma, Shadow Flare... Fire, Water, Earth, Ice, Lightning, Light, Air, Space, Death, and Darkness... Each affects most, but only a few stay down with each. The rest recover. And for each, there are some that are immune and others that grow even stronger. Element eating demons... Alone, it's simply a matter of finding the right element to destroy one but in a mass like this they're almost invincible. Only my speed has allowed me to kill any of them, as they are constantly moving to intercept the elements they consume and dodge those they are weak to. The pure instinct of mindless beings is frightening at times like this. I don't doubt that I could exterminate all of them, but even so there are likely enough seeds and hidden passages that I can't be sure of getting all of them. It would be pointless to try.

So I stop slaughtering and let Alatum rest. When I do, I am addressed from behind by a beautiful, alluring voice as a hand rests on my shoulder and another circles around my body.
"Why don't you just enjoy yourself, beautiful?" It asks, filled with feminine charm enough to stir even a long dead corpse. I twist my head up and back to look at what is behind me.

A woman as nude as I am greets my sight in the pale light of the cavern. But unlike me, she is mature and extremely sexual, with excessive curves forming an hourglass figure and massive breasts she has decided to rest atop my head. So of course I ignore them. I don't like that feeling of inferiority one little bit, even if I know that bigger isn't better.

She laughs in response, and pulls one of the tentacles in closer. I flinch as she runs it across my arm before letting it curl around her body. While she is correct that continuing to fight would be pointless, I still don't want them touching me. She giggles and uses her hands to touch me instead.
A massage would be the best description of what she's doing, but it's a bit too sexual to be considered a true one. She focuses on my exposed breasts and thighs, which while it doesn't hurt makes me rather uncomfortable. So I tear myself away after she gets a bit too close to somewhere I don't want touched while covering myself with scales. Yet still, I don't attack.

After all, she is a Succubus. A powerful one too, from the way she's enjoying those tentacles and draining their life energy simply by touching them, faster than they can drain her mana. They wither and die as she enjoys herself under their care, making me turn quite red and turn away, wishing I could block my ears as well. Fortunately for my peace of mind she finishes quickly.

Once done she again wraps her arm around me and pulls me close to her, trying to caress the most sensitive regions of my body. As she finds scales instead of flesh, she flinches slightly before picking me up to examine. Damn... I forgot how strong Succubi are. I struggle a bit, but again not too hard. If I give her any incentive to rape me, I'm not entirely sure I can resist it. Succubi have poisons and pheromones that are almost perfect trump cards against humanoid species. Her poisons won't kill me, sure. But nonlethal poisons and supposedly benevolent chemicals like numbing agents and her aphrodisiac perfume are things I have much less resistance to. If she stops emitting the male luring perfume and switches to a female luring one, I'm pretty sure I'm in trouble. Therefore, it would be better to give a little ground here than a lot of ground later.

Thus the hands which are invading my privacy are ignored. She seems to be able to tell what I'm thinking, and pulls me in close for a light kiss on the cheek while stroking my back and wings. I turn my head away as it grows quite red again. She is even more amused by that.

"A virgin little girl gets caught in the tentacle lair... Oh if only you were slightly less stubborn it would have been the perfect little show. But I guess I'll save you now. You're just too cute to let the ugly tentacles have you yet." She says while whispering in my ear. Then she runs her hand along my breasts again and smiles cruelly.

"Of course, that's on the condition you retract those scales again. They're so hard they'll mar my delicate skin, and what woman can allow that?" She grins as she says it. I glare back, furious in the knowledge that her skin is probably almost as tough as mine and surely unmark-able even to most metals. But she also knows this area, and I do not. Sighing, I retract them and expose my tiny breasts and waist to the underworld air again. She flips me into a princess carry once I do, with one hand rubbing my hips while the other plays with my breasts. But as soon as I struggle slightly, I sense a change in her scent and freeze, not breathing. Her grin seems dangerous right now.

"Oh? You can tell, can't you my cute little pet? Then we'll play a little game. You can keep your precious virginity as long as you let me play however I want, agreed?"

I don't want to respond in any way, but the pheromones keep changing and not breathing is only a delaying tactic. They'll still permeate the air into my body even if I don't ever breathe in again. This is why Succubi are such terrible foes... So I nod in agreement to her offer. She smiles radiantly, and to my shock moves her hands away from my privates and holds me by my knees and neck.

At my reaction, she smiles downward tenderly.
"Oh, teasing you is fun and all but it's not cute when you're so obviously terrified. You're too beautiful to ruin like that. Smile, and be happy. I'll take you away from here, don't you worry."

She explains. I am stunned by her position, yet it isn't bad for me so I shrug and settle into her arms. If she wants to mother me like a child, it is much preferable to being raped while drugged. She seems even happier at that, and heads north through the writhing tentacles towards another entrance. A different set of pheromones is exuded, one that keeps them at bay... The same ones they themselves are excreting. As we walk I see several other Succubi, some engaged in acts of pure hedonism with the tentacles, others harvesting fluids from around them. Apparently, there are a number of the most deadly demonkind to me right now in this underworld.

And I'm probably heading right to their city.

    -timeskip-
My Succubi protector, named Illustia Aphrodite, carries me into a large cavern filled with buildings and numerous kinds of lust demons after about an hours walk through the tunnels. She is much, much faster than I anticipated, running at tops speeds through most of the caverns while still talking to me about herself and the underworld. This is apparently called the Succubi Queendom, for the Succubi queen who rules it. And she is apparently the princess of said Queendom, which is why she got to take me as her pet rather than anyone else doing so. It seems they had been watching me for a while. I'm furious they didn't help, yet glad this one picked me up. Five have already emitted female aphrodisiacs while we traveled here, throwing my body into turmoil which Illustia calmed down with a massage. Nonsexual, thank goodness, but I'm not sure how much I could have resisted if she wasn't here. According to my biology, aphrodisiacs aren't dangerous and sex is to be welcomed, not feared. Thus they are far more effective on me than any other poison, only slightly less that they are on most humanoids. Even if my body isn't sexually mature yet, I'm slowly losing my self control under the influence of so many drugs meant not to harm, but to help. Essentially, I'm drunk.

And the capital doesn't help one bit. Iccubi, winged temptresses, sirens, lamia, and other luxuria demons join Succubi in this city. I also see several humanoids being kept as food or pets, often in the process of having sex as the scent of lust fills the air. I try blocking my nose, but Illustia doesn't let me. However, she does see my distress and takes me into a nearby building with several glowing plants around it.
"Welcome, how may I help you... Princess? And you've finally got yourself a pet... Your mother will be so proud. Female for a first choice, not bad at all..." The shopkeeper says, a Succubus of advanced age with even larger assets than Illustia. I hate this city already.

"Please granny, leave the lecture for later. Can I have a resistance drug?" Illustia cuts the granny Succubus off and ask points to a nearby grayish potion. The granny looks from it to me, bright red and breathing heavily, then glares at the princess.

"She's on the verge and you want to cut her off? How cruel is that! I have a back room if you want privacy, but just deflowering yourself on the street and making a spectacle will get your mother off your back even more..." The granny continues in a dangerous direction while emitting pheromones which are pushing me even more off balance. I try to remove the drug from my system manually but the required self control isn't there. So I simply extend a claw and drive it into my waist.

They look at me shocked as I shakily stand and keep my claw in my body, heading for the indicated drug. I drop a few crystals on the counter before drinking it down, an absolutely bitter taste which rapidly cools my excited body. Thank goodness something like this exists.

"... Any more?" I ask once I'm back in control, though I do let Illustia race over to examine my waist from top to bottom as my wound heals completely. The shopkeeper seems stunned for a bit, then nods and hands over five more. I gratefully accept, returning a few gems and crystals from my hoard in exchange.
But as I turn around I am slapped furiously by Illustia, who seems to be crying slightly.

"Don't do that again!" She cries as I twist around and fall to the ground, trying to counterbalance the force of the slap with a spin. How strong is she? I think as I land and then start to rise into a massive hug which suffocates me. She seems... Worried? How the hell is a Succubus getting emotionally attached to what should be her victim?

"Why?" I ask, trying to compress everything I'm wondering into that single word. She doesn't respond, and simply keeps crying. So I continue to speak, "I'll leave. Soon." In other words, don't get emotionally attached or think I care about you in any way. But I don't think she got that message.

She nods, then finally wipes her tears and responds, "I know. I don't like it but I know you have to go. I'll take you with me to the Underworld Conference, where you can meet one of your own kind who will take you deeper into the underworld. Then I'll say goodbye."

She smiles and puts her hand on my head. I nod in acceptance, wondering what she means by my own kind, and she guide me out of the shop. Seems I now have a destination in mind for the underworld exploration. And a friendly princess I have to worry about. And all this from a few stupid tentacles...
In the eternally dark underworld time has no meaning. Day and night are constructs of the surface world and its sun which do not apply here. Everyone sleeps when they want, as long as they want, however they want to. It is freedom from the Suns tyranny. The only cost is a near absolute darkness broken only by the red light of lava flows and the pale glow of underworld flora.

I spent some time in the Succubi capital with Illustia. Perhaps it was a day, perhaps less. They are far more advanced than the rest of the world down here. An amusement park took up several hours of our time, a cinema a bit longer before I rushed out in the middle (Illustia was not surprised. How was I supposed to know the title "the Best of Times, the Worst of Times" referred to an adult film?), the mall got me several new accessories and jewels I am now wearing (for some reason the Succubi don't sell clothes... Curious) and I also toured the city and met with several of the Succubi. While I doubt this place is safe for anyone, those with sufficient power may be able to talk to them as potential allies. Those too weak will be made into toys.

Once we finished there we traveled through a number of beautiful caverns and underground sceneries to a vast city to the west: Underground Conference. There, the Succubi were mostly replaced by numerous other races: the intelligent factions of the underworld. This was one of a few sites in this dark realm where all the races agreed on peace: the Succubi of the east, the elementals of the south, the dragons of the southwest, and the four great kingdoms who are perpetually at war. All four kingdoms are in the west, beneath the Great Plains and verdant forest, and they form four corners of a sort of square.
The nearest to us are the southeastern most of the four, the Vampire Matriarchy ruled by the Carmella family. Countless tribes are untied under the matriarchal ruling family, who are a breed of vampire lords with black wings and near infinite regeneration, plus silvered hair and red eyes like mine are now. Pureblood vampires... Haughty and proud.
Second closest is the Undead Lichdom of the northeast, a domicile of undead most terrible. Ruled by ancient and powerful liches who have become essentially gods of death, their forces include death Knights, resurrected corpses, amalgamations of many bodies called Death Titans, and most terrible of all Grim Reapers who can harvest the souls of any living being without effort.
Third is the Devil Realm, who furiously deny any connection to the weak surface demons. Not surprising, since many of the Demon lords of the far west have been distant descendants of their weaker nobles. They are ruled by a council of six true evils, under one absolute ruler called "The Devil." That is the most hostile of the four kingdoms towards the surface, though not by much.
The final kingdom is the most distant, the southwestern Fallen Dominion lead by the fallen Angel Lucifer, the Morning Star. It is the one Illustia wants me to visit, believing that I am some sort of hybrid of dragon and fallen angel (not entirely inaccurate) and the fact that the Fallen Dominion also includes the lair of the black dragon king simple strengthens her conviction. She has already found me a guide, a sort of Romeo and Juliet couple of vampire and fallen angel who think that my existence justifies their love. Unfortunately for them, I doubt the four kingdoms can ever reconcile. The hate is too strong, the blood spilled too great, and the history of violence too long, for anything but perpetual war to happen.

I'm not so much a fool as to tell them that, though.

Illustia cried as we separated and made me promise to come back to her someday. I agreed, though a touch reluctant as she got too close and personal and whispered some very disturbing things about me becoming an adult. I waved goodbye as she returned to the Succubi realm before setting off with Romeo and Juliet (not actual names) and worrying about my future.

As we travel they tell me about their adventures in the underworld, including a visit to the palace of eternal ice Niflheim to the north and the magma elemental hive to the south. I mark all of them on my map, creating an image of the underworld for sale if I ever decide to do so. I rather doubt it will happen for a while, though.

After about half a day we come to the Vampire capital, Castle Dracula. A massive black stone fortress rises from the floor to the ceiling, forged based on a stalactite that had reached the ground and enhanced ever since. It is almost a kilometer high, far larger than any structure I have seen in this world, or its others. Only the worlds at the peak of technology had ever created something like this in my memory. It is wonderful, and terrible, in its glory.
The vampires range from low ranking night crawlers barely as strong as wyverns to ancient lords who could duel dragons with one finger. Every once in a while during our tour of the city I get a glimpse of a Pureblood, surrounded by guardians and admirers. SSS rank would not suffice to describe them. They are essentially invincible beings, and I would guess that every one of the four kingdoms has being some of similar level. Though the Succubi didn't, their special ability is more than sufficient to make up for such lower power and allow them to survive; nothing else could in this apocalyptic realm.

I check the vampire wares and note dark weapons and armor of pretty decent quality, inferior to Alatum but far superior to the simple mask I had made a while back. Especially in their natural environment, this dark and lightless realm. I purchase a throwing knife with the money I took from the Red Dragon a while back.

We take a boat across the magma sea and down the river to reach the Black Dragon lair. They are intelligent and capable despite their massive size and terrible nature, and despite their pride know enough to understand that even their strongest can't protect them from the four kingdoms' legions of demigods. While I can sense that the king is a paragon on par with Leviathan, I'm sure that the rulers of the four kingdoms are likewise, and probably not alone. I grab a few scales and chipped claws from the ground to study further.

Our journey ends in the Capital of the Fallen Angels, Lucifer's Landing. It is cold and dark, lacking the lake of fire that made the vampire realm glow red and hot. Cocytus lies beyond this, a region of absolute cold and darkness which even demons and undead fear to invade. That is why this place stands on par with the other three kingdoms, despite its inferiority numerically and strengthwise. That, and the ruler who I am now meeting.
Six pairs of wings, pitch black and mottled, spread from the back of the imposing man who sits on the chair opposite me. A corrupted halo glows in dark flickering light over his black hair, and his suit is designed to enhance the feeling of darkness. I feel somewhat impressed by his power. The Leviathan King is much less dangerous than this man in front of me, and significantly weaker. Luckily, I am much more adapted to darkness than he who was born in light is. I have never known anything else, unlike this once highest of the Archangels in the heaven around this world.

"You are not born of my kingdom." He makes a statement. I am aware he knows, but his bluntness is unexpected. Fallen are usually more circumspect. But I have no reason to lie, so I simply shake my head.
He nods in understanding. "I feel your blood. It isn't born of Heaven... Not on this world. Nor on any other if I am right. Which leads me to question... Why are you here?"
I do not answer for a while, and he does not push. Finally I decide to tell him the same thing I told Leviathan.
    "The turmoil preceded me."
"I see. Then it drew something far more dangerous than that foolish God could have ever anticipated." He says calmly while seemingly lost in thought. A foolish God... Intriguing. But I have no intention of asking about it.
He continues shortly, "We in the darkness have long sensed those approaching the world of light. Some are formidable, others much less so. Yet only one of them poses a threat to us... An existence born not of the beginning, but the end. And that one has come before us now, which is curious indeed. That wing of yours... It was not an angel that sired your ancestors. The feathers are of two basic types: the Simurgh, a bird of all knowledge and wisdom, and the Phoenix, the Emperor of flame and rebirth. That much I can tell."
Now I am surprised. To realize which primordial birds were my ancestors is most impressive. But then he goes even further.
"But those were holy birds, and each's children were holy birds. The Spirit bird Vermillion was the only child of the two of them combined, and you are not such a holy being. Further, that bird only mated with its own kin and elementals of light... Or gods."
He trails off, looking at me curiously. I realize we won't get anywhere else until he understands what made me, so I give him the next step. Just one word though,
    "Hraesvelgr."
He draws a sharp breath in, stunned. I know he understands from that and that alone.
"The child of the first God of light and the spirit bird of fire, the devourer of souls and the reigning king of wind and fire.... A most illustrious bird indeed.
And that is the missing piece. Only one race of humanoids ever created a child with Hraesvelgr, a Elven race who were as pure as their Progenitor was millennia before. Sephirot... The Elves of the Tree of Life. Immortal, unkillable, and infinitely beautiful. They were the Crown Jewels of the highest planes of all existence... At least until their prince betrayed all of them and took several with him. The rumored Dark Sephirot Elven Prince... He is your father, no?"
I nod in answer. A dark Elven angel of the highest caliber, superior to almost everything else in existence... Prince of the Sephirot Elves, and one of the rulers of heaven. My father, the greatest stain on the reputation of the light for a billion years.
Lucifer understands all of this, from the pity in his eyes. He reaches out and touches my dragon wings, then pulls his hand back.
"Then I understand why you travel the lower worlds. You were not defeated like me, but fled in terror from a being of madness and chaos..."
"Leave Mother Alone!" I shout suddenly as he talks. Lucifer stops suddenly and looks at me again. Then he slowly bows his head.
"My apologies. I did not mean to offend. I will let the other rulers know of your plight. We offer hospitality down here, and respite from the chaos that will erupt on the surface. There is no need for you to interfere." He offers graciously. But I get another feeling... He does not want me to go back. The four rulers are absolute in this realm, but they cannot interfere in the surface world for some reason.
Fallen from the highest of heights, now taking refuge and strengthening their forces in darkness... Perhaps it is not so complicated after all. My very presence, and what I will draw if I am in the open, is a threat to that plan. That was not an invitation. It was a command.

I am not confident I can defeat Lucifer with ease, not without making him unleash far more devastating power that will tear the surface apart. He is truly strong, likely only slightly short of the God who rules in the highest heavenly plane. It is not unusual for beings of this strength to hide within minor worlds, but the turmoil that is currently being instigated makes me far more suspicious than that would imply. I do not think they caused it. But it is unlikely... Nay impossible, that they do not know what did.

That being the case, I intend to stay the night before setting off in the morning. A good nights sleep and separation from Lucifer will do me some good.
After I sleep for a few hours I start preparing to flee the underworld. Lucifer has probably already informed the other three rulers about me, so I need to evade all four forces during my flight. Therefore, I decide it's time to fight my way out. I will avoid the SS and SSS ranked champions of each kingdom, as I doubt I can finish them fast enough to avoid one of the Rulers arriving. I fold my silver wings around myself into armor. The scales harden and the skin of my wings becomes a pure Crystal scale mail that shapes around my torso, thighs, and shoulders. Heavy Armor, but it doesn't hinder my movement in the slightest. In my hand I lift Alatum Unum Sephirim. It will finally drink deeply tonight. I seal its soul killing functions, however. I don't want to set all four against me and me alone. I doubt any will die from its normal abilities.

A single black wing pulses the air as I finish my ensemble with a coat of pure darkness I got from the Castle laundry. It hangs around me feet and my wrists, and flaps behind me as a sort of cloak. Now we are ready. Now it shall begin.

I tear open the castle wall and leap into the dark air of the cavern. I take a second to get my bearings before heading due north. They will anticipate me returning the way I came. So I will surprise them, by going a different direction. Alarms begin to ring as I shoot through the cavern sky and dodge the hanging stalactites on my way out.

But I am not unhindered. Two fallen Seraphim catch up to me quickly, two wings from each throwing bladed feathers after me as I twist through the ceiling maze. I dive downwards as they pincer me, causing them to collide before they reorient to resume pursuit.
Now everything begins. Another fallen seraphim stands in my way, two dark swords in its hands. I dive straight towards it, using Alatum to block one its strikes and rotating around its body to avoid the other. But it's wings attack me once I'm there, forcing me to rise rapidly again to start my race through the stalactites.
I dodge right around a massive stalactite which the three seraphs split around, one following me while he other two to other directions. I dive below a short one and race through a hole in the ceiling to follow a twisting tight tunnel, barely large enough for me to fit. The Seraphim pursues, wasting earth magic to widen the tunnel and catch up behind me. When we come to an opening it reaches me and swings for my back, forcing me to spin around and duel while still fleeing as fast as I can. Blade clashes with blade, throwing off sparks and raining sounds as both are equal to each other. It's twin blades move slower than my one, allowing my defense to hold even if I can't retaliate.
We stop as we reach another tight tunnel, resuming our duel of magic and speed. Fire and light pursue me, but mostly collide with the walls. I turn down a sharp side tunnel and fall through a hole in the floor to get back into the main cavern right above the north going tunnel. The seraph stops pursuing as the other two move to block my way, but I accelerate as fast as I can to evade them. Unfortunately this slams me into the floor and craters the cavern, though I manage to bounce enough to keep my momentum going. Two pursue while the other heads back to report.

The north tunnel is a twisting mass of teeth like stalactites and stalagmites. Up and down and in every direction, I fly while being pursued, sending lightning bolts back towards my pursuers and detonating electric novas from Alatum, trying to gain a few meters on my closing pursuers. Our speed is about equal, but they are blocking rather than dodging. They're trying to waste my strength, not finish me. They don't need to conserve for much longer, and so can go all out already while I have to hold enough back to make it through three more kingdoms and the rest of the underworld. And all those excuses do nothing to the fact that I am tired and confused in this labyrinth, and frantically flying based on sonar which barely reports back before I run into more obstacles. I've exceeded the speed of sound. Yet they are still right in my tail.

I find a northward heading river of lava. My fire resistance should exceed theirs by a lot, so I dive in and swim upstream as fast as I can. Light and dark energy split the magma, but they don't follow me. Within minutes, I reach a lake of lava which I spring out of and take a deep breath.
I am met with more fire, and curses of evil. To the north I see the demon capital of Pandemonium, a massive and chaotic fortress of fire and black stone. Crap. Arch Devils are already massing to attack... No wonder the Seraphs didn't pursue. I'm in a bit of trouble, aren't I?
I use my wing to shield myself from the assault, but I lose most of my speed as I fall back towards the magma. I level off right above it and take off, dodging the lava serpents which spring up to snatch at the perceived prey. I cut through one, but the rest don't get the message and that delay lets the Devils catch up.
Chaotic energy falls from above around me, forcing me to take an erratic path to avoid. Flipping over to fly upside down I swing Alatum to send out bursts of holy and ice magic back. One falls, but the rest evade as I cut away from the lava and directly towards one of the cavern walls.

Once again I bounce off the cavern, this time without cratering it. My sudden change of direction gains me a couple of seconds before several demons copy my maneuver and fly after me. Land bound demons also wait near the ground, catching me between the ones above and below. So I choose one to attack.

I dive towards the larger force in order to defy expectations. I land in and instant and use a hells gate to scatter those around me impact site, throwing up a smokescreen of dust. Then I dive due south towards the nearest exit. The one I wanted to take is overrun in the distance from the red glow I can see, so I need to go south instead. This is going to be tricky.

The southern Demon settlement, Burning City, a fortress armed with massive weapons and firepower, attacks me as I approach. Fire fills the sky and turns the ground into lava, which I barely keep ahead of as I dash for the tunnel. Cannon fire starts an avalanche which I cut my way through, taking only a few hits from the stones before I make it into the dark and empty tunnel.

South, then east, then south again along a lava river before I reach a junction I passed on my way to the Fallen Angel territory. I use that tunnel to head back towards the Vampire lands.
But when I come to another junction, I go north instead of south. The tunnel is still empty, allowing me to go faster and faster along it without obstruction. Hopefully I can catch the vampires unaware and get past them easily.

Then I slam headfirst into an invisible net. Below, I feel movement from something without life... Liches. Well hell. I start spinning after igniting my body, ripping free of the magical net before lighting the sky on fire to burn any others. But that is long enough for me to be confronted by a grim reaper.
Scythe meets sword in aerial combat as we both dodge the spells from below. It cuts from above, it's black robes body swaying in the air as I drop below to drop a fireball towards the Lich army. I turn and block with Alatum, barely holding off the scythe aiming for my life, and then twist around to kick it in the head. It evades, spinning its scythe and knocking my foot away as we both fall through the sky in every direction. A stalactite from the ceiling splits us for a second, but it is still in the way of my escape. So I rush back towards it to try and gain a swift victory.
My blade flashes faster and faster, accelerated by Hastelloy until it can't be followed by mortal eyes. But the reaper keeps up, deflecting with its scythe and counter attacking enough that I can't just rampage in the attack until it falls. Magic from below keeps interfering, fire and lightning and ice rising to explode in our midst and cause the air to shake. Our battle takes us to the vampire cavern, north of Castle Dracula where I see several vampires moving in. Great.

The liches retreat though as the vampires close in, leaving only the reaper to duel me. It falls back out of the vampire cave, letting me get a bit closer to my goal in order to keep engaging me. A spinning scythe and a flashing katana create sparks as they clash, the ruler of death against my dark winged form. Our auras clash incessantly in a dark light show, black lightning surging around us. And then finally, one of us slips.
It overcompensates to one of my feints, leaving a single fatal opening. I swing Alatum to shear its scythe in half, dropping the blade to the bottom of the cavern far below. As it tries to attack with the staff I block with my arm and knock its chest in with the back of the blade, sending it falling through the sky. I don't celebrate my victory, preferring instead to shoot north and escape the approaching vampire army.

I swing over a lake of fire before looking to return through underworld central to the shadow mountain entrance. Yet in my way, I see a Pureblood vampire leading its forces there before me. After wasting so much time against a Reaper, I have no desire to fight such a being. I turn due north at the lake and aim for the dark elemental Residence in the north.

They don't try and stop me, miraculously. Shooting past the still waiting dark elementals, I go south and aim to pass the Succubi capital secretly en route to the Shadow Mountain entrance again. But I am once again shocked.

The Succubi have mobilized. Their army is in between me and my goal, and I cannot even afford to get close to them. I turn to a side tunnel and head up a lava river to a small cavern. Yet once I am there, I am stuck. There is no other entrance. I can't believe it, and spend too long searching for a alternate exit. There isn't one...

And the army is approaching down the tunnel. I'm trapped.
I wake up in a room with stone walls and a few tapestries around my well made bed. Stretching my arms above my head, I look out the window and see the first light of the sun rising in the distant east. It is a wonderful thing to see a star's light again.

I rise and don my black robe once again, letting my single wing curl around me to complete the outfit while my silver pair extend from my back and then fold up again to make me appear human. I brush my silver hair out with the bone handled hairbrush on the nightstand while I look into a mirror again. The well furnished room has a washbasin, a nightstand, a vanity, and a wardrobe with things I have been told I can use. So I pretty myself up a bit before walking out into the hallway.
There I am met by a young humanoid who straightens to attention and salutes before leading me outside. I follow to a walkway atop massive stone walls that surround the keep I was sleeping in. And as I watch, we move towards the rising sun.

    Yes, we move. Not it.

The fortress I am staying at is currently surfing one of the moving mountains of the Unknown lands. Behind us the ground moves in a sort of accelerated plate tectonics as the mountains crawl across the terrain at about a kilometer per hour. A moving forest accompanies them and stops when they stop, composed of being similar but a bit different from Treants. This Traveling Fortress exists to observe the moving mountains and figure out the cause. The inhabitants are humans from the Eastern lands, and they have to be perpetually on guard in case the mountain decides to take a stroll into a nest of monsters. Below, I see swordsman and spear men practicing on the shaking ground. This place trains balance, at least.

I start to reminisce about last night. I was trapped by the Succubus army, unable to find a way to evade them, when I decided to hide in the lava. The Succubi set up camp in the cavern of the lake, and I saw that Illustia was leading them. By chance I overheard a conversation she had with the commander. The commander was displeased that they were defying the four kingdoms by trying to protect me, but she insisted it was the better course of action. So when she was alone, I came out and talked to her. Apparently they wanted to escort me to another entrance to the underworld at the Succubi capital, but her mother had insisted the army set out to 'capture' me and thereby have me 'accidentally' use that entrance instead of openly defying the four kingdoms.
I of course accepted, and I fled the 'pursuing' army to reach the capital, where I was 'trapped' in the palace before 'escaping' through the dungeon of Lust in Orc lands. From there I went east, where I saw this fortress moving and decided to investigate. The commander caught me, and told me to conceal my wings and stay the night. So I, exhausted and tired from a really long day, accepted. It was the best nights sleep I've had in a while.
There was one other thing I thought about as I slept. I met with the Succubi Queen before I escaped, and she told me something very interesting. Unlike the four kingdoms, their kind are interested in moving to the surface and establishing a domicile of some sort in the sun. Further, they want humans to willingly come to them and exchange certain favors for certain other favors (she was explicit... I'm still blushing to my ears from hearing it) in a strange form of economy. I'm not entirely unwilling though, even if the pheromones from Illustia have worn off. They're not addictive, but even so...
I try not to think about what I want from them too much. My body is still a child's, and it will remain a child's for a several centuries. That is the end of the story.

And that brings us to now, where the soldier is saluting me again as I leap from the fortress and race off through the undergrowth before taking flight and heading even further east. I was requested to communicate with a knight in the Treacherous Port (ominous name) at the mouth of the unknowable river. So I was heading towards said port in order to add it to my map (sort of) and deliver the communique.

It was dawn when I arrived at the port, well named by the legions of bandits and pirates who inhabited it. I had to turn down at least three dozen prospective suiters (and a couple likely rapists or slave traders) before I reached the city, and it only got worse from there. Even extending my black wing and lighting myself on fire only halved the interested parties, and attracted more with less savory pastimes. I honestly wanted to burn that port to the ground.

But it had things I needed. You can buy literally anything in the Treacherous Port if the price is right, and I certainly had that. I traded several crystals and a feather for a map of the East and information about its inhabitants, as well as a bit of candy and weapons to take back as souvenirs. I also bought a slave... And then lost a slave when an arrogant idiot decided my slave looked like a fighting slave (he wasn't) and loosed their pet Chimaera on him. My slave died. So did the Chimaera, the arrogant idiot, and the pirates who wanted to take advantage of the situation to kidnap/molest/rape/kill me.

Fortunately the Knights headquarters was holding out in a slightly orderly part of town. I say slightly because while pickpockets and burglaries were happening everywhere, murder and kidnap were not on the menu. Unlike the outer areas.
The Knights were surprised I made it through such areas unscathed, until I handed over around forty bodies for them to hang up as a demonstration. They seem to be looking for recruits to reorder the town... Yeah, good luck with that. Maybe some of the adventurer's back in the central city will do it... If they can ever reach this place.

    I rather doubt it.

I left the Treacherous port and headed due east to visit the Far East Islands just before noon, and took an hour to make the round trip. Suffice to say the Far East was uneventful. Humans do live there, but I didn't look around for very long before making a rapid return journey. It's time to explore more westerly locations.
I first headed westwards to find a place at the border of the Orc lands and the Unknown Lands, a Lamia hive that would be a good landmark for the rest of my journey. I located it around midday, marking it on my map as I saw serpent women and lamia being led by a gorgon to hunt. All three are quite dangerous, especially the petrifying Gorgon. No threat to me, but I have no desire to fight them either.

Once I found that I turned directly north and flew for about an hour, looking for the landmark I had been told to find. I found it eventually, a river which seemed far too white for its width. At a sharp right angle bend in its path, I turned east again and flew in the direction of treacherous port. About a third of the way to the coast, I found my target.
It was a town of humans, but they were not normal humans by any means. Those at the gate turned into massive tigers and wolves as I approached, growling warnings that I ignored. One remained human to warn me away with language.
"Halt, trespasser! None but the were may enter here." To which I extended my birds wing, silencing him. It counts.
"My apologies. We have been attacked several times by the suspicious people of the East and the arrogant fools in the west, so we're a touch cautious of those not proven to be our own kind."
He said in remorse, to which I nodded acceptance. Then he led me in to the town, where I met with a giant of a man who seemed to be the chief. He transformed into a bear. Unsurprising.

"Child of the outlands, do you wish to learn your place here?" He roared in his bear form. So he can talk in that form... Interesting. But my answer will be the same.
    "No."
"Very well then, I shall... Wait what? You want to go back to the outlands?" He seems a touch surprised... I wonder what I said? Even so, I nod in response.
"Well... You seem adept at concealing yourself among them, so be safe on your travels child. And if you find any who would like to learn their place among nature, direct them to us. We will accept them gratefully." He said, seemingly his way of saying goodbye and safe travels. I do check the method of becoming a werebeast while in town... Getting bitten and not healing it seems to be good, while there are also potions and curses that can do the same. Well, it's not my problem anyhow.

I use Alatum's Waking Dream to show them an image of me turning into a bird and flying north. Once out of sight, I turn northeast towards the last location in the unknown lands I purchased in the treacherous port, Dead Man's Rest.

A massive graveyard crawling with undead greets my sight. Several need to be purified or they'll keep coming back, while a few tombs seem to be constantly spawning more. I circle a few times and mark it on my map, just east of the river, before continuing on my flight by following the river northwards.

I head for the pole, traveling along the river before turning due north and reaching the vast snowy tundra in the distant reaches of the world. Unlike the unknown lands, this region's terrain isn't changing. It is always frozen, always white. It doesn't even have seasons.

North of the border by about half an hours flight I find a massive city of pure white and crystalline ice. The final location, or final rumor I bought in the port seems to be true: the Pale Lady's City exists.
As the fourth evening of my journey begins, I reach the crystalline city of the Pale Queen of the North, a form of Ice elemental that is intelligent and capable of speech. Several of her handmaidens greet me, and I enter the city filled with beautiful pale girls and handsome sparkling men. They are absolutely stunning both male and female, though they are probably too cold internally and externally to ever be interested in the same sorts of activities as the Succubi were. From my conversation with them, they are interested dealing with humanity as equals if at all possible. Their realm is as uninhabitable to mankind as mankind's is to theirs, so I don't see why there would be a problem. The eternal ice mines in their domain needing mining and the frost spirits wandering the north needing hunting are little trouble either. As long as they can deal with the cold.

Which might be by far the biggest problem with this entire northern realm. It's so cold even absolute Zero doesn't change things that much. It's annoying for a card you have to be rendered useless, even if it's not one you rely on overly much.

After a night sleeping till slightly before dawn again, I leave the pale lady's city and kill a few ice elementals to deal with my irritation at the cold beds and lack of comfort. They are similar to the one sealed in the south... But here they roam freely all over the place. It seems that adventurer city is in one of the weakest locations on the continent except for the Holy Empire. Not really all that surprising. Or that bad.

My flight takes me over the North Pole before I turn south again. Hehe... South from the North Pole. That's every direction isn't it?
Anyway I fly south in the direction of adventurer city. But along the way I run into something quite interesting... A battlefield between ice and fire.
Giants covered in frost throw snowballs the size of houses towards Giants blazing with fire throwing equally large balls of fire back. Each stays on its respective terrain as they continuing throwing things back and forth, in some sort of mad battle without any real fighting. Each individual has a gigantic sword almost 5 meters long on their waist, so it's not like they can't. Each one also stands about 9 meters tall... Not large for Giants, but plenty big enough for the surface. Ice and fire Giants. Wonderful.

They break off soon and each returns to its respective land. I follow the ice Giants first, marking their camp on my map before going south and doing the same for the fire Giants in the Ash plains. Two more locations discovered, yippee!

My trip south is again interrupted later that morning, as I come upon a massive sea of liquid rock and burning slightly in the dry air. A sea of fire...

Within I see fish of many types swimming around. I dive and grab a couple... Obsidian worms, which use a rare oil to make themselves immune to flame, and lava fish, which excrete a different oil which burns extremely long and hot. Both are quite useful for various things. I also see creatures forming from the lava splashed ash... Ash beasts of every shape and size. Very annoying and useless, they should probably be killed off.

And then I see something else in the center of the sea of fire. A massive fortress with red stone walls and fire sprouting from every window, guarded by burning creatures formed entirely of flame. Wrath demons. This fortress is of wrath, a realm of Ira. Within, I sense elementals, demons, and even lesser Devils like those in hell. And at their head sits an Arc demon who likely left in anger at not holding as high a seat of power as he wanted. A ruler of wrath, incredibly powerful and deadly. Not smithing anyone wants to fight without really, really flood reason. And I have no such reason today.

So I turn to the south and pass the fortress and sea of fire... Or I would if I didn't see simmering fishing on its edge. Humanoids, but with scales like Lizardmen and wings like my silver pair. Dragonmen, then. They have gathered several lava fish and obsidian worms, plus a few others I don't recognize, and are killing the ash beasts as they make their way east. Curious, I follow from above as they start skimming over the ground and return to a village hidden in the side of an ash covered hill.

I land to try and talk with them. They are aggressive at first, but my own wings convince them that I am something similar to them. Not untrue, but not entirely true either.

They are apparently the children of princesses of humanity kidnapped and held hostage by dragons many centuries ago, those that heroes did not save. Ling since both the human kingdom once tormented and the dragons who did the tormenting had been wiped out, leaving only the few of them to rebuild a struggling race under their great God and protector... I stopped listening at that point. They have some religion or something which explains their origins under said gods protection and are happy to deal with other intelligent beings, which is all I wanted to know. That established, I get a list of 'help wanted' requests and take off to continue my journey southward.

I'm done in the ash plains.
The dawning sun rises as I continue southwards. I stop by a familiar cloudy castle to kill a giant who tries to stop me and grab its core for a guild quest worth 300 gold. I also swing by a nest of firebirds and thunderbirds, enact a slaughter with Alatum, and grab a red feathered head for another 300. I love making money this easily. Killing the dragon was so much more annoying. At least these things stay dead.

My journey southward along the mountain takes a break as I find a solitary spire rising from the border between them and the grasslands. I hesitate only a second before diving and walking in boldly.

It is a realm of undead. Ghouls, zombies, skeletons, wraiths... Boring, cliche stuff after the realm of liches I was in recently and especially weaker than grim reapers. I ignore them completely as I climb and search for the towers boss.

After about thirty... Or maybe forty floors, I find a room that is completely sealed to both magic energy and sound. Deciding this has got to either be my destination, or the most expensive trap ever conceived, I throw the door open and jump in.

"What...?" A gravely voice of long dead vocal cords asks.
"Oh, hello again young lady." A cold voice without emotion greets.
"Huh?" A childish girls voice rings out in response.

Inside, I see the ruler of the tower, an old Lich wearing an elaborate robe and holding a silvery staff, talking to a black cloaked and hooded figure without physical form. A grim reaper... And from its greeting and half a scythe in its hand, the same one I fought the day before yesterday to escape the underworld. I slowly take a step backwards and try to close the door before running as fast as I can.

"Oh, come take a seat. You're not interrupting anything." The reaper says, appearing behind me and giving me a bit of a push inside. I look at it in irritation, but it simply laughs me off and goes back to the table where the Lich is sitting. I walk over and take the third seat, only to be confronted by a game of Chinese checkers.

    ...

    ...

You two just wanted a third player, didn't you?
I glare at both of them. The Lich has the grace to look ashamed, studiously avoiding looking at the stumbling zombie in the corner, while the reaper seems even more amused and starts chuckling in its creepy voice. I shake my head in annoyance while moving my piece first. I'm at least taking this much of a handicap to punish them.

Half an hour later, I'm staring at the board wondering where all my pieces went while the Reaper is rolling around laughing and the Lich is looking extremely satisfied with itself. I feel my face growing hot, but I push it down and prevent myself from demanding another round. I have a feeling it will go as badly as this just did. The Lich is really, really good at this game.

"Normally I would kill the defeated challenger, but I liked your style of play. First timer, no?"
The Lich asks me while I'm still looking at the board. The honest answer is no... Therefore I am absolutely nodding my head and carefully avoiding looking into its eye...sockets. It must never know...

The reaper who lost even faster than I did is done laughing and puts a cold hand on my shoulder.
"So, don't you think she's a lot of fun?" It asks the Lich, who seems to be thinking intently. I shrug off its hand and try to punch it in the stomach, though it simply becomes incorporeal and I pass right through. Cold and uncomfortable. Let's not do that again.

"Indeed. And a good sport for a powerful being, not getting upset at her loss at all." The Lich finally says. The reaper seems pleased at that and looks at me again. I think. It doesn't exactly have visible eyes...
"So, no hard feelings about the whole fight thing, right?" It asks me in its same emotionless tone. To which I respond, maybe a bit unladylike,
    "I kicked your ass."
    Because it's true.

Unfortunately that starts the cold laughter off again, which is really getting on my nerves. It holds out a robed hand towards me.
"So you did. I'm Lannecros, Mid tier Grim Reaper. Nice to finally meet you, Alliuna Palata."
"Likewise." I respond to be polite while trying to crush its vaporous hand. He really, really gets on my nerves.

The Lich, the Reaper, and I play a few more games until the reaper tries to start strip poker and I storm out, furious. After punching him in the face with a spirit gem, of course. That one hit. I think I sent him all the way back to hell. Anyway, I feel like one more guild quest is needed to finish this little adventure and I know just the Iridium mine to use for it.
After a quick dip into the desert mine to grab a few chunks of Orichalcum (lol) aka Iridium, I return to adventurer city and land in front of the guild hall. Now, the question that remains is how to present these results...

    Let's lay it all out:
3 Tyrant Ent Branches, slightly burned
28 mermaid corpses (fresh from the pocket dimension)
1 Illusion essence torn from the body of a powerful monster in the City of Dreams
1 list of Oasis village needs.
    1 Redon Cave map
10 Hard beetle carapaces, plus a poison maggot venom sack
1 Delta town list of requests, with a list of tropical village needs tacked on to the bottom.
Aquamarine gems and a sea serpent bone.
    Leviathan's Challenge, written out.
Butterfly people and witch coven lists of requests.
    Arachne silk, and more requests.
A plant from near the sleeping Forest Lord Morian
A report of what Morian is... And that he's probably awake by now.
Dragon metal sample (must... Not... Give up... The Precious...)
    Living stone from crooked mountain
Electric wisp in a bottle (forgot I had this...)
    Tentacle corpse
    Black vampire metal knife.
    Succubi Crystal touchscreen
    Black clothes of fallen angels
    Traveling fortress request list.
Succubi token of peace (if I give this to someone else Illustia's gonna kill me...)
Treacherous port candy (probably poisoned. Feed to Reachii @A5G_Reaper to check)
    Treacherous port weapons (definitely poisoned)
Far East map (and Knight leaders requests)
    Lamia scale
Were clan map and book on becoming a werebeast
    Skeleton from Dead Man's rest.
Token of merchants from the Pale Queen's City.
Eternal Ice from the far north
Frost essence from ice elemental slaughter
    Ice and fire giant Map
Lava fish and Obsidian worms (lots)
Dragonmen village request list and a few scales and tears for trade (someone wanted those, right? @Zero300)
    Cloud giant heart
    Firebird head
The sweet taste of vengeance on Lannecros.
    10 kilos of Iridium/Orichalcum
An extreme build up of exhaustion, mental and physical.

... That helped nothing. Fine then, I kidnap all of the receptionists into my pocket dimension, where I set up a small conference room and start making a really long speech while forcing them all to listen. @DCLXVI and @shad12ow listen attentively, Guildmaster @Ldyrdy doesn't seem to realize that I'm going to shock him again every time he falls asleep, @Orphellia seems to think she should be the one talking and is stunned when she is silent (though she starts smiling partway through... Interesting means of adapting), @LivingCorpse is madly rambling about some heroes and wanting to fly instead of walk (plus something something magical girl something maid something magic) while in a village dress, @Martik26 seems to be attempting to figure out what the table is made of (and listening every time I mention crafting), and @Cryotic, @Speedy, and @Kiwionwheels are pretending to not exist as usual.

After I finish, I return them to the guild less than a second after we left and let them start going over the items I brought back. I demand 100 gold per explored location from @Ldyrdy, of which there are 22, and 50 per discovered location, of which there are 42. That totals to 4300 gold pieces which I shake him down for, plus the 1180 max for the 5 normal quests I completed. From my list, I find that I have now competed 50 quests, leading me to demand the A rank promotion test from the Guildmaster still limply hanging in my hand.

Hope you all enjoyed the read! Sorry it's so unbelievably long.
