Spoiler: More Quests with Blackie

Entering the guild, I looked at the quest board for any interesting or new quests. However, it seems that there were only old quests. So, I decided to go slay some monsters. After choosing the quests I felt were easy and quick to finish, I took the copy of the quests and jumped on Blackie. With a screech, Blackie took to the air and we headed south towards the desert. The first quest is to slay some Cyclops. From the map, I can see that this a Cyclops Hill in the south. Remembering how Cyclopes came and attacked Chogan's home, I decided to help the Taurens vent some anger.

Minutes later, we arrived at Cyclops Hill. Looking down, I see a group of 10 cyclops warriors marching north. It seems that their target is the Tauren Village.

"Hmph, not on my watch." I snorted as I urged Blackie towards the group of Cyclopes.

Blackie dove towards the Cyclopes, scattering them. As Blackie flew towards each Cyclopes, I took out my skinning knife and beheaded each Cyclops. After finishing off the band of Cylcopes, I removed an eye and stored it in my bag. Then, I looked at the corpses and burned them to ash.

After finishing off the 10 Cyclopes and collected the Cyclops eye, I headed towards the Ant Nest. Upon arriving at the nest, I scanned the surroundings and chose the furthest one from the rest. Using the method I used previously, I made an encirclement around the nest with firewood. Then, I poured alcohol on the firewood and on the nest. Then, I cast fireball that is made of Flames of Wrath onto the nest and the firewood. Fire spread out and continued burning. Ants started pouring out only to get caught in the fire. Blackie took out the stragglers and escapees. After minutes have gone by, all the ants were killed and the nest was burned to the ground. Finishing up, I jumped on Blackie and we flew towards the north to North Mountains.

Half an hour later, we arrived at the North Mountains. A battle was going on between a Wyvern and a Firebird. Approaching closer, I heard the conversation that the two battling beasts were exchanging.

"Your kind killed my son!" The Wyvern roared. "Admit it you cowardly bastards!"

"Hmph! Where's your proof you fake Dragon?!" The Firebird snorted.

"There were flame marks all over his nest! Other than you vile creatures, who else can it be?"

"Flame marks? Hmph! You wannabes are so stupid compared to the real Dragons. Just because there's fire doesn't mean it couldn't be those adventurers."

It seems the two are fighting over the deaths and destruction that was caused by me and Blackie a few days ago. I sent Blackie a mental message and told him to use the tactic we did previously. With a nod, Blackie charged towards the two fighting monsters. As we neared the monsters, we separated from each other. I jumped towards the Wyvern and Blackie rammed towards the Firebird.

"Who are you?" The Firebird growled as it winced in pain.

"Uncle, you don't remember me?" Blackie asked with a evil grin.

"Y-you...you're supposed to be dead!"

"Blackie! Kill him, don't let him report back to the Firebird Patriarch!" I shouted.

With a nod, Blackie charged towards the Firebird. The Firebird snorted and charged forward as well. *CRAASSSHH!* The two birds collided with each other. But, Blackie was stronger and pushed back the Firebird. Then, he reached towards the Firebird's neck and smashed the Firebird into a mountain. While, they were fighting, I crashed the Wyvern to the ground. The Wyvern's legs were broken from the landing and could not stand up. Jumping off the Wyvern, I cast a fireball at the Wyvern. The fire spread quickly and endlessly until the struggling Wyvern burned to ashes. I looked up to see how Blackie was doing.

Blackie was faring better because he was stronger. The Firebird was thrashed around under Blackie's throws and was soon battered to exhaustion. Collapsed, its flames seem to be dimmed significantly. When a Firebird's flames dim, it represents that their health is diminishing and it dies when its flames are put out.

The Firebird looked at Blackie and growled, "You won't dare!"

"Hmph." Blackie snorted before stomping on the Firebird's neck, breaking it.

After Blackie killed the Firebird, he grabbed the corpse and placed it at my feet. I stored the corpse into my storage ring. Then, I jumped on Blackie and we flew back to the guild. I submitted my successes.

 

Hmm.. Report taken.. Full mark on the mission... Can't count it since I'm on phone.. And I wonder about the firebird patriarch.. Kek...

 

oh thats the father of my mount Blackie. i described about him in previous stories

 

Yeah... I was thinking that you brought it up again.. I wonder what kind of twist u had in mind.. Firebird invasion?

 

invading them maybe...but not now. also i finished @a101011's commissioned quest earlier and he approved

#AB1 - Forbidden Spring (B rank):
There is supposedly a sacred Spring deep in the forest, guarded by herds of unicorns and fairies. Find out if that's true or not. Oh, and if youdamage the spring or hurt any of the animals near it you're supposedly going to get cursed with eternal misfortune. So if you happen to do that, I'll have to fail your quest. Nothing personal, it's just good business.

#AB2 - Mermaid Burial Trench (Brank):
The Mermaids are worried about thedark miasma leaking from their ancient burial site, a trench that is miles deeper than their city. You'll probably dies long before you get there due to the crushing pressure and the overall inability to breathe, but hey, got to humor our allies don't we? Get down there and check it out.

I stepped out of the Guild Hall, hoping that the new change to my mental state will be beneficial to the Guild. I walked calmly down the dirt road, taking in the sights and observing the townsfolk. When I exited the city walls, I looked around to make sure nobody was near me, and i sprinted South on the main road. I crossed the river near sundown, and entered the Desert Mine. I found nothing in the mine that was hostile, and since I don't require sleep, I mined throughout the night.

I returned to the outside world, and turned to take the Eastern Road towards the Tauren Village. To avoid confrontation, I went around the Village and went to the South of the Mountain Range, where the Mountains were not as high. I hiked through the Mountains and reached the Vale Forest. I scoured the Forest for hours, and I finally found the Sacred Spring. I looked at the Quest Details from the Quest, it never said to find anything at the Sacred Spring, so I marked it on my map and went back to the West.

I passed the Desert Mine, then the Any Nests, and I eventually reached Delta Town and bought a glass bottle. I took a turn on to Derelict Coastal Road. When I reached the Blue Lagoon, I stepped in the water. I have no need for air so I reached the Burial Trench in no time. What happened was that someone dug into a grave that held a dark miasma deposit, and it leaked into the ocean, causing the nearby wildlife hostile. They but me, but they soon realized that they couldn't bite into steel and left me alone. I used the glass bottle I bought in Delta Town to captureb some of the Dark Miasma in case someone at the Guild has need of it.

#SE6 - E rank - slay 100 rats (max gold is 100) - the villager are complaining about it

A skeleton wyvern perched on top of a small cave sure made an impressive sight...

But I bet other people would mistake it for a rogue monster and kill it.

Psyx was worried. I wonder if I could just buy this area around the cave so other people won't be able to come in...

Heh. If I had that much money I should make an Invisibility Potion instead. And it's not like I'll be away from it for such a long period of time.

Still, I should save up for that potion.

Long after the sun had set and magical lamps greeted the night, Psyx brought her beast-head zombies with her to town to do another quest while avoiding being seen by other people, lest they get some ideas and make a fuss. They used narrow alleyways and hid in the shadows until she found a manhole, and herded her minions inside.

The sewers were damp and dark and full of rats she needed to kill. Well, not personally, because she had her undead monsters to do it for her. Man, minions are so convenient. It was a pain to bring them all for proof, though, and Psyx bet the Guild wouldn't want anything to do with 100 smelly rat corpses. Thus, she only took the tails and left the rest in a pile for other sewer pests to feast on. Psyx dropped by the Guild to show them the tails, went back to the cave to fetch her wyvern, and together they flew towards the Crumbling Ruin for her exploration quest.

#AD5 - Crumbling Ruin (D rank): old spooky castle, lots of cobwebs and crumbling stone, recent earthquakes in the area, what could possibly go wrong? Of course I want you to go find out the hard way!

Spoiler: Crumbling Ruins Exploration Quest

The old castle was sinister and eerie even in broad daylight, though it didn't matter one bit to Psyx. It thrilled her instead, thinking about what kind of corpses or skeletons she might be able to find. Ah, this isn't good. I'm getting too excited.

She flew around the castle for a while, taking note of the whole structure and peeking in the windows. The stone walls and floor was weak and crumbling, and it might not be safe for her to walk around carelessly. However, the wyvern was too big to pass through the halls and doors. If only I could float...

Hm? Oh, could it be that the goal for this quest is to find out whether there are any ghosts lurking inside?

Landing on the courtyard and bidding the wyvern to stay some distance away, Psyx looked up and sized up the place. Yeah, very attractive to wandering souls, and who knows how many people have died here in the past? There might be dungeons and treasures buried underground...pity I can't look around.

While she mused she took out her wand and prepared to summon the ghosts. I'm guessing there should be around a hundred thousand max.

She chanted a hundred words from memory, and a million came out.

Oh, shit.

They descended upon her like a tidal wave of imprisoned beasts escaping from their jails and seeing the sun again after a very, very long time, and it took all Psyx had to rein them in and seize control. She felt like she was trapped inside a vial where liquid kept pouring in, and though she was able to swim she had to restrain the impulse to save herself until the vial was full. When the ghosts were finally all gathered around her and her body was about to burst, she spent her last reserves of strength to cast a spell and chain the spirits to her will. Her knees buckled and she dropped to the ground upon completing it, wheezing and moaning about a massive headache. Damn. I thought this quest was going to be easy.

She remained lying there until the sunlight burning her face became too much to bear, which is when she gingerly sat up and munched on some bread and meat to regain her strength. Psyx glanced back at the castle again and it looked...lonely. It's too worn out for repairs, so it might get demolished and rebuilt in the future. Or maybe the land will be used for something else; who knows?

Ah...I wanna go back to the cave and sleep. Yawning, Psyx stood up and felt a heavy weight on her shoulders. She would have stretched and tried to ease the stress on her muscles if she wasn't so tired.

The flight back home was a difficult battle of trying not to fall off her wyvern and into eternal slumber.

I only do the others for the challenge, not for the gold. Not really, there are more items there ripe for the taking! Just think, Dark Miasma, Sacred Spring Water (If one were to deal with eternal misfortune), and all new unknown materials that could be worth a lot of Gold! Just thinking about it makes me want to go back in fray, and find more expensive materials.
