Spoiler: How I got a pet

For these quests, I decide to use Force, since one of its characteristics is huge range. There are some techniques that can reach infinite distance in theory, though the practical range is limited by visible sight. Bring along a binocular, I move to where the Thunder Bird was sighted. Oh, found my prey, let's blow it up real quick..... wait, if this bird is a target for a D rank quest, then it'll probably be quite weak for my current level. I mean, we ARKS fight planet busters on a daily basis after all. So, how about play with it instead?
I walk leisurely to the direction of the Thunder Bird. It seems to notice me when I got near, and process to flee by shooting off whilst cladding itself with lightning. Ha, don't think you are the only one who can make use of electricity.

Turning myself into a lightning bolt, I swiftly follow and shorten the distance. Then, using a tall tree as foothold, I make a huge leap into the air and successfully reach the bird. It looks surprised for a moment, maybe because it hasn't met anyone this reckless till now. Making use of that short span of carelessness, I spread my arms and hug it tightly.

Ooooohh, despite being covered with lightning all over, this bird surprising has really fluffy feathers. Rub rub rub~ sniff sniff sniff~ ooooohh this feeling, I definitely won't even get bored for an entire day straight. Though, being the target of force petting, the Thunder Bird seems uncomfortable and tries to escape by struggling and discharging high-voltage lightning, but to no avail. Are? This lightning feels.... good somehow. Despite being weak, it stimulates seemingly every nerves on my body (even though I don't have nerves, but cords). I've been hit by lightning-based attacks when doing missions before, but this is the first time it feels so pleasant. Mmmmn, this bird has great compatibility with me, plus I like its plumage so I shall make it my toy pet. No, by no mean I'm thinking of electrostimutaion for pleasure. Nope, not at all..
We keep falling somehow, so I twist my body while still hugging the Thunder Bird and land steadily by using Mirage. The Thunder Bird in my arm has stopped wriggling after using a lot mana for a failed attempt to break free. There, there, I won't hurt you so keep me company okay? Which remind, I have some grapes inside inventory, so I take them out and feed to the bird. It give me a look of total contempt, but still munch on them. Uwa, a tsundere~
- From now on your name will be Izuna.
Is it just me or it has a resign-to-fate gaze? Just me being too conscious right? Right. And thus I gained a Thunder Bird companion (forced) named Izuna.

With Izuna between arms, I arrive at the Moonlight Lake. It's a beautiful lake with a crystal clear surface and quiet atmosphere. It's around noon at the moment though, so I can't observe the state of the lake under moonlight. For now, since I have a slime subjugation quest, let's give Izuna a fight debut.

- I choose you Izuna. Use Lightning Bolt!
Izuna glare at me with a scornful look for the 20th times, and process to obliterate the 20th slime to dust. Mmmn, I acquired a nice and loyal pet am I not?
While taking Izuna around to look for slime, I did not waste every chance to gather Moonlight Flowers and Healing Plants that grow a lot in the vicinity of Moonlight Lake. I also took 3 bottles of water from the lake for another quest. With this, everything should be done.

Or not, I didn't kill the Thunder Bird, but captured her instead. Ugh, what to do now?

@shad12ow can I keep Izuna-tan? I don't mind if that quest is labeled failed, but I want to keep her....
