Good morning world! I am A-rank now! I didn't get much celebration yesterday, more like a welcome home party. By party I mean a night-long private session, just the three of us. Yep, Biel's still on my right while Eun-Ha already left to make breakfast. As for Vhera... well, Biel 'coerced' her to go to bed early and stay there. The sleep spell should be wearing off already... we really need a babysitter.

Time to go on those shiny A-rank quest!

...was what I thought. Well, three hours and several hot interruptions later I finally made my way out of the temple. Really, Biel's stamina is inhuman...

Anyway, I took on some assorted quests that I can finish around lunchtime. For ingredients obviously, it's my promotion party tonight! Eun-Ha's cooking would be magnificent!

Okaaay, first on the list... job first, I suppose. I flew east to find roc, as well as the titan Morian. The former was rather hard to find, but I wouldn't miss the latter even if I'm blind.

A massive swirl of nature mana connected to the land itself. Severalfold more than mine, which says a lot. The titan of nature truly deserved its namesake, yes.

It detected me from far further than I liked... bummer. I guess it's naturally attracted to my mana. I don't want its attention, but I guess I'll have to make do.

I wasn't even close when it let loose an audaciously loud roar, up to the point that the sound gained physical shockwave along with it. I almost threw up the content of my stomach when it hit, and I think I got it light. The trees directly in front of it were uprooted entirely.

I flew higher, making sure to stay well out of the tail's range. It threw up trees and rocks and whatnot, I never knew you can use nature magic that way. Well, aside from that slight fascination there's only frustration remain.

It's. Not. Letting. Me. Close.

Not a little bit.

Fifteen minutes later, I groaned in frustration as I conjured another frost dome to block the roar shockwave. I exhausted my repertoire to little success, whatever nick of damage I did got healed immediately while any kind of change were dispelled by the strong energy coursing its every fiber. Nature magic were outright turned against me. I'm not close enough to use telekinesis to grab either the plant or the dragon.

The dome shuddered and cracked, but held. I let it drop as I shot upward, far higher than I've ever tried. Out of the tail's reach, out of the roar's effective range, and unreachable by any thrown projectile.

I had enough air trapped around me by telekinesis. Still didn't help the chill, but I wont be long here.

My mana drained at an astonishing rate, coalescing into water type like a massive blue fog. It condensed water vapour into droplet, and then ice - clouds from far above churned into a cyclone centered two kilometers above Morian, where a piece of iceberg formed. Iceberg massive enough to make those I used to sink ships looks like cute ice cubes. And it still grew.

I was sweating profusely despite the low temperature, black spots filled my vision and dizziness started to grew. I blinked several times to brush away the mana exhaustion, the iceberg still growing to be half the size of Morian. Not as big as I'd like, but this was my limit and the cost to keep it afloat was exceeding the cost to grow it bigger at this point.

I let it loose from my control, only directing it a bit to hit the titan directly. Not like it needed much alteration, Morian wasn't exactly fast.

The tails went to intercept the falling ice, but aside from breaking it into several pieces it was still large enough to cause a small earthquake upon contact. I dived down, knowing that no such opportunity will rise again. My mana was masked by the residual mana from the iceberg, its head was angled away, and the tails were focusing on brushing off the remaining frost and squashed guardians off its back.

I reached a particularly mangled earth dragon, telekinetically dragging it off Morian while also fetching lots of uprooted trees from its back. I immediately scampered off before it locked on me, thankful that my mana deprivation greatly reduced the ping I gave out. I was already far away when Morian finished cleaning itself up.

A long distance east later I stopped, panting as I dropped everything and just lay on a rock. I raised one hand to cover my eyes, then I started laughing.

"Oh boy, I really need a high level spell..."

Apparently it's true that the further you fly east, the more likely a roc will come and grab you for lunch. Well, that particular roc with twelve meter wingspan didn't look all that big after Morian and unlike their smaller cousin on the icy mountain, they dont have elemental attack. Just some ridiculous speed. Which didn't matter when it tried to claw my frost dome, got stuck, and got its lung filled with some newly grown bushes.

I happily dragged the roc, Morian's trees, and earth dragon head - they're made out of literal earth and plant! I can't eat these, oh the horror! - south, where I flung an iceberg to an unsuspecting pirate ship and collected the captain's tricorn. Followed by liberal mana pulses that roused most things, I've collected a giant sea serpent, two kraken, a dozen tunas, as well as four giant crabs. All nice and frozeb. I hope I didn't overfish.

Well then, time to go home!

"Shadooow! Morian's stuff outside," I pointed at the pile of glowing trees with an earth dragon head atop. "Here's for the pirates," Tricorn goes to his head. I wonder how many he got by now? "And finally, roc and sea serpent and kraken. Will be cooking those. Please invite as many people tonight to the Chaos Temple! Celebrating my promotion yesterday!"

rats are part of nature, deri.
they spread seeds as well as disease, deri.
and their multiplying speed is ten times than of goblins, deri.

that's why to preserve nature balance rats should be erased periodically, deri.
even in my village the residents always performed a thorough rat extermination in and around the village, deri.
that my role as an eco-friendly adventurer from eco-friendly village could be carried on anywhere, deri.
i took this quest, deri.

half of the reason was because i'm bored, deri.

so i asked the city guards to let me get inside the sewers, deri.
and this was where my agony began, deri.

my nose was dead, deri.
my keen nose couldn't be used for 3 days after that, deri.

there were plenty of bugs and animals that were considered plague carriers, deri.
and even i overhunt them they won't extinct, deri.
rather, it will help maintaining the city's overall health condition, deri!
so i rampaged inside the sewer, deri.

i lost count after 132nd rats, 116 G-demons, 72 centipedes, 55 sewer toads, and 1 spider, deri.
why only one spider, deri?
BECAUSE I'M AFRAID OF SPIDERS, deri!
it caught a stray blowdart, deri.
i hastily ran out of sewer when i saw that spider, deri!

when i exited the sewer i was asked by the guards, deri.
apparently i caused too much noise down there, deri.

then i dived the southern sea towards the mermaid capital, deri.
according to Reachii, i would be in danger of oceanic pressure, deri.
but Rimul is strong, deri!
i believe in him, deri!

or so i thought.

only a few kilometers off shore i was attacked by a kraken, deri!
and then a megalodon came butting in, deri!
the battle was so fierce i got caught in their attacks, deri.
swayed by sudden current changes and small vortexes plus the bites, Rimul's submarine cocoon couldn't stand, deri.
it cracked very badly, deri.
it was fortunate that i wasn't too deep, deri.
we could still stand the pressure although it was somewhat painful, deri.

we went back to the shore, deri.
after a few hours resting we went back to rechallenge, deri!
i didn't want to fail a mission, deri!
so we once again dived, deri.

the battle was still taking place, deri.
so we passed around them, deri.
lucky they didn't notice us, deri!
like that i arived to the mermaid capital, deri.

i didn't know the exact location of the mine, deri.
so i asked for directions to them, deri.
but i couldn't communicate well with them, deri!
i spoke inside the cocoon and they sounded like "uyFLYgUfygfku" to me, deri.

i took out my pickaxe and demonstrated mining movements, deri.
they finally understood and pointed to a direction, deri.
one of the gate guard even called her friend to guide me there, deri!
they are kind mermaids, deri.

i arrived to the mine safely, guided and protected by the kind mermaid, deri.
so i started mining, deri.
with the mermaid's assistance i could mine 5 beautiful aquamarine stones, deri!
i'm sure Shadow would be pleased seeing these stones, deri.

i wanted to thank them so i went back to the capital and presented them some fruits and dried meat, deri.
it seems they didn't want the meat but accepted the fruits, deri.
i'm glad, deri!
thank you, mermaids!

on the way home i saw something strange, deri.
it was disguised on seabed, deri.
the shape was a star and it was black with red stripes and red round stone at the center, deri.
and it was a s big as the guild building, deri.
i thought it was some structure mermaids made, deri.
turned out it was a giant turtle, deri.

i didn't continue observing, deri.
because it was already late, deri.
it would be bad if i haven't arrived on shore soon, deri.
undersea night wouldn't be amusing for a land fox like me, deri.
