Do we really need to rename Adventurer's City... I mean, there are plenty of other flavorless names out there, Delta Town, Sand Desert, Great Plains, Distant Slopes, North Mountains... Do I need to continue?

If we were to put an interesting name on every single one of those, we would never take a quest again.

*sigh* Why is it Malum only has weak underlings? I just raise my hope for little bit when they appear, but all of them vanish in an instant. Is it strange? It IS strange. Malum is strong enough to seal a god out of their own realm, but his servants are defeated by positive emotions onesided. Does he think I'll freak out or does he just underestimate me? Whatever it is, he's sure incompetent for not being able to satisfy me one bit. I mean, those guys earlier, a rotten slime thingy with lots of wriggling worms, a tall and muscular devil that screams 'unfit' scenario, and a chimera with variety of bizarre parts, all of them should be amazing on paper at least. Yet, I'm still untouched.

Oh? I sense another one, here I co..... aaaaaaand dead. Stop it, stop pushing up my hope. Yamete. At time like this I really want to hug Izuna to cure my sadness. But she is not here when I wake up, nor I want to put her in danger of being here.

After fighting (?) my way through dozens of minions, I finally reach the center of The End of Time. Why do I know this is the center? Because it stands out. First of all, I am now standing at the top of the highest and biggest tower. There are some bridge-like structures that link this tower with the smaller ones, in which I use to climb up here. Unlike the rest of this realm, this vast surface look like a dead garden, with withering flower and tree scattering around. And the most stunning feature is the floating several-kilometer-wide spherical stone orb with various mysterious sculpted patterns above a sinister-looking mansion.

The door to the mansion open. From inside, an emaciated pale wizard-like man wearing a brown robe and holding a long magic staff walk out and greet me.

- Welcome to my little space. My name is Malum, a magician. I see you've successfully repelled my guards with no effort. But.....

In a blink of an eye, his silhouette disappears. And I hear his voice coming from behind.

- ....don't think of me like those weaklings....

But when I turn around no one is there.

- ....You know, I never put too much works into creating minions....

From the left.

- ....because that will drain my power needlessly....

From above.

- ....I will become the most powerful being in existence....

From far away.

- ....and I won't let anyone stand in my way....

From everywhere, from all directions, his voice resounds clearly. I see, so this is the former master space-time magician. I get caught by a bind formation immediately when still rolling, but luckily the rifle barrel is pointing at that formation, so I pull the trigger to destroy it. When I stand up, before I even have time to take a breath, two huge purple clouds of seemingly high acidic toxin are approaching from both sides. I switch weapon to launcher and use Flame Bullet to burn and disperse most of the cloud. Then a hopeless feeling fills me when I see Malum up in the air, who is controlling hundreds of black magic condensed orbs filling the whole sky.

- Hahahahaha! Your despair is delicious. Now die before the ultimate power!

His hand lightly waves, and following the command, the orbs rain down on me. I try to use Sphere Eraser to shatter some of them, but the number is simply overwhelming. Soon, the place I was standing meets a big explosion, following by the disappearance of one third of the center tower....
