Discussion Harry Potter without magic and full of christianism... really?

So I recently discovered this old gem(LOL), a christian mother rewrote all of Harry Potter so her daughters could read it without turning into witches, she took out the magic, made voldemort an anti-christian-ism politician and some other changes... REALLY...
So maybe some of you had already knew of this for a long time and some not, what are your thoughts on it?

You mean she overwrote years of hard work and twisted a masterpiece!!!! No witches... no voldemort...NO MAGIC! Thats taking away the entire essence of Harry potter!

I have a friend whos a chriatian and thier a huge Harry potter fan. She was really excited for the screen play release that came out a while ago. You dont need to change it to be christian friendly...

My thoughts? Who cares. In my opinion she should have left the magic and just made it an actual school of miracles. All the students being blessed like Samson or Solomon and they should have fought demons and Satan.

Normally people crazy enough to do that would seek to burn the book rather than rewrite it...

 

This kinda make me think of the Christian Sonic fanfic, a horrible idea.

 

I saw it in the past.

The first chapter made me sick. Hagrid was a funny, blustering and lovable guy in the actual novel...and he seemed to have become some sort of saint....

The second chapter drove me crazy. Song of Sinners?!! Wtf?! And how did Harry, who only just learnt what Christianity, suddenly memorised and quote the Bible?!! That ff is shit!!! I know you shouldn't rate stuff in just 2 chapters, but this FF is an exception.

Really disliked the fact that the author turned Harry's aunt into a business woman, making it seem that woman working is something wrong as well.

Hmm... It would be more interesting if it turns to be politic scene without religion or using religion for gains as underhanded methods.
Too bad the book only turn like that.

 

Yeah In the books Harry comes across as a cocky, stubborn and kinda poutish/childish person.

 

I hate how the majority of my religions followers believe that magic is inherently against god...even though all things are created by god... and nothing has power unless its by god. Yet when a prophet claims that they can heal and cure permanent illnesses its inherently of god. Nothing on this earth can exist without god and nothing can influence it without him yet magic is some how evil and detestable?

Ah the hypocrisy.

I applaud her creativity and hope its a good book BUT I really can't agree with her stance on magic and rewriting an entire book so that your daughter can be indoctrinated even more deeply into a religion she may or may not actually agree with. I really detest zealots.

Her daughter wont even be able to say she read Harry Potter, at most she'll be able to say she read her mothers original tale based around the concept of Harry Potter with the same setting and plot but with a core difference in theme.

I'll never read this novel and feel for the child.
