So now we will need to wait for a Raven to catch up 240 chapters ? Feels Bad man, it is a blow for a funbase(cause no way it will gain more readers than it will lost). I get why there is a need for a re-translation but no way in hell it is a better decision than just continuing.

Because Shif, I assume, doesn't want to pay for licensing and doesn't want to get legal troubles with Qidian. While Raven just dont care

 

In the end, we can just sum it up with "We are MTL." Looking at most of the comments, they're just going with the idea that MTL = crap. Sighs...

Eh, there are two sides there. Let me find some comments...

For these two, it's necessary to westernize. It just doesn't work for the setting if everyone has a Western name but one or two are somehow given Chinese names. Only Zhao Hai's naming sense being Chinese would work. He's from Earth and was from China. Why would I westernize his Chinese name!?

Honestly, the only arguments I get down about are the ones on the names we do. Try to figure out a name for 昆正 that isn't Chinese. Kun Zheng itself isn't even a very good Chinese name...

Aw... I'd thought it was straight up translation stealing, didn't know y'all were dropping it. I mean, logically it's better that there's no translation war drama but goddammit translation drama is the most entertaining part of nuf. Nuts.

That said, thanks for all the chapters you've released; I'll admit I will be happy to see the sometimes-relevant-sometimes-inane-comments footnotes gone, but other than the naming inconsistency it always seemed like a solid translation to me. From Armoreds' comments about the MTL being an 'injustice' I'm interested in seeing the differences, though.

 

Meh, it's really a matter of speed, if they can release them quickly and get us back to the translated chapter in a couple of weeks with better quality then it's worth it, otherwise diminishing returns set in and most current fans lose interest by the time the story gets to the current point of translation. It's a game of balances.

 

Yeah, I expect we're looking at months to get back to the same point in the story, sadly. So long as the new translator is willing to stick with it it's all good, though; it'll climb its way back up the rankings and get its viewer count back, regardless, so long as releases are frequent and ongoing.
