Scriptor Arlence is a cultivator and Sigilmaster, a rare branch of magic practice that has all but disappeared. After a disastrous encounter with a god in the Eight Trigrams mountain range where she lived a hermit life with her adopted father that ended with her lover (Augustus or ‘Gus,’ a water spirit skilled in the martial rather than magic-oriented branch of cultivation) in a comatose state, she traveled to the Adventurer’s Guild to find a way to cure him.
After various trials, she succeeded in restoring him. They are now married. Together, they are searching for the mythical primordial elemental essences said to have been left over after the creation of all the worlds in existence: the natural elements of air, water, fire, and earth and the divine elements of light and darkness. Called ‘Hearts,’ they are technically unable to be ingested, comprehended, or used in cultivating. However, Scriptor is a master alchemist and has created a method. Only her father and Gus have any knowledge of her success.
In the shadows, there is also an organization bent on collecting these Hearts for an unknown purpose…
