It's different I think. Alphapolis is mainly book publisher platform. Their main profit came from book publishing.
Qidian is... web story platform?
Kinda like syosetsu but with paywall.
Hence why I say you should mimic Qidian, not Alphapolis.
Qidian model I believe can only work well in China with such a huge population. It is better to convert webnovels into books and publish them instead of paywalling the books. Even Netflix has not really been profitable, same with spotify
If you want to enter paperback English language published fiction book, then you need a very big initial capital cost to hire or buy a publishing house.
Although e-manga or e-comics will be more fitting since that is my plan. Ebooks are not much different from web novels so getting people interested won't be as easy. Thanks for answering my questions
