They are, more so once you know how to solve for Δ, but not had to use it in years.

X = -b +or- square root of (b^2 - 4ac) / 2a.

Once you knpw that formula you can do quadratics in your sleep.

? b^2 - 4ac itself is just the discriminate (Δ) though?

We learn it here like this

we write a, b, c as which numbers we have
Then we do the delta as b^2-4ac
After that we do the radical for delta

Then when we find out x1/2 we do - b +- radical delta / 2a

Then if delta > 0 we we can find out x1 and x2, if delta =0 then it's just an x and if it's under 0 we didn't do the quadratic for irrational numbers so I don't do it yet, this year i should learn something about it

Ahh! Got you. Here, they just have us solve delta then plug it into the equation.
QAQ they had us doing guess and check at frist though!!!

We are learnt to do it properly on pieces properly in order. :l it feels easier i suppose since I'm used to it. We aren't made to resolve it in one single go
