There is some huge war, and the enemies are not humans. The MC was a soldier but deserted, ran to another country only to find it was already a dead country. He spent his time reading in the palace library and training. Eventually he gets killed, but when he does, he activates some rebirth artifact he found in the palace. I think he teaches his father crop rotation. With the money from that, he makes his mother open a bakery. eventually his father becomes mayor and causes the village to prosper. He kills a group of bandits targeting the village at a young age. His family becomes nobles. He trains some friends from his village, and goes with those friends to some sort of knight academy. The academy gives out quests, and on one of those quests he kills a serial rapist murderer. I did not find this novel when I looked at the 'Second Chance' and 'Time Travel' tags, so I think that this novel used to be on NU but was deleted, or isn't tagged correctly. I couldn't find it in my reading list though.
I believe that the the one your one talking about is a story on royalroadl. If i remember correctly it incorporated wuxia theme fights.
