Request A game where I can fight medieval/magic with modern weaponry

    Difficult request.

    Star Ocean 2 has a part, at the very beginning, in which one of the protagonists, Claude, uses a laser gun of sorts. It's soon out of comission, though, since it's too OP for a dirt beginner. He'll use swords for the rest of the game. Claude is also from a modern (well, okay, more like futuristic) world and ends up transported into another world (quite literally), so it's really the closest it can get to your request, from what I know. It's a good game, too.

    Other single player games I know of either don't have a gun-wielding/modern world knowledge using character, or have guns but no transported character.

    Well, I guess you could sink some mods into an elder scrolls game (skyrim being the newest in the series) and roleplay a bit, too.

    Mount and Blade with Fire and Sword already have boomsticks. Just fight Crimean Khannate that only had bows and arrows..
