As my only language is english, I just attempted to read the lnmtl and was thoroughly confused. I really guess I need to cultivate more.
I had to quit few novel's i tried to read MTL but , i finished reading 1.5k chapters novel later , i think it might be that it was easier words or something ? I don't know but i pretty much understood 90% of whats written and the rest of the 10% i could make vague sense of with a little bit of time and google. Translations are definatly 500% better but once you realize that it will take 3-4 years to get that novel translated , even if they keep popping 1-2 chapters every day for 3-4 years, you might get motivated to read it MTL or learn chinese
Generally I only ever MTL xianxia, and I use bing (when I tried comparing them the first couple times I liked bing more) Even then, I don't read very far ahead usually, too hard to understand anything, although i can usually understand enough to finish whatever arc is curremtly being translated, but not enough to start a new arc. Does that make sense?
TranslationAssistant (to make 1 chapter to sentences) + Translation Aggregator (use more than 3translate machine, the Power of Quantity) with JParser or Mecab window(will give a great help for Naming and SFX). Are this software combination can work on smart phone?
yes... this fact hit me hard... i choose to start MTL(Translation Aggregator) + learning japanese using JParser(also on Translation Aggregator). and hoping i can read JP novel with only with JParser help in 2-3 year
Lol whatever MTL you use, just make sure to use to same one so you can adapt to the nuances/habits that they have. Other than that, if you read it line by line, you'll adapt soon enough. It's skimming that gets me confused. The other thing is to copy a sentence you're really confused over (but is really important to the story) and search the words one by one.

I would recommend going through multiple translation sources and comparing them for a better understanding of the story, having different systems translate it would probably go better than a single one. However, that would end up taking a longer amount of time, which is something you're trying to avoid I assume, since you are willing to go through MTL to begin with, in this case, using what was already provided on this thread is probably best.
