The fact that you read it is already telling enough that they should be somewhat similar. Thanks for your input, I'm gonna start reading one of them once I got home.

Try Kyuuketsu Hime wa Barairo no Yume o Miru if you haven't already. It has the same elements of Overlord as the MC has many followers. It can get pretty dark as well. The MC is a guy who died but transmigrated to the body of his vampire loli game character. The translation can be pretty engrish though.

    Goblin Kingdom
–a tale of founding an eponymous kingdom. A zealot weakling rebels against the reality of his species's inability to survive in a world teeming with predators. He displays the noble traits of a barbaric king. Though seeming romantic, this novel delves deeper into the darkness of ambitions and how hopes turn to illusions. This emphasizes the struggle of a leader who wishes to bring his people to a great light despite of the darkness within him.

    Slime Tensei Monogatari
–a more realistic approach to otherworld survival. It is darker than Re:Monster and Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, whose protagonists dally themselves in their luxuries as kings. In this novel, an ordinary man who doesn't hesitate to help anyone is reincarnated into the body of a slime whose sole saving grace is its quick-paced evolution. However, the world isn't forgiving to the newbie of food chain and offers great struggles to the poor slime. Every action the slime would take requires to be premeditated thrice, or a fatal danger might befall his ephemeral existence. Clearly enthralling and somehow morose. It depicts just how bitter, lonely, and dangerous living in an unknown world is.

    • Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu
–an ordinary high-school student is dumped into another world. It begins clichéd. However, it would soon progress into darkness. It tells how the mind of an ordinary human could defend its sanity against the most irrational circumstances and entities in the new world. His emotions would then tame his perception to be cynical, and dark.

And of course, I Kinda Came to Another World, but Where's the Way Home? This is probably one of the most excellent novel with a dark theme out there. It regales of a young boy's journey in another world in search for a way back home; truly a most sane decision to come up when suddenly thrown to a new world. However, as expected of dark themes, bizarre figures would hinder him and let his young mind suffer pain and desperation.

It's being translated at constant speed tho... (2 months/ chapter)(sort of).... If there's no some special circumstances, you can expect new chapter release in ten days..., hopefully.
