The latest chapter feels like author want MC to become OP as fast as possible.... playing instrument is also reflex. it feels a bit rush
well to be fair, the author just had a 1 year time skip so they needed to bring the character back to speed... and also there is the fact that there have been too many daily life chapters in the past few events and there was no real conflict, so by inserting more strength, he can have a large conflict by making enemies bigger
Hyun-ji is getting reaaaaalllyyyy annoying. She is not going to try to improve, just continue to mooch off her whipped oppa, who is way easier than her firm unni. She'll never grow as a person at this rate
Why would he need to do that? The elves don't have much use for him aside from good looking, especially when he's about to enter a war now.
Then won't he throw away a chance to make a alliance to take on the other factions if he betray the elf? Not to mention he still need the MC's help to save his daughter.
Yeah, odin seems more like the type to do the mission to the letter and not care about anything over arcing. He is likely a leader because that was his mission, and so long as his mission isn't world domination he wouldn't do it. I doubt he would make enemies with the only person who can cure his daughter over a mountain with isolationist elves.
I'm a bit waiting for the other shoe to drop, he's getting praised too much, he needs to fail some more...
At first, when examining the new team. Something like, "Ah, she is female, the lowest score must be hers." Things like that. After all the first test measured potential too, being female shouldnt automaticly mean they have less prospects. But the author doesn't seem to be misogynistic, plenty of strong women in the story. Career women etc. Its just that I felt weird with the views of the author and how he potreyed them. But can't expect him to think like me, completly different culture. But its obvious he respects women, just sees physical ability as insurmountable. Which could very well get him killed in the arena. Though there was the female soldier that beat his ass.
Rather than saying he thinks because her physical abilities are lacking, she did the worst,,, I think he was more remarking that a girl from earth would have a harder time beating a human-like creature to death with no weapons or tools. I'm sure if a composed female version of gangster guy came through, he wouldn't have assumed such a thing~
I just caught up with the novel. And reading through this LCD thread, I totally agree with you here: The MC has no filial piety! His family obviously cares about him. While his mother is a bit heavy handed, as most mothers are, she's willing to hand over her own business success to him if he can't manage to achieve any on his own. Yet, now that he is "successful", he doesn't even consider reciprocating! Sure, his mother likes her work, but she'll probably like it more as a hands-off owner or perhaps opening additional restaurants. Yes, the way he got his wealth is suspicious, but that's no reason to give him pause. The MC is already a pathological liar. Plausible sounding lies just flow out of his mouth whenever he's cornered. Plus there's a threshold for his family thinking his "success" is due to pulling in some dirty money versus WHOA! where did you get $30 million in a couple of weeks! And if he shows that his bank balance increases by huge amounts consistently, his family would shut up quickly and just enjoy his generosity.
‘Everyone says I am this great and smart, but why did I keep failing the civil exam!’ lol I'm wondering too. He seems really smart and he makes clever deductions how on earth did he keep failing the civil exam... maybe he's just horrible at studying. He excels at training, he's focused, he's goal-oriented, he's patient and persistent too. How the hell did he fail at a mere civil exam?! And more than once! Maybe I should starve once and become like MC. Get into a life-threatening situation and awaken my true potential! Damn, this MC really git gud. Oh and John Omento sounds really human. Like Earth human. Maybe Arena?
I'm going to be sad when he eventually has missions that don't involve the elves because I enjoy MC's reactions to Derrick too much.
