the current chapter... the money explanation chapter... I am a bit of these kind of explanations....

his noble family is being an obstacle, especially his father. I really don't trust him being honest to his son.

I've got a really hard time understanding this story. It's like the author tosses oit half a thought and expects the reader to understand every complication... can somebody please explain to me: what all this stuff regarding mc's mom, ashley and the nobles is about?
From what I was able to understand mc's mom, risa, was an outstanding adventurer that picked up grace and didn't want to be constricted by noble etiquette?
she also died during a demon attack and sacrificed herself / was abandoned (by whom exactly?).
and ashley feels indebted to / fangirls risa cuz of this. But why is a higher noble, morris, picking a fight with mc? I mean he's nonpolitical so far and that matter about the duell doesn't warrant that much antipathy.
Also why are nobles gunning for ashley in the first place?

 

isn't that mc's mother a saint and has incurable sickness? people didn't want to get her sickness so she did everything alone? she isn't a noble as well and that society values nobles more?

 

you're right, but wasn't the cause of her death a demon attack? besides she seems to have been part of a adventurer group with rosetta or no?
also that title of saint doesn't get an explanation. could mean anything

 

that means like a hero, I think? like someone entitled as a symbol to destroy demons? um, she was abandoned during the attack. her so-called comrades/adventures separated from her, right? if I read the story correctly...

 

what I don't understand is why she do it? leaving behind her child for what exactly?
also grace offered her blood to save her, was she mortally wounded?
also the people who left her where of the gartner household? (at least they don't seem to be adventurers/comrades)
And what where her preparations for grace and theodore? I think he states his mother may have wanted them to marry / take care of each other?
What bugs me is that the author states the mc has created a detailed origin story for the persona theodore gartner, yet all information regarding it is totally obscure. or is the understanding lost in translation?

 

I don't understand as well ✘Д✘◍no risa's pov chapter translated so far? could it be that it was arranged that way because of theo's dad or that gartner's house? or some jealous noble since she has quite achievements?
most likely, grace was being persecuted with her dhampir blood? or maybe her thirst and uncontrollable power?
remember that rosetta is from theo's dad faction so it can be a possibility?
maybe risa wants theo to marry grace so they can take care of each other, grace won't be killed because of her background.
I think the author's explanation is confusing most of the time.

 

So, I'm not the only one, that's a relieve~.
But I think you're onto something.
So basically the noble's beef is not between theodore and count morris but a political faction war. That explains why having good relations with prince alfred or whatever is a goal of the mc.
So I conclude then that count morris wants to deal a blow to the gartner household/faction and despite wanting to cut his ties with aristocrazy mc achieved the opposite.

uh-huh, I think that way. but mc actually wanted to stay away from that prince? I think? count wanted to destroy mc's reputation because he disrupted his plan of having his son uncontrolled so he could create terror for count's enemies?

 

Mc states in inner monologue that he wants an amicable relationship with the third prince, but decides not to approach him directly at this point, if I remember correctly. (He also recalls the prince to be heavily involved with the 'main quest', what ever that's gonna be)
Also, is it only me or is that count's scheme pretty retarded. I mean I get the 'we need a black sheep to enforce our ambitions' thing. But couldn't he have educated/trained his son directly for that purpose? All that reasoning seemed pretty far-fetched to me.
