When qidian is a bunch of assholes for some reason capitlast countries like mine get blamed, i had no problem with qidian before they started to mess with wuxiaworld, but i do not like liars very much, i trust wuxiaworld much more than I trust qidian, i have been reading on wuxiaworld for years now and they have been great to the readers and the translators and qidian has been very shady and while the translations are good, they have been shady and not very good to the readers

 

I'll read it. Or to be precise, continue reading it. (I kinda dropped it when the novel got transferred over to QI). When I do, i'll comment. Just like others do.

 

Glad to know the Chinese thinks this is a dick move.

 

It's funny seeing this, because it reminds me that before all this qidian could have had a mutually beneficial relationship with Wuxiaworld that would have been extremely helpful in making inroads to the international market. The gains far outweighing any possible losses

well considering Qidian that's we are talking about - they are probably trying to get the system to go on international market -which obviously won't work since they won't have the same monopoly and Chinese unique internet system. Though you have to admit that Qidian system is pretty smart for making money

If and when there's actually enough notable stuff on TL, because frankly the discussion pretty much died down.

As for Zhihu, it's a shitty site. It's basically Chinese Quora, but worse. So it's sort of more akin to Yahoo answers in a way. Also, I've seen quite a few WW supporting comments get deleted, so it's pretty much a biased site. The first 2 threads I chose to translate were from Baidu's 2ch tieba, which is similar to that of the /r/worldnews subreddit, thus offering a less biased discussion ground.

On a side note, as of March 2015, Yuewen Group had over three million books, nearly 100 million users, nearly CNY2 billion annual incomes, and a team of 1,200 people.

Also Tencent is planning to go global with it's new game platform "WeGame". And, it owns shares in some of the biggest gaming companies in the west.

Qidan has already lost face, but if this case ever goes to court Tencent Literature may also loose face.

 

Tencent owns Yuewen(China Reading) owns {Qidan, Chuangshi, Novel reading network, 潇湘书院, 红袖添香， and many other similar website}

Yuewen owns so many website because of 1) history of merging companys, 2) targeted branding

Tencent also invest on Zhihu (the Chinese Quora/Stackexchange), so negative comment about Tencent does not last long on Zhihu

I hated seeing capitalism blamed for this. What's going on here is corrupt corporatism, instead of competing in the free market, QI thinks they're entitled to everything since they're big shots in China. Fuck them.
