Actually I don't think that romance aspect was really explored (perhaps bc I read it with MTL). It felt so sudden... After being engaged, I think they only met about 2-3 times before the wedding.....

After she healed her uncle, the northern Qi's eldest, 10th and crown prince, also a princess came officially. Everyone thought that they wanted to do a marriage alliances, so they started to speculate and pointing out of who would be chosen. At one banquet, YQM faked illness bc she thought it was bothersome. But Hai Tian kept trying to brag about YQM's guzheng skill (she tried to get YQM chosen), the northern Qi princess got very interested, and in the end, the Emperor was forced to invite YQM.
YQM's cousin brother rushed and fed YQM drug (from the physician that healed her uncle) to make her really ill. She also drew dots on her face which absolutely looked fake.
YQM was trying to keep low profile and refuse to perform or lifted her veil. Other accused her of not having a high enough position (not obeying the higher position's request). In the end, it led to CFY proposal to her, asking Emperor's edict (detailed TL can be read in sparklingdawnlight's snippets of chapter 98). At first Yun PM understood that Emperor was reluctant to consent to this marriage (bc then both PM would united), so he kept giving vague answers. But Chu Wang and CFY taunted him, which caused him to agree in the moment of heat.
The eldest prince of northern Qi propose to marry HT. Hai Wang wanted to reject, but in the end the crown prince offered to give HT the position of crown princess which would made her the future northern Qi's Empress. Hai Wang then couldn't refuse anymore.

Anyway after that the northern Qi's group were still in the capital for some times, the princess kept harassing YQM, bc she actually wanted CFY to be betroth to her.
    Which lead me to think....
Didn't they have better thing to do? Like fighting for throne struggle?
It would be funny if while the eldest and crown prince (the strongest contender for throne) were hovering around the capital, the other prince (like 3rd or 4th) managed to get rid of northern Qi's Emperor and inherited the throne.....

There was some girl (WQQ) from JMC's faction tried to trap YQM into being alone with JMC. JMC tried to force himself on her, but CFY came in time. Before CFY came to help, YQM managed to broke JMC's jade ornament (the one that was worn in waist) in half. She took half of the jade and slipped it to WQQ's pouch. Then trapped WQQ to be alone with JMC's lecherous cousin. In the end, WQQ ruined her reputation as the woman who tried to seduce both JMC and his cousin, and she was forced to marry JMC's cousin.
On the way home, in the carriage, YQM and CFY had their first kiss. (detailed in sparklingdawnlight's snippets of chapter 103).

Anyway after that, there was a plaque in some outskirt region, it was the hometown of CFY's mother, so he and Chu Wang volunteered to go, in the end the Emperor only let them go.
Before he went, he visited YQM room at night and stole the ugly embroidery that YQM stitched (she just tried to learn). Detailed TL: https://sparklingdawnlights.blogspot.co.id/2016/08/chu-wang-fei-mini-snippet.html

In the middle of it, SQ gave premature birth with YQM's inducement. Her crime was all revealed and she was punished.

While he was gone, Su minister tried to trapped Yun PM by accusing him of bribery to let both of his nephews passed the exam. The whole family (except the bedridden SQ and her newborn baby) went to jail. Then JMC threaten YQM to marry him, he would fake YQM's identity as a daughter of some rich merchant and take her as his side princess (noted: concubine not the legal wife).

Before that happened, YQM escaped from imprisonment by causing a fire inside the prison. She didn't knew that CFY's underling also disguised her evil sister as YQM.

Right at the marriage, CFY just came back and rushed to the scene, he proposed a toast and asking the bride to lift her veil. The bride shaking and JMC only thought that she felt insecure/afraid of CFY, so he comforted her (LOL). Then when the veil was lifted in front of the guest, everyone recognised that that daughter of rich merchant was in fact YQM's evil sister. So after that, the rumour spread out that JMC was so in love with YQM's evil sister that he would released her from prison and faked her identity just to marry her.

Meanwhile, soon after CFY came back, he asked the Emperor to speed up his wedding. After much chaos by JMC, the wedding finally done in Chu Wang Fu. JMC tried to barge in but prevented by Chu Wang and YQM's cousin brother.

After the wedding, all they did was just taking revenge from the evil plots of other people (like JMC, YQM's family).
The CFY's father and step-siblings arc actually took so long (aprox. 100 chapters); I kept hoping it would ended soon, but it was really long.

On the romance aspect, I think northern Qi's crown prince and Rong Guifei's make a better story, I like their story more.

I actually thought that Su concubine was together with them in the prison, wasn't it stated somewhere in a chapter that her health suffer because of the added stress and poor prison environment plus the difficult birth that is why she was bedridden when they were released...

*it was the 2 nephews that was accused.. also, it was both Chu wang and CFY that went to solve the plague..

En, you are right, i really hate that arc, with all those self importance of his step-brother, and then when CFY and YQM went to this country because of that general's blunder, that is my most hated arc... aaargghhhh...

Niece-> nephew, you're right, so many mistypes, sorry, I was just woke up when I typed those.... I'd corrected those.
Oh, Su concubine also imprisoned? I thought she was bedridden when she had found out what happened to her son. And after being injured and untreated for a long time, no body wanted to take care of her, I remember that she died, her room stank so much (the rotten odour), so when Yun PM was proven innocent and released. Su concubine was found died and the servants (who all hated her) threw her body in front of Su's household.... So I thought that Su concubine was left in the house (not imprisoned too), bc weren't the ones that were moved to the better cell were just YQM (bc of JMC), the cousin (bc she begged YQM to take her in too) and her evil sister (bc she was Su minister's niece...).
Why didn't Su minister treat or move her to better cell too, if Su concubine was also imprisoned?

Huh, maybe i misread, sorry, i read the raws using GT, so i thought i read somewhere that she was in the corner of the prison cell. True, if she was there her brother might have given her a better treatment, i just thought that since her niece is already pregnant by JMC's cousin that he was so confident to ignore/malign his sister's family...

His father felt that since Chu Wang was the biggest contributor to the establishment of West Chu country, the country should belonged to him, so he had been plotting to rebel.
He was stationed in the southern border, and he had been working along with southern country PM.
The step-brother felt entitled about everything, he thought that everything that belong to CFY should belonged to him, and hated Chu Wang for favouring CFY more. The step sister was a spoiled girl, not much was told about her, but she was annoying.

CFY didn't have any feeling to his father, but bc Chu Wang, he had been trying to solve his father's plan to rebel without implying his father.
The father finally realised that he had been spoiling the CFY's step-brother (causing him not accepting his own fault, kept blaming others -the father, CFY, Chu Wang- for everything), and realised that CFY was a too good son for him. While they were attacked when transferred to exile, CFY defended all of them from incoming arrows, yet CFY's step-brother tried to stab CFY from behind. The father tried to prevented him. They struggled, then, the step brother accidentally causing his own mother's death.
There was a coin (it was complicated but it was a key to a treasure, and if found, the Emperor could punished them for rebellion). The step brother took it in the chaos. A minister saw him and wanted to search the step brother. CFY helped him, so the coin was not found. The father was grateful, yet the step brother was still blaming CFY.

In the end, the father gave the coin to YQM for emergency help(bc he knew that CFY would refused), YQM gave it to Chu Wang. The step brother was still unrepentant in the end though.

@ChuChi Yeah those arc were really draggy..... all along, I kept wondering when they would return from the southern country...

No, he didn't like anybody, he was still young...about 14-15 years old, I think... Then again, YQM was also still 16 y o though...
Anyway, he was very jealous of CFY, especially when the father tried to make CFY helped his rebellion by offering CFY to inherit his throne after.

She tried to get close to YQM, YQM thought she was pretty innocent, so treated quite nice, but she rarely appeared in public later (I think the step mother tried to save her for later on when the father would ascend the throne later). The step mother only took her twin "nieces" to the banquet, she seemed to be trying to make those nieces well known in public, the step mother also tried to gather good public opinion.

Oh now I remember, the step mother planned to marry one of her twin nieces to the step brother. I think they were already engaged or sth.

I have a feeling she tried to give one of those nieces to CFY too :D....so his family tried to play nice with them and didnt cause much trouble for YQM ...I would be fun if they all lived under the same roof (since tecnically they are family)

Do we know what happens to the other one of YQM sister's?.....the one whose mother is in charge of her father's house for now

No, since CFY status wasn't clear (not sure if he would stand on the father's side or not) and also the nieces was still 12 years old or so.
The whole family moved into Chu Wang Fu. CFY and YQM lived in Chu Xiang Fu, later on Chu Wang also escaped and freeloading in Chu Xiang Fu, which caused the step brother and step mother to be upset since Chu Wang seemed to ignore them and closer to YQM (granddaughter in law) and CFY rather than the step mother (daughter in law) and the step brother.

CFY's maternal cousin was interested in YQM and asked her whether she had an unmarried sister. YQM immediately thought of that sister. There was no mention further, but I don't think they would ended up together, since the cousin was the heir of dukedom, and the sister was only a shu daughter.

Anyway, in the end, no harm came to Yun PM, he sort of re conciliated with YQM, so I think the sister would be ok. (in some of political decision later, Yun PM would sided with CFY, since he was his son-in-law)

Btw will we ever see other's point of view in the story? ...like the Hai girl in the other kingdom or some sheming inside the harem ?

....thank you so much for the spoilers! <3

Yeah, later CFY's maternal grandpa also came (plus his granddaughter, CFY's cousin) and live with them. Chu Wang kept asking YQM to cook for him.

Not only his step family (they often were the uninvited guests of Chu Xiang Fu), even when the northern Qi's group was still in the capital, they often bothering YQM outside CXF's gate.

There was a little story about northern Qi, prior to CFY arrival to the southern border to solve his father's rebellion.
The northern Qi's crown prince tried to attacked CFY's troop, but CFY shot few arrows at him, causing him to be in critical condition, the 10th prince (he idolised and worshipped the crown prince) tried to hide crown prince's condition, but Hai Tian together with the eldest prince (they have allied) tried to make the crown prince's condition known. They tried to barge they way in, the 10th tried to prevented them, but he couldn't prevented Hai Tian, since she claimed that she was crown princess, so she had right to see her husband. The crown prince forced himself to appear normal in front of the eldest prince, as soon as the eldest prince left, he fainted. The 10th prince was very angry and imprisoned Hai Tian secretly. Later even after the crown prince had already recovered, she was still imprisoned. The crown prince forced her to wrote her monthly letter to the Hai Wang to show that she was ok. But somehow she still managed to revealed to Hai Wang about the crown prince's relationship with Rong Guifei. From then on, Hai Wang and his eldest son (Hai Tian's brother from the same mother) plotted to get rid of Rong Guifei.

They had this "genius" idea that if they just got rid of Rong Guifei, Hai Tian's life would be better at the northern Qi.

Anyway, some of their plot failed due to crown prince's spies' (the crown prince had hidden some of his ninja beside Rong guifei to aid her) or CFY's help. The crown prince often came to the capital secretly bc of Rong Guifei.
Rong guifei had helped YQM few times so CFY helped her in some occasion too. But CFY threaten the crown prince, that if he kept insisting to take Rong guifei, and if it would endanger both CFY and YQM, he would unhesitatingly abandon Rong Guifei.

Anyway, no story about Hai Tian later, but when YQM took refuge in northern Qi and asked Rong Guifei about what happened with Hai Tian, she told YQM that Hai Tian was executed due to being found out of cheating and pregnant with eldest prince's child.
The eldest prince was demoted to being common people (I think, or was he also executed? I forgot)

Edited: most of the harem plots involved of Hai Wang tried to secretly manipulate the Emperor and the Empress to kill Rong guifei.
I came to hate the Emperor in this harem plot.
