Nothing. I guess...
I'm definitely for the cut down in words limit. Twas way too much this time imo, and for you to handle alone as well.
Plus I feel that two judges is a bit too little. At least 3 or 4 would've been better I think, to balance the opinions more out.
Otherwise the contest has been done very well (apart from the time it took to complete) and I don't really have any other gripes with it, I guess. I think you did a great job!
I do have a few small wishes or parts I would've liked to see included. Such as a 2nd and 3rd place would've been nice, considering the number of contestants. Of course no medal would be needed for them, but yeah, just displaying their names would've gotten them more screen time and more interest in appreciating their stories. As well as mentioning any judge's personal favorite would be nice too as well as a small/super short commentary on why that was their favorite piece. Although a poll would be nice too, it would ultimately end up in a popularity contest unless the entries were anonymous till the end. A time limited poll or something. But yeah, it was great anyways. I'm just glad it's done now
There could be a rule refraining anyone from doing that, or else they will be removed from the contest. And any false shout-outs are visible to see then if the work displayed gets removed or not. Iirc, mods have the power to edit polls.
Convo? Discord? They could always use different things
Add more judges? Make a popularity poll too on some random member here?
Well in-case if it happens, then the Google sensei will need to be imprisoned.
I would suggest avoiding the editing part on future contests, at most fixing minor typos on it, instead of a proper editing like you did.
The current system made some people troubled at the changes and gave you too much work as well...
Scrolling is a pain using phone. Please use spoiler. :/
Judging was anonymous lol. This was a blind contests. The judges only found out the authors after the contest was over.
The judges personal favorite and commentary can be found by the bias scores. The winner was the highest ranked overall from both, even individually. I did an editors pick where I marked some as my favorites in the ToC though ^_^
Polls are ew... but I might add one just so people can do a "Thanks guys!"
I'm using phone too ^_^'
Try clicking "back to top" and navigating with the table of contents. You should be able to scroll the table left and right with your finger. It got way too long to scroll on mobile so I made it two columns.
Reading so much, the thought if it makes me dizzy @_@ strong judges, good job and thank you for your hard work! It was a great experience to watch from the sidelines and cheer with my pompoms
Ah, right. I didn't think of that.
Agreed, I forgot about this as well. It's the whole reason why the contest got delayed so badly lol
I need a better overview of the bias stuff, but I can see what you mean. *nods nods* I didn't see the Editor's pick tags, oops, my bad.
As for polls... yeah, they can be... ahem.
Maybe I should merge the excels and link it in the OP
Thought it was a boy who was raped by his father at first.
Kind of missed the girl part, hahaha
Such a sad story.
Did you read them all? ^_^
That one was a bit tragic :/
I'm on it, haha. I always have the tab open to read some more.
Separate names with a comma.
