okay .... don't get me wrong.................what's this thread doing in the novel general subforum if it's about a game ? It should be in either general chat or in the gaming discussion subforum play the game in English and talk in English if the server is international . The admins usually want a place where everyone can understand everyone and no one is worried about what a heck that one player said . It's not just because you're Brazilian .
Well I know that some Brazilians can be really annoying with trolling, but even then I think that people have this prejudice because the only ones that are widely talked about are the bad annoying jokes. We were using the chat not really 'speaking' to each other. Well I understand the problems with moderation, but it's halo 1 for Christ sake and it was in 2011 so the game was being played by mostly 20 or older while I myself was 14. That only kicked us out after we spoke on Portuguese so most of the other reasons don't apply, and I would ignore if i could but I was being kicked out so it makes a little hard.
1. Language barrier, which I assume shouldn't be the case since you can read and write Englih 2. You are considered noob to them, and they don't feel like carrying 3. Your countrymen have a reputation of being rude in gaming 4. They hate anybody who isn't from their country 5. They are just your average assholes that you populate most of internet It's probably one of the above reasons.
Was there anyone else speaking in a language that wasn't English back then ? If everyone was talking in English then here's your answer : they wanna keep the server international , everyone understanding each other and someone popping up speaking in a language the others didn't understand was something they deemed as bannable or worthy of kick tag a mod or someone report the thread saying it's in the wrong section of the forum
The age and manner of the service have no bearing on the rules set by the owner of the service. I recognize you're upset, but I think you might be blowing the issue out of proportion. If the server has an English-only policy, then you shouldn't be surprised when you're removed from that server for not speaking English. It's been a long time since I've played Halo 1. Is it possible to create your own server? If so, that would go a long way to alleviating your problem.
I'm not really upset just curious as to why it happened, and as far as I was aware there no English only policies, and I was younger so I didn't know english as well as I do now making it hard for me to speak in english fluently. @Westeller-san if you can please help me change the section of this thread to general chat, I would be very grateful.
then you know your answer. Anyways don't the game you're playing have an option to let you party with players from your region or something?
... in the past ... I moved with a buddy (Scottish as can be) to another region in an MMO to play PVP and as he didn't speak the language at all there I played with 2 voice chats open ... fun as hell. In general, as others mentioned before, you have an 'offcial' language on the server you are playing on - if you want to chat in your native (or whatever) language go either private or play side by side in RL ... it isn't polite to talk in a language others cannot understand.
If it's your first thread ( double checking all thread list in your profile), and it is your first thread, then I recommend reading the rules for each section. Also, you can report the thread to a Mod asking to transfer OP from Novel General to General Chat.
Is it just me or is there a character in a jar avi trend going on these days? No insult, just curious as to why I have seen few or some with a similar avi as yours: all in a pickle jar.
I am pretty resistant too foreign language speaker in general voice chat of game, If I don't understand and they're pretty chatty i will mute the voice chat from that person Except for two thing - either one of you play loud bgm music that can be heard on entire voice chat channel - annoying fan sound combo with your high pitch voice
