Dungeon Defense is one of my favorite novel.
Dantalian kinda remind me to Lelouch vi Britannia from Code Geass.

He is not the best leader around, but he is sharp and capable handling various stuffs such as politics and strategy..

Damn, vol.5 release date when? ._.

 

Can't really say anything about volume 3 and beyond but the first two volumes was just a typical style over substance plot with plot holes and stupid moves are glossed over by the author trying to make the mc seem cool, although I mostly found him to be narcissistic rather than cool personally.
I guess it doesn't help that I don't like the premise for the story since I'm sick of stories where the mc gets suck into a game or return to the past and know pretty much everything in advance, or the fact that I'm tired of game elements and the use of the deadly sins as a style choice.
Didn't hate it though, just didn't care enough to keep track of it after I caught up with the translation at the time.

 

He doesn't know everything in advance?
I don't get the "Seven Deadly Sins" reference you're talking about.
He is narcissistic; that is part of his charm.
Won't comment on the "stupid moves" for now, but what plot holes were you referring to?

 

It is fine if you think it is charming for him to be narcissistic, I just don't personally.
By "knowing everything in advance" I meant stories that does that in general not that he literally knew "everything", knowing about things like the plague in advance or knowing well guarded secrets about other people just from having played the game was enough to make it all boring to me.
As for the part about deadly sins, I picked the wrong example but in this case I meant more in how the author just straight up took the names of all the demonlords from classical demons, I didn't mean that this was a flaw just that I I'm personally tired of things like that.
Will admit I can't really give clear examples of all the plot holes right now since it was since it was a while I last read it, except for that his ability to see affection rates was stupidly inconsistent during those two volumes.
