Is the gameplay of this something like DnD?

 

It is possible, but it doesn't have to? (<- never played DnD before)

 

Roll dice for everything.
Magic has limited casts in between rest phases.
Roleplay is crucial.
Low numbers in general.

DnD in a nutshell, I guess

 

Kinda, though magic here relies on Mana; resting barely heals any of it though
-- Pretty much MMO played in DnD style would sum it up, I think.

Slightly different, more like I want people to be less biased when creating skills.

 

What type of biases are you talking about, do they want OP skills?

I am not biased in stuff mostly.. As long as it seems logical to me or explained well then it can be a skill.. Using fire ball to make a fire shield would not be a skill. Casting a fireball then channeling more mana to expand the ball and instead of releasing, maintains it in a shield form then it may be a shield.. maybe XD

 

Well, I'm sure everything has to go through group balancing anyway *shrug*

 

I would rule against any fire shield spell, because it won't stop any physical weapons, I don't fear slashing a sword through the fire and damage you behind it.

 

In my opinion when worded the way choco did it should be a skill that mainly defends against magic crap, but would also burn melee attackers.
No way in hell is it going to stop someone from shooting an arrow or throwing a dagger at you, though (Heck, it might just cause them to be lit on fire [if the gms allow it], which spells 'no good' in caps out loud.)
Right, will a fire status effect ever exist though?

 

A concern would be radiant heat damage coming off the shield and affecting the wielder.
