wow the translator just went double-greed mode. not only does he already have patreon up, hes also now using ads to block people from reading his latest translations.
well its still an awful way to do it though. i could understand using patreon to block new chapters, but blocking new chapters with ads is silly. not to mention ads can be dangerous depending on the ad source.
Maybe if leechers don't use adblock they wouldn't have to resort to this. Think about it from their perspective sure patreon gives them money but that just pays for the 3 hours of work they do per chapter, what about the costs of server and maintaining a site? Leechers claim to support these groups but then use adblock depriving them of revenue when they are already getting free content. Does that seem reasonable to you? If a group using ads to block content on top of patreon is double greed mode, what do you call leechers who are already getting free content but still use adblock so they end up costing these groups money instead of making them money? Infinite greed mode? Its like the Chinese saying of giving a little is good, giving a lot is evil since all this content is free people just become dicks and take a mile when given an inch you have aholes who use adblock and then complain about slow servers or slow translation speed or whatever like @StormHawk. This is one of the reasons why I am a nig supporter of reasonable paywalls for groups over this goodwill system we currently have so everything will be fair for all members of the community.
Lmao I am at this exact point in the novel I was also wondering what happened to the dog they didn't even use it to carry baggage or even try to evolve the dog when it would be a much better battle pet since it has max loyalty. The MC has 9 in negotiation I guess that means he has horrible social skills since it seems all he knows to do is fuck or kill, he doesn't even interact with any of his party members unless he is giving them orders and his "I give a fuck" circle is limited to his harem, still can't believe he forgot about that Yuying chick in the bunker before.
Gravity is now QI's new partner since WW and QI both went nuclear on each other. If it is in Gravity then i guess its because the translator is a part of Gravity now and it should be double hosted on Gravity and QI
i'd rather they block the latest chapter with a donation block instead, under the pretense of "donation for bonus release". this keeps it simple and straightforward, not like this ads that blocking the chapter that even resets when you refresh the page.
Well like I said making the donation block doesn't solve the problem of leechers using adblock, ads are the big chunk of a site's revenue whether it is WW or QI or even this site NUF. The donations go to the translator him/herself because you are paying the translator for extra work so the sites can't touch that majority of that money. If you experience intrusive ads or ads that contain virus it is not the site's fault, it is leechers who use adblock which cause these sites to lose money on their business and livelihood. Its like when fishermen use dynamite fishing and the reefs get destroyed and then you blame the ocean for having little amounts of fish left.
after observing the bonus chapters hidden behind the ad wall, they really should just refrain from releasing them. they're basically unedited or partially edited chapters, since there are quite a bit of grammar errors that simply doesn't make sense. Spoiler: examples
ok can anyone tell me whether the QI translation is accurate? Spoiler if what i understand is correct, it should be "shrinking by about 10centimeters" and "fluctuation of her height finally stopped and maintained by about 50centimeters". simply put, i cannot imagine her shrinking from 170centimeters to 10centimeters. so is her height now 120centimeters, or is it actually 150centimeters?
@Indiboy The worst news possible my friend... we have caught up with the author. There's nothing more we can do to speed things up. One of the things on our to-do list now is to go back to c1 and re-edit everything nicely. This is Insignia's pet project. He's quite excited to make things right.
