Ever been attached to the characters?

Ever been attached to the characters of the novel you been reading specially when you have finished reading it? Mostly happens to me when reading japanese novels. Makes me sad that I'll no longer know what's happening to them even if they are only fiction. I think this is withdrawal syndrome.

You are opening Pandora's box, my friend. Let's see, Gon, Killua, Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Rudeus, Silphy, Eris, Roxy, any character in fairy tail, Yi Yun, Lin Xintong, any character in naruto, etc.

 

I will always try to immerse myself into the work and look at the characters, including antagonists and maybe some of the side characters but not mobs, so yes. But lately, it is more of a meh~ cuz it feels like copy and paste from previous works.

EDIT: I remembered I cried when I was little when the autonomous car died for Shizuka in Doraemon and the deep sea adventure manga. Same when Girge in Breakblade died for MC.

Mushoku Tensei is probably the only one as far as translated novels. Plenty in western books like Percy Jackson, Gregor the Overlander and Brian from Hatchet.

I fell apart when he had to comfort his sister. That was the absolute most human moment I've ever seen and I've never felt so emotionally connected to anything that much ever

 

I recommend Tate no yuusha. It's more on the adventure side and it has game elements but it's not a let down at all after reading Mushoku Tensei.
