Based on some comments on the web, the first half is funny, while the second half is actually quite sad. I think it's a happy ending, but I am not sure. Either way, I think it will be a good read. Xia0yuer said that they might pick it up, but they haven't made a post since 2014. It's safe to say, they're not picking it up. When she is seven, the old beggar that had been raising her passed and she was bullied by the other beggars in the temple. At this moment, a beautiful man, Fan Hua, protects her and takes her away with him. He names her Shao'er and so far, the novel chronicles hilarious, little incidences with him. I don’t want to spoil too much because I may choose this as a translation project in the future. Without further ado, I bring you an excerpt from the Chapter 4 of Book 1 Spoiler: Falling Dreams of Fan Hua - Book 1, Chapter 4 excerpt Scene Translation: I am a Girl! This yifu [3], even though he looks like a deity, once you spend more time with him, you will realize that besides those three things, he cannot take care of himself at all. And it seemed like he had lived in isolation since long ago. Until one day, I was given another new robe… this one was even bigger than the ones I was given before. The sleeves were so long that they just about dragged on the ground… I simply could not endure anymore. “Yifu, this robe is too big.” “I also told the store owner this, but he said that kids grow fast and can wear it in the future.” … He doesn’t have to buy a robe designed for five years in the future… I weep… “Yifu, can you buy a different design next time?” He glanced at me, eyebrows raised. I stuck out my small, undeveloped chest and watched him closely as I said: “I am a girl…” He looked as if he understood but still did not comprehend: “And?” … Cannot even communicate with this guy… I had thought that he only pretended not to understand… then I realized that he completely did not know what women were. I quickly reacted, sensing that something did not bode well. I did not say anything else and turned around to flee. In the end… I forgot one very important thing. He has neigong[4]. I felt a tinge in my shoulder, a small pebble pelted me and then fell to the ground. Suddenly, my entire body became stiff and I couldn’t move… I felt a pair of hands on my waist belt, pulling down my pants… Oh how my heart wept. He actually reached out to examine me briefly, his fingers nimble. Finally, after his evaluation was complete, he smoothly tapped my shoulder, releasing my acupuncture point. I quickly jumped away. He inched over, his eyes flooding with sympathy: “When did you castrate yourself?” I was aggrieved. He saw that I wasn’t answering, and he understandingly nodded his head. He clasped his hands and walked away, murmuring to himself: “So this is the eunuch the books speak of… Indeed, they are different for ordinary people. Based on this link, I'm guessing 152 chapters. I know zero Chinese, so I'm only assuming this link is complete and the right series.

From what I see, both remy and Deceptioning's link goes to the right novel. I don't know why one is longer than the other. According to Baike, it was actually published in 2009 with 1 volume and 40 chapters plus an extra. First 24 Chapters can be found here. I might look for the rest later.
Alrighty, I did what I could find or as much time as I want to spend on it. @remy911 I got no clue why there's 152 chapters even though it refers to the same novel. Deceptioning's link is the right one for the web novel. The last chapter on Deceptioning's link pretty much says "Pseudo End" (or just Fake End, but I like how Pseudo End sounds). I dug around and most the websites had the last chapter as "Pseudo End" as well. Thus, I assume that's the ending for the web novel. Other than that, from what I gathered, the published version had 5 extra chapters after the last chapter from above (Pseudo End). And the author also added a bunch of minor details into the published version, as shown below. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the published version other than this, which only has the first 24 chapters. However, I did find this, which has the first 35 chapters from the web novel with the last 5 chapters from the published version (I presume). I didn't really do anything other than saving the file as docx because it opens as a bunch of symbols if left as is. But you can find it here. I'm not sure if I'm missing out on an old pronunciation system but I'm....around 99.9% sure 芳华 is Fang Hua (the pinyin of the Chinese title is this too), so Falling Dreams of FANG Hua might be more accurate. As it is, this series is pretty short compared to other ones out there, not to mention it's complete and the Chinese easy to read (no obscure terms so far) so I'm taking it on as a beginner's translation practice. Did 4 chapters a couple of days ago and it wasn't too hard, thankfully. I'll do my best to continue as much as I can. Wordpress site here.
It does! Though I'm wondering if it'll end up like Eastern Palace where it's mostly introspective things. However, describing the Fang Hua Shou makes me smile. If it's not 'he looks like a girl' it's 'he's a really pretty man' or 'he makes me breathless'. Along with the classic examples of metaphors and comparison to springs and jade and flowers. Ahh, I'm glad to heard you've read it. I'm reading as I'm translating to keep some element of suspense--please feel free to point out any errors if you see them, and I'll correct accordingly. Only if you want to/have time, of course.

I can do that once I...figure out how to do that. ^-^ I'll go enlighten myself. I suppose I'll need to rewrite/re-translate the summary a bit so it's not word-by-word of what the previous person did. EDIT: Also--what genres off the top of your head would you guys put this in? There are a few terms I'm not too familiar with. ^-^
Other people can also add in tags and genres later, you can just do the bare minimum . I'd say Female Protagonist as a tag is rather important, and Shoujo as a genre. But since I don't know much about the novel, I can't say whether it has Romance. It seems to be set in the past, so maybe Historical genre. And it seems to have some Comedy, don't know about Drama yet. You can credit the previous person's summary at the end (taken from so-and-so's blog) if you don't feel like redoing it.
