Recently, a friend of mine got me back into reading fanfiction! I read a nice Harry Potter to get me started and I notice that there was the old cliché of Harry having blocks on his abilities and mental capacity. Once the block was removed, he had an eidetic memory...which kinda got me thinking about whether magic can manipulate brain nerves or what a block actually is....which led me to think about fanfiction clichés. What are some of your favourite or most loathed clichés? I'm interested to know
fanfic cliche? most fanfic I read are comedy+romance so the most thing I see is tsundere on bro romance and usual romance..... I'm tired see tsundere
Pretty much more than 1/2 of the Seiyuus out there are female, character-not-withstanding. But in Fanfic.....
If the character is either a pre-pubescenct / adolescent / teenage boy, there is at 50% change the voice actor is female.
True, though I was still pretty shocked that Bart Simpson had a female voice character....maybe 'cause I was a kid and couldn't tell the difference....
If you read any Worm fan fiction with Taylor as the main character there is about 75% chance she is now gay or at least bi, and about 50% chance the love interest is Amy. I guess it doesn't help a lot of fans feel that the male characters ended up lacking when compared to the female characters in Worm.
There are quite a few series like that. I guess that's why fanfiction exists: to cover up plot holes *cough*NarutoHarryPotter*cough* and justify fan feelings.
One cliche in Harry Potter that I hate is hum getting all the major inheritance like the Merlin's and all the Hogwarts house founder's inheritance
Genderbent is my nope-button. OOC and the SUE's alike is okay as long as its well written and its the same as SI (self-insert) there's a lot of cliche that in HP fanfic, like The Weasley/Hermione is recruited by Dumbledore to spy on Harry, creature inheritance, etc I loathe doormat-Harry and those overly dramatic betrayal and thrown-to-azkaban fics ...and badly written omnipotent-Harry is sounding just like a tool.
Also the cliché of the Weasley meeting with Harry in first year is a set up, they are being paid to be his friend, Malfoy is a Veela, Voldemort is good, DumbBee is a manipulative goat, Snape is Harry's father (I am your father, Luke) and so on. I'm pretty sure that HP has the most clichés, right?
