From the description of how the gun works, he can actually train [Thousand Tempering Hundred Refining] and kill enemies at the same time.

 

They're being a bit too casual about burning their souls. I mean, in a world like this, death isn't necessarily the end. So fighting with your life on the line is understandable, but burning your soul is just stupid in the vast majority of situations, including this one.

Yeah, that occurred to me too, but it actually costs money to train that way while training with the teacher pays money. I think its pretty obvious which one the MC will choose. In the short run at least.

lol. It's now getting a lot more interesting than just nails. He hasn't started showing off his skills yet but we can expect something in 2-3 chapters

I wonder if that was the teacher, the MC, or someone lining up to get their face smacked by trying to humiliate the MC.

 

Wouldn't it have to be a space marine assault cannon? 6 barreled, usually mounted on vehicles, chain fed from an enormous pack, etc.

This is just a misunderstanding, they're not attempting to humiliate the MC, they just think he's a gung-ho New Meat.

 

Is it a some sort of gattling gun, or is it a real reference to a weapon that is found in warhammer40k universe? Because the way I read it he just grabbed a multi barreled gattling gun.

 

It should be both I think, Terminator 2 & WH40K figurines which took inspiration from Terminator 2.

 

Ah, basically the badassery image of a guy wielding a gattling gun with multiple barrels.

This... is.... interesting. I'm looking forward as how he would perform with such a cumbersome weapon. (assuming that it is cumbersome, since its implied that others don't view him in good light since the weapon is bulky and may not really rip enemy to shreds)

 

They know it can rip the enemy into shreds, they just think he's a moron who's going to rip himself into shreds firing a vehicle mounted weapon trying to act macho.

 

ah true. yeah. my mistake on that.

But I think the others are going in for a surprise. And knowing our MC, I doubt he's NOT going to do any modifications ever to the gun.

 

If it takes more than 2k rounds to get a kill, then I can only think of it as being a super inefficient and extremely expensive weapon to use. He'd probably be better off just pulling out one of his own creations and hacking it to death.

 

His shooting technique sucks, need to spend credits to take basic weapon courses.

 

It would probably help, but I doubt its a high enough priority for him to actually do it. After all, getting good would be extremely expensive, as would fighting any enemy that wasn't weaker than him. Since he's poor and likely to stay that way for most of the series (relative to his needs at least), saving money is always going to be important to him.

 

I hope that's not how he plans to win all of his fights. There won't be enough of it left to make anything. The corpse is totally worthless now. Well, unless plot armor steps in and saves the day of course.

I kinda wish those two were right, but I expect that he'll be a monster in both close (and maybe ranged) combat as well as having monstrous defense and being a once in several millennia grade refiner.

 

That's for his second and third year of studies, they were right about a person having only so much time & energy after all. I expect his acedemic development to be:-

1. 1st year to Registered Refiner
2. 2nd year to work on offensive weapon proficiency and come up with better weapon designs.
3. 3rd year to work out the kinks in the power generator for the Crystal Armour that got his predecessor's killed.

 

I thought becoming registered meant you'd graduated though?
