I found this to be a revamp of Gourmet Food Supplier. So far I'm really enjoying both. Gourmet of Another World has everything from Gourmet Food Supplier, the dog, the customer's reactions, the system, and even the MC's personality. it's all the same just altered a bit to be more of what I think Gourmet Food Supplier would be like in a world full of Cultivators. Honestly, I Love It. I hope both continue to come out so I can keep reading them as i'm really looking forward to both of them.
Personally, I feel that this story is a much better one than Gourmet Food Supplier in that the "cheat system" isn't such a broken piece of shit. It actually helps than simply being an asshole about things. It has a much less focus on how amazing the ingredients used, and rather focuses on how amazingly skilled the cook is. In contrast, Gourmet Food Supplier tends to go on extensively on how amazing the ingredients are, and as a result it feels like the MC takes a backseat to the food itself. In this story, the ingredients can be obtained by anybody with sufficient ability, but bringing out the magic depends on the MC's ability alone.
+ i think the translator of this novel is one of the best translators qidian has as of now, so like a 4.5-5 star translator (translators on the level of cktalon/deathblade/rwx go beyond it and so would be like 6/5) compared to gfs which is maybe 3.5-4 star worthy
It has been a very enjoyable read for the first ten chapters and from what I've seen in there it seems to be a mix from The Other World Dining Hall (I hope someone picks that up again) and Gourmet Food Supplier (as people already mentioned) playing in the stereotypical Xanxia world, that looks very close to the cultivation system of the world in Library of Heaven's Path. (Go to the latest chapter thread there to get all my deep wisdoms you need in your live. ) If it turns out the way I think it will, then we'll be able to enjoy the mc getting stronger slowly while learning to cook new dishes. He will have very nice, very funny and very weird interactions with his customers and about a half of the book will center around the lives and situations of his customers, as it has been with those three young masters and the (probably) first love interest. I'm looking forward to that story very much.
I personally really liked it too. The comedy is different than GFS, but the premise is kind of the same. I like it when there is face slapping involved as in I'm Really A Superstar. Novels with cooking as the main theme are awesome if done well, no matter if there is some cross-refunding involved.
