So recently I've been finding ads while using u-block (a type of ad block) which I presume to be some sort of adware because of how obtrusive and shady it is. I've looked through my recent installations and my extensions, and there seems to be nothing wrong. I decided to use both Malwarebytes and the Adware cleaner for it, but it's still going on. Also, for some reason, my google chrome can't connect to the internet anymore so I'm currently using internet explorer. Would you guys have any suggestions? I actually plan on trying to uninstall and reinstall chrome if that perhaps works.

Edit: I have also both restarted my modem and computer.

Here are some examples of what it looks like by the way:
(it also did that really shady shit of opening a tab and suddenly closing it after loading something, as well as replacing whatever current tab you're in despite not clicking on anything)

Sounds like some type of malware or trojan. Is it doing it on internet explorer as well or just google chrome?

Also check all the programs installed on your computer to verify nothing looks suscipious, if a program is installed you don't recongizne then google that program to find out what it is.

Finally, I think the usual steps for removing malware is the following:
    1. Use AdwCleaner to scan for possible files.
    2. Use Malwarebytes anti-malware
    3. Use Hitman Pro
    4. Then use Zemana antimalware
If you can't do it using these steps, then check in with a more specialize site like bleepingcomputer.com

I believe I'm just using the base and the adwarecleaner versions.

First of all, if you downloaded it free online, you need to be able to check if the source is trusted. There tend to be quite abit of fake virus software which are actually virus created to create even more problem. Its always better to purchase a anti virus software, as is trusted. However, if you are trying to save money, using trial runs of virus software is another option. (Although it is probably not as good. BUT ITS FREE.) Take note to double check that ur wifi is working. I got trolled once when my service provider messed up.
Anyway if im not wrong chrome itself has a adblocker so there no point of u downloading another adblocker.
If problems still persist, go and visit a it expert. Cause we cant 100% know whats happening without fiddling around abit.
    Good luck.

check for recently installed programs adwares, they usually are hidden so u might need to check the running processes with process explorer and find the cause.
