Hi~ I'm having difficulties with this piece of dialogue~ The context is this ->Previously Vito asked this person to hit her or insult her because of something she thought she did wrongly, yet the person said he wouldn't because he didn't find fault in her. then they talk about some things and now the dialogue continues as follows: 「それに、罵って、殴って、ヴィトだけがすっきりするのは、嫌だな」 (captain) 『・・・はい?』 I'd like help in checking the accuracy of my translation: "And besides, for Vito to come clean just by getting insulted, or hit, that's wrong." [...Yes?] "I don't find any blame in you. That's why, it'll be fine if you just trouble over it, for a lifetime." What's with this devil. So from now on I should always continue to be tormented for a contract I did on a whim!? Wh, what kind of person are you, Captain! this is the MT: "And, swearing in, hit by, the only to clean Vito, I would not want." […Yes?] "I do not blame anything. So, life, should I Nayame" What it devil. What I do not continue to be tormented about what the future was arbitrarily contract much! ? Do not, I'm a person Nante, captain-san! any help will be appreciated, thank you!
She's asking for help either/both translating accurately or/and editing it to legible/smooth dialogue.
^That's it exactly; thank you @WeiFish. i'm unsure if my translation is accurate. i'll go update that in the first post >////<
I think you got the meaning pretty much right... but I would word it differently. "Besides, being hit and cursed at would appease just you." "I'm not going to reproach anyone." Since the guy is a captain, I'm assuming he's the MC's superior. I think he's trying to say he's not gonna do anything to reproach MC (active action), and so MC should just live with the guilt. I'm using anyone since it seems there's another party involved that seems to be partly at fault(?) and the captain might be referring to her as well. Could also be "reproach you for anything". ... take it with a grain of salt, though. My Japanese sucks, I'm still learning.
@frenzy85, maybe I cut off too much context xD Vito's the one captain likes, and she feels guilty for forcing him into a magical contract with her for a lifetime (though she did it to save his life), so it seems this lines he is saying are just him teasing her. however, I like your suggestions! I think I'll use the first. on the second sentence is where I have the most problems, because he says 'he doesn't blame (her), Dakara she should be troubled by it for a lifetime' that 'dakara' is killing me. @Kin, I'm translating it cause I think it's good xD it's Dragon Life
Oh, derp... I thought Vito was a guy, which was why I got really confused... So yeah... I think the second sentence should be "I'm not going to blame you for anything." If he said that he doesn't think she did anything wrong, then the second part where he says she should be troubled by it makes no sense. "I'm not going to blame you for anything, so you should regret it for the rest of your life" makes much more sense than "I'm don't think you did anything wrong, so you should regret it for the rest of your life" If she did nothing wrong, what's there to be troubled about?
