For some reason, I can't read any eastern novel that had a female protagonist. O fair just fine with western fantasy, anime, and manga, but I just can't seem to stand it in my translated novels. Anyone else also avoid novels with a female MC?
I can see where you are coming. the serious/semi serious ones can basically all be written as copies. i lie to read pure comedies with female leads..
yeah i cant stand reading chinese novel with female mc as most of them seems to have same cliche: useless woman which everyone bullied become succesful and get a revenge, but still always stuck with one main love who usually a douchebag asshole... or just a really naive stupid mc... but people usually say good thing about this novel mc: The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage oh and u maybe wants to read my thread about Badass Female MC with no romance: http://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/badass-female-mc-without-romance.48078/
I normally greatly prefer novels with female main-characters but the endless flood of "assassin reincarnates as young miss" bull is just a pest. The characters trade in their lady-balls as soon as the annoying male lead so much as looks in her direction. I abhor that and drop the novel as soon as it happens
All chinese novel with female protagonist are pretty much..the same...female assassin/alchemist transmigrate into the body of a concubine/slut aristocrat/young miss and things go wrong. Also,I can't read romance with a girl as the mc (being me a man,it's unnatural)
You know what trope it follows tho? Oooohhhhh mc is so beautiful in ml arms, omg he swooped her off her pretty tiny feet, oh wow he sees how long her eyelashes are. Made me drop the novel. Edit: I drop fem mc novels if they cant display more than one emotion by chapter 50 or when the chapters have an absurd amount of beautification gloat pandering. Two rules for Chinese novels. Jap novels, I drop when it stops being cute/funny and can't run off other jokes or plot. Or if it's an aimless plot that just gets ridiculously turned into a cooking story.
Havent rly had that Problem so far if the story description doesn't seem nice enough I just won't read it. And many of the female mc novels fall under that category (far more male mc fall in there as well though...). If you want a rly good Chinese novel with a female mc have you tried My Disciple Died Yet Again ?
Don't mind me, just eating my sandwich and giving you yet another useless notification (blame @fuzor100 ) same here, it annoys me to see that crap as well, especially since it's a modern day woman being reincarnated and all, I mean they supposedly made it big in some way in the modern world, yet all that becomes meaningless in the face of some @$$hole, those assassins even more so, how the hell did they make it as a top assassin if all it takes is just ONE buttface that makes them swoon over, and that buttface didn't even spend that much time goading that female MC before she was seemly tamed Honestly I hesitate to read a lot of the female-MC novels I saved to my reading list cause of that
I can read it but I can't as I tend to really immerse myself when I read something so I feel uncomfortable when reading it.
Same here, not that I use the reading list, I simply stopped starting novels with the usual setting. Oh, BTW the only exception of an OK Asian novel with a female lead is Reign of the Hunters, at least up to ~chapter 80, haven't read the rest So you can read fantasy but balk at a female viewpoint of relationships because its "unnatural"? Lol
