Discussion How many of you buy your novels?

I'm broke ;-; as much as I want to buy novels, I'm currently broke.

 

I also do not buy them as i would spend more money on it than food.......
Same reason i am not able to read marvel universe comics as those are hardcover books costing around 15-30 euros per book.
So if i wanted to read as much as i would like to read i would have to toss more than 3000 euros to the wall.
Novels are of course cheaper as it only contains words and no pictures but still its something to compare.
As for novel i would like to buy if i knew japanese/chinese i would not mind throwing 100 euros each month at the wall.
Sadly i do not know these 2 languages otherwise i would really spend money on it.

 

Buying novels? What are u talking about, even my clothes are "borrowed" from shops. I will pay for them , later, I swear!

Can't say I buy much light novels, but I do buy the few ones I really liked such as Spice and Wolf, bought the hardcover limited edition for that one although funny enough that ended up cheaper than buying the volumes individually.

Once I graduate from university (2months), i plan on starting my own collection of anime, manga and LNs that I have read/watched of course as long as they are licensed in English... of course after I get a job as well...

 

Sure there are the digital ones but what I'd really like is a physical copy. Also I don't have any credit cards or even a bank account, it's not like I can pay cash directly.

 

You are not having credit card and a bank account probably because you're still young?

 

I personally prefer physical over digital and hope authors and companies will push for both instead of going completely digital? Like how MGA is on amazon but digital only ):

 

What is a common age for bank account and credit cards as I have had a bank account/credit card since I was 11-12 I think, I even got a limitless card when I was 15. I don't really think it's that common nowadays not to have bank accounts when young but my country might be different than where you live(I also live in the capital).

 

I never buy them. The things I read I can find it on nu or google

I usually buy western books. And read translated novels online.

 

Oh, I do buy mine! Sadly, each volume is about 1/7th of my salary, but I gain 2/5 of a minimum wage, so... I suppose it's not that expensive.

I really love buying books though! I have problems all the time in finding places to put my books because my shelves easily get full!
