Do not underpower your villains. Keep them a threat even during op moments.

Just because your mc has super strength to lift towers does not mean a dumbbell dropped on his testicles will not floor him.

Good story, faceslapping, great worldbuilding, great character interactions, great skills, cool MC WITH A SPINE who actually shows off his OPness.

I don't want to read slice-of-life stories about OP characters (it's like reading about an MC with super strength in a story about maths contests... it's not the right place to use the trope to its full potential).

Nor do I want to see OP characters that hide their strength. Everyone thinks the MC is a loser and treats them like trash but the MC secretly knows they're awesome... so what??? You may as well be trash! You'll get shat on 24/7. It's just frustrating and pointless to me.

Op MC that have the same amount of mental capacity as his powers.
Not overly reliant on cheats. Manipulative, calculative, only showing his powers in the last moment as a winning hand.
Exagerated Face slapping can get boring after a year of it..

Well Onepunch-man was really well developed, and what saves it the more is his genre of gag, they can allow themselves to be as ridiculous as they want.

There are 2 types of OP MC stories I think are good.

    A) Lots of good side characters. This requires the writer to be good at writing characters. The OP MC is more of a linchpin for the interaction and development of other characters.

    B) OP "villain". Even if the MC beats up all the random plebs that cause him problems if you have some looming threat on the horizon that is clearly a problem for the MC is usually offsets a lot of the mary sue feeling, as long as you've proven it's an actual threat to the MC (ex: he died to it in the past and came back in time, not just adding some ambiguous foreshadowing about villains which the MC will probably easily beat).

An op mc should just commit endless slaughters in every dimension and destroy everything \o/ a fucking evil mc that destroys everyone and everything. That's what we need, a mc slaughtering everything, baby or oldies without remorse

Easiest ways 2 pull off an OP MC that doesn't seem too have too much plot armor and luck imo is,

    1) Have the MC very weakly inherit the bloodline of some OP clan/species from some super higher realm that is far far away, or even non-existent anymore. e.g. Coiling Dragon style.

The MC will be decently talented and is probably from a very declined country side nobody noble family, but will become psuedo-OP relative too normal peeps after his bloodline awakens.

Of course, even then this bloodline shouldn't straight away make him a god, and there should be plenty of other powerful bloodlines, but it should allow the MC to pull of cool shit without having too be overly reliant on 'new enemy' -> 'lucky encounters' -> 'mc cultivates until he can kill next enemy' -> repeat cycles.

    2) Have the MC inherit or 'deservedly encounter' something that boosts his abilities/learn crafting skills/helps him make money exponentially over time. e.g. Shen Yin Wang Zuo - Trained by his strong father, Spirit Realm - Symbols, Desolate Era - Nuwa Painting.

Then the MC should have a decent reason too become stronger, such as revenge on some powerful sect/clan that killed his mother, or maybe have it so the human race is at war with demon invaders from another plane so he is forced too train/join military or die, or have his clan become oppressed by surrounding clans and he is forced to become stronger too prevent his clan from getting wiped out.

When it comes too romance, the main thing I'll say is just don't have the female suddenly disappear for 500-1000 chapters. Worst thing you can do also is, have the MC be a 10000 year old virgin that is so busy cultivating, that the girl/s ends up dying naturally due too old age waiting for him. I like the ability for peeps too become stronger by eating the god sparks in CD for example, as it allowed the MC too bring his girl with him too higher realm. So at least this way, he was not a 1 million year old virgin.

The rest just depends on ur ability too world build and create interesting chracters and subplots.
