From what i see, it's calling someone a tsundere or he hates love or loves not loving? edit: could also be he shows love but looks like he isn't
Shaw states, you seem like the type to love not having love. It seems pretty irrational arrogant or some shyt. IDK LOL m only taking chinese 2 in college . middle seems hella confusing. thanks for the practice. tag me when a real pro comes here so i can learn.
Xiao Chen said that, one who love their appearance, seems to be very egotistic. Something like that? Is the speaker, talking about someone or anyone in general?
well google says : Xiao dust said, a love you do not love the look, looks quite arrogant. um >.> that sounds like an idiom lol.. xD but since its broken MTL i can't quite figure this one out I can only take a wild guess like ... To love someone you do not simply love only their looks... maybe? oh the arrogance is in there...hmm or maybe its arrogant to love someone by focusing only on their looks perhaps >.> XD sometimes asian sentence is kinda translated backwards [structure wise] to english sentences...
萧尘 is wearing an "你爱要不爱" expression, which is making him look pretty arrogant. The "你爱要不爱" feels a bit awkward tho, no idea what that is, unless it means "你爱要不爱要", which sounds like he is offering something.
Xiao Chen said that, the appearance you love or not, is still arrogant 1. You should tell us the back story so it will be more accurate.
Context (from googling): "三颗?臭小子,你耍我们!”几个大汉顿时大怒,三颗下品晶石,打发乞丐啊? “耍你们怎么了?不耍又怎么了?反正我只有这三颗了!”萧尘说道,一副你爱要不爱的样子,看上去还挺狂妄的。 I'm also confused as to what 爱要不爱 is ... maybe it's a typo of 爱要不不爱 or something =_= I think it would be: Xiao Chen said, with a haughty take-it-or-leave-it expression
爱要不爱 is a phrase that us chinese people like to use a lot. It's pretty much always used in a haughty manner. The general meaning behind it is "take it or leave it", if a women says something like she doesn't want something anymore then you can reply with 爱要不爱. The full translation is "Xiao Chen said, an expression of take it or leave it on his face, seemingly still quite arrogant.
"So what if I'm playing you? So what if I'm not? I only have three pellets!" Xiao Chen said with an appearance of indifference, he looked pretty arrogant.
萧尘说道,一副你爱要不爱的样子,看上去还挺狂妄的。 My chinese isnt exactly the best, but ill give it a shot. Xiao Chen said, whether you like the look or not, when you look upon it it is still looks pretty arrogant. In my opinion, word for word my translation is ok, thou it doesn't sound very fluid. The word 副 is throwing me off slightly thou... (I learned my Chinese from my parents, so I don't know most of the more uncommon Chinese phrases/words)
副 is the measure word in this case. You would say "一副样子“ instead of "一个样子“ or whatever. Measure words man... bane of my existence
I think 爱要不爱 =爱要不要 or 爱要不爱要 means take-it-or-leave-it.The "爱" doesn't means love, but could be understand as "would like". However it's an quite orally phrase, maybe the author just speaks it like this. "一副你爱要不爱的样子"could be translated as "put on an affectation of take-it-or-leave-it",the MC was pretending he didn't care.
