还是苦心积虑的怎么赢得他师尊的欢心,好追求到一个资质奇高又才貌双绝的丹修做道侣? source: https://www.sto.cc/book-162199-3.html Systran says its: The pains product ponders won the favor of his teacher, is good to pursue intelligence Qi GaoDan of talent and good looks outstanding in both fields to repair to be a companion? Is the meaning something like: How to win the favor of his teacher, a man of great talents and outstanding good looks.. But does the "to repair to be a companion?" mean "to become lovers/companions?"
Your first part 'How to win the favor of his teacher' is spot on, though the second part not so much. It's actually referring to the his master, who is a pill cultivator? The sentence should be something like this. Or are they painstakingly pondering how they could win the favor of his master, and pursue a pill cultivator with both great talents and outstanding good looks as their dao-companion? Dao-Companion (道侣) is basically your husband/wife in a Xianxia world.
Makes sense. It's Danmei ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Discovering my Disciple Wants to Eat Me After Raising Him The Daily Task of Preventing My Disciple from Turning to the Dark Side
Since the previous few sentences are pretty much him pondering over what he should do, this is my suggestion: Or should he agonize and mull over how to win his Master's affection, how to better pursue this incredibly gifted alchemist who has both looks and talent to become his life partner? Though I think using dao-companion might be better given the xianxia context, good luck with translating!
Thank you for your input. Perhaps I interpreted the previous lines wrongly? I thought the character was thinking about other people and what they were plotting. What are the hypocrites doing at this time? Are they pursuing the righteous path to cultivation? Are they murdering and stealing treasures? Are they standing aloof, pretending to be superior and benevolent? Or are they painstakingly pondering how they could win the favor of his master, and pursue a pill cultivator with both great talents and outstanding good looks as their dao-companion? On the other hand, if this is the character himself thinking of what he himself should do then it's totally wrong. I only use MTL so it might be completely out of whack.
I thought the context was that he was wondering what his enemies were doing. There is apparently some sort of conspiracy afoot though I haven't read far enough to know what it's about, except for the part where it killed his master.
I actually kinda hoped he was already planning how to get into his master's pants. I mean, why not? Outstanding good looks, you know?
Ahh, I skimmed a bit fast and missed a line. You're right, he's wondering what those people are doing at the time.
Yeah, the thoughts are a bit difficult to parse when the guy often thinks of his present situation, his past, and the future. I haven't read the entire thing so it's very confusing. Thank you, everyone! I will continue to MTL and find out what the actual heck is happening in the story. I'm guessing it will all become clearer in 10 or so chapters.
